I have been very disappointed in my time at Redpoint. The communication with the maintenance team is absolutely terrible and the apartments are not I very good shape at all. I have had issues over and over with my ac unit and they continue to put bandaids on the problem rather than fix it, as-well as just throwing the dirty filters in our closet. The apartments are also filthy and the furniture looks like it was picked up in a five points alley way. We have also had problem with mold and dirty vents that has yet to have been taken care of. I do not recommended signing a lease here at all.

My time at Redpoint from 2022 to 2024 has unfortunately culminated in a series of events that compel me to write this review. I urge those reading to consider my experiences before deciding to live here. My personal move out breaking point happened at the final bug infestation I could handle. I cannot eat food with bugs on it. SEE PHOTOS. My review breaking point arrived on my move-out day, 7/23/24, after a series of attempts to contact the management office went unanswered--calls during business hours were ignored and the voicemail box was full. Amidst my family's mourning over my aunt's sudden passing last week, I found myself stranded in Wisconsin due to the nationwide CrowdStrike outage, an event entirely beyond my control. Unable to secure a return flight until 7/27, unable to turn in my keys. When I finally reached someone at the office, their response was unsympathetic, suggesting I mail the keys--a suggestion I would not take in the event they were DELAYED OR LOST I faced a late fee of $100 per HOUR past the noon deadline for key return. 15,000 dollars in fees they said. This situation has led to a formal complaint with corporate (case number 13414214), where thankfully, we encountered a helpful representative, but that is where the positive experience started and ended. I had to beg someone through tears to get them to drive two hours to take my key to columbia to avoid this. The following details outline my grievances over the past two years: Unit-specific issues: Holes in walls, which I patched prior to my aunt's death, were left unpainted despite promises from the management to provide paint, which they did not. I'm sure I will be charged for this. The A/C unit broke down four times, once leaving us with an inadequate bedroom unit and indoor temperatures rising to 86 degrees. On multiple occasions. Frequent internet outages both within my unit and complex-wide. A dryer that stopped working due to neglected maintenance. Mold discovered in the vents from unkept vent filters. A fire alarm that sounded every time a particular bedroom's shower was used, which was never fixed. Pest infestations including ants, silverfish, cockroaches, and flies. MULTIPLE TIMES. Toilets stopped working, multiple times. At move-in, the shared living space was in poor condition with paint on the floor, a smoke odor, and drug edibles left in drawers. My personal bedroom had a dirty carpet, insect cocoons in the wall corners, and a stained mattress. Apartment-wide issues: Non-residents were allowed to use the clubhouse, leading to unsafe pool parties, police interventions, and a drive-by shooting. The entry gate was frequently out of order, damaging vehicles and failing to provide security, resulting in car break-ins and CARS BEING STOLEN. Emergency maintenance responses were delayed or non-existent. A persistent pothole and recurring floods causing water outages. Unreliable shuttle service, with breakdowns and unsafe drivers, which was a key amenity for my residency. New guest pass policies were inconvenient and poorly implemented, the security guard was sometimes not in the office after hours to create said pass, at risk of having a guest we have be towed. Trash compactor broken for months. Other residents have reported issues such as unclean bathrooms at move-in, toilets detaching from walls, mold, non-functional A/C, crumbling furniture, and charges for pre-existing damages. While it may look attractive and leasing staff may urge you to sign early into your lease like I was, it seems management does not address these issues, and while the employees--often college students--are not to blame, the responsibility lies with upper management's negligence. DO NOT LIVE HERE. This has been an unsafe nightmare from hell. To say you will charge me 15,000 dollars over a key when we have a death in the family and airline outages is beyond cruel on top of all of the stress you have put the residents through from neglecting this property. I have done everything I can from a 8 hour cleaning, to bug spraying to hole patching to make this place liveable, and it just isn't. Update: Yes redpoint I paid the fines as, to my pleasant surprise, I didn't get charged for pre existing damages. I'm glad this was atleast different from others experiences, and yes the keys were turned in after having a panic attack and begging someone to drive to drop them off for me in my absence. Ultimately, again this is not at all issues stemming from their young employees. This is a failure on a corporate level and property neglect.

USC parents do not move your kids into this apartment complex. They don't operate properly. On move out, they will send you a damage Report that is everything wrong with the apartment, even if it was there when you moved in. So, if you don't dispute it you get stuck with the bill. The gate did not work ever. They do not maintain the property or respond to problems. If you got stuck with a bill like this, you need to email Monica at gm@redpoint-columbia.com and dispute those charges. Update 8/21/24 - the GM is now Kameron, not Monica. I went there this morning to address the bill, and they could not speak with me about it. The young person said that they have so many disputes to deal with and that Kameron was trying to get corporate help. I left my number, I am not expecting a call back. They do not answer their phones. Current Residents or prospective residents. Be wary. If you already are in a lease, take photos of everything, every surface and item because they will charge you for items you did not ruin.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. This place is extremely dangerous. If I could begin describing everything that has happened I would be here for hours. I have lived here for three years and in that time my whole apartment room flooded from a hole in the closet ceiling. I woke up to my foot going into soaking wet carpet. This was just the beginning though. This past February there was a shooting. I heard insanely loud shots right outside my window and cops come pulling in. I assumed they searched the area. Wrong. Next morning I go to leave for class and I find that my driver's side window has been completely shattered by a bullet and left a bullet mark and ricochet. My roommate's car got a massive hole in the back windshield and bullets left in her car and on the ground. The shooter wasn't found, the gates have been left open for years, the scene of the shooting was left for a week on the ground of shattered glass and more shootings have occurred since. DO NOT LIVE HERE it is absolutely horrible and the management will look at you and laugh in your face. Security is absent constantly including the night of the shooting. The cops completely missed the scene of our cars despite that I live right by the clubhouse and my car got shot right by it. This was by far the worst experience of a living space I have ever had and would not recommend for absolutely anyone. Please don't live here if you are wanting to be safe.

My roommate also moved out on the 23rd and she isn't being charged but I am. There was an offer to move out in May in order to allow them to renovate. The staff members came to my door with this offer. I asked them for a day or two. They said that was fine. I called back a day or two later and accepted the offer and was told I was all set. I asked more than one staff member to confirm because the staff has made mistakes in thepast and they said I was fine if I called. I am now being told that because I didn't sign I still have to pay. The total is 1000+ dollars, which includes utilities during the time that we were not even in the apartment. Another issue I ran into with The apartment is that my car was told the day of my exam. The reason for my car being told was that a staff member wrote me a parking pass while the staff was having a meeting. she was rushing and wrote down the wrong date so one of the other staff members told her the correct date and she wrote over the date with darker marker. The towing company assumes I tampered with the tag. My car was tower and I almost missed my exam. I have emailed and called to resolve the situation. Had I known they would charge me. I would have stayed in the apartment. Very poor communication when transitioning out!

The trains never blocked me from getting to class in the morning which had been a concern of mine.
