Everything they will not tell you before your first day/orientation:…read more -orientation is completely unpaid, you will not make any money until you make a Verizon Fios sale going door to door knocking and asking people to sign up. If you want to take a bathroom break while walking around for the 10 hrs on shift they recommend you ask one of the people whose doors you're knocking to use their bathroom. they drop you off in one of their vans in a location in Maryland and you walk around for hours with no access to a bathroom essentially. -they say that you'll be working five weekdays Mon-Fri 8am-7pm and Sat but they'll expect you to be there until 9pm every night to "discuss how the day went" -you only get paid if you make a "sale" and the owner takes half off the commission. essentially you're working for free walking around for 12 hours a day and you only get paid if you can convince some elderly person to sign up for Fios. -they sell a commission and bonus structure that realistically will take you weeks to receive your first check. i linked the pay scale in the drop box, most people that showed up to the orientation were gone by the first week. -i was being trained as an office assistant and was offered a salary working 8-5 Monday-Friday with a 40 min break for 500$ a week (Pre-tax) which averages to $12.19/hour which is $2.80 beneath the Maryland minimum wage. After having me train with another personal assistant for a couple days, the owner ghosted me and I was never paid for any of the time I spent at Serene Marketing. Beware. I called to inquire about this and their office( which is run by interns ) were of no help. The intern, Jenny refused to pass along my message to Carlyn herself regarding the non-payment, she referred me to an email address. I was frustrated since I had already emailed regarding non-payment without hearing back, she hung the phone up after stating it was not her job to be a secretary. I was so thrown off by this so I decided instead to reach out to company who hired me through Carlyn Davis, they told me they hadn't sent a check to the studio and that the studio hadn't reached out to them either for the last two months. When I finally got in touch with Carlyn she explained how unprofessional it was of me to talk to the client directly-- no apology from her regarding the lack of communication or non-payment for the last three months or for the behavior of her staff. After going back and forth with her on the total she owed me, she included me on an email thread meant for a colleague stating how much I was "pain in the a**" for trying to get paid!

I contacted Steve in February 2017 after he was recommended to be my a friend. I sent him all my paperwork electronically at the beginning of March and waited for him to get back to me after reviewing it. By the end of March I had still not heard from him, so I emailed him again. Apparently he had misplaced, deleted, or was unable to retrieve my paperwork, which I sent him again. We finally had a phone conversation lasting 30-45 minutes about my taxes at the beginning of April. I did not receive the paperwork to sign and submit my taxes until April 12th, and ended up paying a significant amount on both federal and state taxes to 3 different states. I then received an invoice that appeared way too high for a 30-45 minute conversation, despite my taxes including 3 different states. I asked Steve via email to call me to discuss the charges. He was out of town and said he would get back to me when he came back. I am yet to hear back from him, and while waiting, I have received a new invoice with additional finance charges. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Steve Biegler or KWC for my 2017 taxes, and I will not be recommending KWC to anybody for their accounting needs.

Dreadful customer communication…read more If you'd like to be ignored, this is the accountant for you. The company said their poor service led to an unacceptable outcome, then told me to get lost. They offered to apologize, but have not done so yet. They have not offered compensation for my time and inconvenience. On the good side, they have not yet charged me a fee. And all language has been clean to date. On a recommendation from a friend, we asked Kositzka Wicks to consult on our federal and state taxes to see whether we should do something other than follow TaxCut's advice. The senior staffer who had been recommended to us made an appointment to see us, and asked for copies of our tax returns for 2012 and 2013. About a month before our scheduled meeting I took a few hours to produce legible PDFs from TaxCut for those years and uploaded them to a site that she had provided. At the meeting she said she had not received my returns. When I said that I had uploaded them a month ago, she left us sitting for a few minutes while she went to check. She then said that she could see that we had uploaded the files, but that she could not retrieve them because the links had expired. We left with plans to again upload the files and return later for a productive meeting. At home, I could not find the PDFs and recalled that I had deleted them for security reasons. I emailed the senior staffer asking her to try again to recover the files from her site, so that I would not have to spend time regenerating them. After a day without an answer I emailed her boss, who told me that the company did not want my business. He said that the outcome of our meeting was unacceptable, and offered to apologize. I replied that his apology would be welcome if he chose to extend it.
