Out the front stand a stack of oddly sized easels, with a few inside as well. Inside you'll also find a variety of paper available. This is a great place to go to get your own or unframed bought artworks framed. As well as the supply side of things, they hold small exhibitions of local artists here but despite the name, I would classify this as more of a store than a gallery.

We always said "We should stop there one day". This particular Sunday we finally did. The old school house has a historic ambience and couples nicely with displays from local artists. Tucked away to side of the road, surrounded by the native bush at the back. I loved it and it was the perfect lazy Sunday activity. We saw an exhibition by photographer Mike Scott and sculptor Gary Field. Other artists on display more regularly include painters Gail Higgins and Greg Hughes. The overall range of artists is fantastic in the space and I got a real sense of the local area and an Australian feel.

Redland Museum in Cleveland is a wonderful glimpse into life in south east Queensland in the early…read more19th Century. I love wandering through the exhibits and imagining how it must have been. for a relatively small. volunteer-run operation, the displays are really well maintained and diverse. My favourites are the clothes - gorgeous women's dresses - and the dolls - but there's an emphasis on farm maachinery and a blacksmith's shop as this was predominanatly a farming coommunity. there's also a Cobb & Co. coach, a maritime display and lots more. At only $5 for adults and $1 for kids, it's an interesting place to visit for a day out - with lunch at a local pub or fish and chips on the bay perhaps?

RPAC is a great venue, right next to Cleveland train station. It's only a couple of years old and…read moreoffers various spaces in the complex for hire including the lovely 500 seat concert hall, auditorium and a couple of foyer spaces. Each year about 20 shows are presented in the RPAC program and other community based events and exhibitions are also held there. Sometimes you can catch a great show that's touring regionally and doesn't make it the big smoke. You can take a train to Cleveland, or drive of course, there's plenty of parking, then stroll to Raby Bay harbour for a bite to eat, grab a drink at the RPAC bar and enjoy a show. Check the program.
