I saw lots of shoes within the bell curve of sizes, but I wear 11 1/2, narrow. When I asked about my size, the sales clerk recommended I go to the clearance zone. Nothing really there, either. If, as the signs say, "We have your size!" why should I have to go to the special clearance area? They should really change the sign to "We have most sizes!" If you have a shoe size somewhere in the 6-9 range, there are lots of choices, varieties, options. Lucky you! For the rest of us... nope. And don't tell me, "Just go to the website!" I wanted to find some basic low-slung black pumps. To try them on before I bought them. I shouldn't have to go online for that. Added note: I tried to give DSW Shoes a second chance. I went to their website, looked up women's shoes, then pumps and applied my shoe size filter: 11.5 narrow. The result was: zero. Amazing. I can see not having a wide choice, but NOTHING? The dressing room attendant was probably the nicest person I've ever encountered at any retail store. The dressing rooms were also surprised, they're pretty clean and the doors go all the way down to the floor and are about 7 feet tall so that's the most privacy of ever experiencing my entire life trying on anything. It was very secure and comfortable. There was no line to check out as plenty of cashiers were on duty.

Not a great experience due to a pricing issue. The under garment was marked down to $4.87 with a…read moreblack pen, however, it rang up as regular price. Then the guy said that markdowns are not marked off by pen. Then I told him that there were 2 of the same things marked the same way. I went to the shelf and showed him the other 2 items with the same pricing. He consulted with his coworker and decided to call the store manager. The manager said no and it would still need to be at regular price. I've never had this happen. Usually when there is a price difference and you find others with the same price, they honor the marked price. It was an unpleasant experience and probably need to revamp their policies to honor prices that are marked, especially if there are others with the same markdown price!

She already helped my wife with shoes that slipped in the recent past, so I decided to go back to the Shoe Mill when I had the same issue with a new pair of shoes, and guess who was there again. So, what makes Michelle great at her job and stand out above the rest, she is a creative problem solver. She didn't just point me in the direction of the insoles, which there is a small wall full. The insoles were not cushiony, I really thought it was going to be a bust before Michelle came to save the day. I didn't need hard supportive insoles, I needed as she put it, to take up space. This also added cushion, which is what I wanted. I should add she remembered both my wife and I, and my wife's very unique shoes.... That's impressive. My shoes felt great and no longer slipped in the back. I will come back for any issues with fit, only because of Michelle.
