Going to be saying goodbye to RedRun campground, with this being my last season. While this campground was once a place to escape well into my adult years, it was also a place that showed me my second family. I was hoping to have my son grow here as well and breaking the news to him will be one of the hardest parts. While money can make RedRun as good as money can... the people made this a place worth staying. The seasonals started camping at RedRun, as weekenders, in the 2000s. Some even earlier. We've stayed through 3 other owners and volunteered our time, money, and assistance to RedRun and the campers. The seasonals assisted with towing weekenders during floods, coordinating and working the haunted houses, laying down the foundation for the lake sites, preforming cleanup of the lake that everyone loves, and so much more. The seasonals made friends with the neighboring Mennonites who also assisted RedRun out of the kindness of their hearts. Those same Mennonites renting land to RedRun to accommodate the new owners. Even now, they are assisting us disassemble our second homes. RedRun was the meeting point of so many important people in our lives. Friends, like family, that celebrated birthdays, weddings, new children, and even mourning of those no longer with us. Compassionate and humble people. We were provided, sooner than anticipated on 9/21/24, with the attached letter of what is to come for the 2025 season. Within, we were notified that the price was to increase 4000$ than the previous year. That we are to remove everything from our sites of over 20 years. Decking, roofs, storage fixtures, stone landscape, flag poles, decor, furniture, plants, and our trailers... thousands of dollars worth of items to be disassemble. Some trailers that have not been moved since being placed at their site. Some needing new tires, tags, and hired towing to remove. All this, while being asked to politely do so on Monday - Thursday, 11am - 4pm , as to not disrupt the other campers. Many, if not all of us, residing out of state, and maintaining full time jobs. Even if we could comply with the unreaslistic price increase, the short notice of eviction, and the weekday removal of property... we are not garunteed seasonal placement at our previous site... or any site... RedRun will pass this off as a group of sesonals that 'Don't like change'. But it's not the change that forced us into leaving, it is the lack of consideration, communication, and compassion. The inhumanity.

Great park for tent campers and campers. They have 5 or 6 sites to accommodate class a or b over 30ft. Sites are on the small side. No sewage, the offer a service to remove waste. Good plase to camp for a couple days in larger rigs. Clean Campground, in the middle of dairy frame and Amish. You can hear the clickety clack of horses hooves as the buggies pass by. Don't take Mountain Church road there are a few low lying trees. Red Run to Mountain rd is the safer bet.

I'm not sure how large of a space the tent sites are but the RV spaces have plenty of room.

Very nice campground. Well maintained. Our site was right on the crick so we were able to lounge in our tubes. They have a pool asc well as other activities. They also have a little store in case you forgot something.

We stayed 2 nights, our site #46 is huge, we could fit another RV in for sure. We are backed onto the river & it's really clean. Good for a bit of a dip or a fish. The pool is big & full of kids. That's not a bad thing, just not my thing. Hahaha the staff are friendly, the shop im has some really good local icecream. But for me watching the Amish ride past in their horse & buggies is just cool as. Great spot & our site was $40 a night. So worth it

Yes, it is quite hilly throughout the campground, but the individual sites are very level to park the camper with almost no blocks needed. We had two sites this trip with water and electric, but they do have quite a few full hook-up sites. Overall the sites were large, with trees between, providing additional privacy. Except for the Plateau sites, which have the amazing view, the rest of the campground had a great tree cover! Too often private campgrounds attempt to squeeze as many sites as possible and end up with campers on top of their neighbors, but at Starlight, the sites felt very secluded. Water pressure and electric were both great throughout the stay. There is no internet, but we had good cell phone service. The employees in the camp store are amazing and go out of their way to make you feel welcome! I felt everyone went above and beyond to help me from the reservation process through check-in. The camp store is well stocked and also serves hand-dipped ice cream. Starlight is a nice campground to relax or explore central Pennsylvania.

It was quiet. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Our son was getting married and this was reasonably close. The other 2 campgrounds that were other options were on top of the tollway and a shooting range. This was soooo much better. They have sites that look over the valley. The view was breathtaking, but we preferred the shaded sites. If we had a reason to be in the area again, we would certainly return!

A fun and relaxing campground! This was our 4th visit over…read morethe last three years to Sun Retreats in Lancaster and we had a great time. We have enjoyed the numerous upgrade/updates that have been made throughout the campground since Sun Outdoors has taken over. The site spaces are better than average with tree cover between most of them, except the few near the Friendship Circle. The sites we've stayed in have been very level with good water pressure. SR has lots of accessible amenities including playgrounds, mini-golf, boating and hiking trails. The pools are our favorite amenities. There is a splash pad for small toddlers, a small play pool for beginners, and outdoor pool that is connected to a large indoor pool and a nice hot tub! Many hours have been spent at these pools. A snack bar/restaurant is beside the pool complex. There are weekly activities planned for guests. This past weekend there was a scavenger hunt throughout the campground, which was planned by the seasonal campers. We had a blast running (then borrowing a golf cart) to complete the hunt! One of the things that sets SR Lancaster apart from the other campgrounds are the seasonal campers. We are always impressed how welcoming and friendly the seasonal campers are towards those of us who visit for weekends/short periods. This welcoming attitude does not happen at other campgrounds!! My wife and I said when we are finally ready to have a seasonal site, this would be where we would make our home. We have already booked future visits to return. Highly Recommend.

went glamping with the Fam this Aug 2023 and had a great time!…read more we booked their pet-friendly cabins and everything was clean and in good condition. we love the screened porch where we can sit outside and not be bothered by insects and where our dogs can enjoy themselves too. There were 4 adirondack chairs by the fire pit which was great coz we forgot to bring our folding chairs! lol It was tricky finding the cabins at night though since the area is huge but we managed. We loved the campgrounds and that there are many fun things to do for all ages - there was a painting activity, fishing, wagon ride, live band on a saturday night, they have an arcade, mini golf, pools, etc and our fave was their paddle boats. It a beautiful scene by their lake so even if we dont necessarily have an activity we just go there to stroll and watch the view. Their general store has everything you need as well from first aids, to smores, souvenirs, hoodies, toiletries, breads, milk, everything! and the staff we encountered are all wonderful. We loved riding our golf carts, which we highly recommend renting so you get to cover more ground and get from one place to another quick. Definitely a fun place and a great way to spend some time with the family!
