And she kept mentioning the hot breakfast and we are looking forward to it even though it's just going to be the standard fare but Penny made it sound like the best breakfast in the state. The rooms were spacious, bright, and clean. We love the way soap is provided even though it doesn't smell the best but certainly cuts back on single use plastic. The room smelled fresh and updated. My only question is why the pot and oven mitt in a room that doesn't have a stove. Finally, the pool was open. We were promised a pool o Fort Worth but it was broken. The pool room was really warm. The hot tub was a little too hot but the pool was a good temperature. And all chairs were lounge chairs. They even provided wipes to clean before and after use. I can't ask for more. If I were to ever pass through again and need a room, I would go out of my way to stay here. Keep up the good work!!

But the most incredible part about the entire day was the staff!!! From the setup, to the bartenders, to the servers! Everyone bent over backwards to ensure that we had everything we need... including anticipating what we might need. They even helped "pack up" and load our cars! Truly exceptional customer service which helped the event be perfect! I would definitely recommend this beautiful venue.

There was a beautiful ranch style home that was upstairs and downstairs and had a few bedrooms throughout the home (I didn't get a chance to walk around and view all the rooms) but I did see a pool table at the top of the stairs which was opened to overlook the living room and dining room. The reception building was beautifully lit with more than enough room and table and chairs to seat a wedding of 100+ people. And it was air conditioned!!! So that was a huge plus!! The bathroom in the reception area was huge and had a small loveseat in it for any mothers who may need to breast feed in private. But there was only 1 bathroom in the reception hall so that was a bummer. The only other thing that would've been nice but wasn't a huge deal was the outdoor seating area. Because it was 90-100 degrees there was no shade for anyone unless you grabbed the seats closest to the trees! But all in all beautiful place to hold an event!

This is specifically about our experience at the independently owned Wichita Falls location. We also went in with reasonable expectations. We knew it was offseason and figured some activities would be scaled back and hours would be shorter -- fine, that's normal. What we didn't expect was for so much of what the resort advertises to just... not be available, especially with it being 105-107 degrees the whole time we were there. The main water park was closed Monday through Thursday and most of Friday. The regular pools shut down at 7pm even though it was still light out and still hot. The camp store was barely open. That's not an offseason schedule, that's a resort that's mostly closed while still charging full price. The part that really got under my skin: at one point the water park was open -- but only for an outside school group, while resort guests were still being told it was closed. I don't know what arrangement was behind that and I'm not going to guess, but if I'm paying to stay there, I think it's fair to ask why a group that isn't even staying at the resort gets access before the people who are. When it did finally open for guests, around 5pm, two lifeguards showed up and then spent most of the next couple hours standing in a corner chatting with their backs to the slides. So whatever the reasoning was for keeping it closed all day, it didn't look like a staffing issue. The property itself was rough. Potholes, weeds coming up through the concrete, tile missing or falling apart around the water features, tar stuck to our campsite pad, dog waste on the pad when we pulled in, leftover trash and old camper parts sitting around, cars that looked broken down or just abandoned in random spots, plywood sheets serving as the walkway to one of the kids' inflatables. Any one of these on its own wouldn't be a big deal. All of it together made the place feel neglected in a way that didn't match the pictures. There was also a moment with the campground speed limit that stuck with me. I was over the 5 mph limit, no argument there, but going slow and careful on a completely empty road -- no other cars, no golf carts (besides the one about to be mentioned), no pedestrians in sight. Two employees in a golf cart flagged me down and made a whole production out of it. I wasn't cited, and I'm not saying rules don't apply just because no one's around. It was the manner -- the theatrics of it on an empty road -- that irked me, not the fact that I got flagged at all. They adamantly waved their hands - in unison - like I was going 50mph, when I hadn't even breached 15. Mind you, the front of the park is about 1/2 mile from our campsite. 5mph with guests all over and kids running across the street? No questions asked. Rules are rules; I'm okay with that, but don't throw your hands up at down like you're red flagging an F1 race. Ask me to stop and have a conversation with me. It's the manner of the interaction that caught me, not the request to slow. Watched them do the same thing to another guest a bit later. Then there was the veteran discount on a golf cart rental -- I had to drive all the way back to prove my status for what amounted to about $15 off. Again, fine, they're allowed to ask for proof. But stacked on top of everything else, it started to feel like the small stuff was getting way more attention than the big stuff. Do you really think I'm making it up? For $15? That's really the whole complaint. I can deal with offseason hours. I can deal with an older property showing some age. I can deal with rules. What's hard to deal with is paying for the full Jellystone experience while most of it is closed, the grounds are falling apart, and the staff energy goes toward policing the handful of guests who are actually there instead of fixing any of it. There's real potential in this location, and Paula alone makes up for some of it. But based on this stay, I wouldn't go back to Wichita Falls unless there's a real, visible change in how amenities are run, how the property is maintained, and how guests are treated.

Today is July 24, 2025…read more I stayed here 2 nights recently. Monday-Wednesday morning. Took my 6 year old and we enjoyed the waterpark and overall it was fun for him. BUT upon initially going into our cabin (#3) I noticed a musty mildew type smell. I thought it was probably from the age on the place and it seemed clean so I wasn't too worried about it. Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon and I started scratching at what I thought was a mosquito bite on my jawline. Later that evening I noticed several more bites that I thought were mosquitos but I had not seen a single mosquito in the several days we had been in Wichita Falls... odd! Wednesday morning I had more bites, all slowly swelling and getting redder and itchier and I spotted the culprit. A BED BUG! We were having fun and considered extending our stay but after that I quickly packed and could not get out of there fast enough. It's now Thursday night and I have at least 21 nasty itchy bites on me, slowly swelling, getting redder and larger every day and I'm googling bed bugs. They are on my hand, face, arms, back, neck and shoulders. I still have new ones showing up and they may not all show up for 14 days! I told the young woman at the front desk when I checked out and she did not seem all that concerned about it. I wrote a message through the website's portal and have not received a response. I am writing this review with hopes that someone takes this seriously and does something about this. The musty smell I was smelling is typical of a bed bug INFESTATION! Wish I had known that 4 days ago! My 6 year old has a small red spot on his face and I am overwhelmed with concern that he has bites that may not react and/or show up for another 2 weeks! This place needs a serious treatment from a professional pesticide applicator and all of the bedding, mattresses, box springs, furniture probably needs to be burned! DO NOT STAY IN CABIN #3 OR ANY OF THE CABINS CONNECTED TO IT! CHECK FOR BED BUGS! If you smell musty/mildew turn around and leave! My boy had so much fun but I am so disappointed! No way we should have ever been allowed to go in that cabin! I hope no one else does either!

A few miles out on a dirt road, off Hwy 7 and 65, you will come to an old farm looking venue. There is a silo type building that is used for the men's dressing and waiting area, a room off the main "hall/barn" for the bride's room. Both rooms are decorated and perfect for the occasion. The main room is wide open with a bar area. The A/C worked wonderfully which was awesome since temps were in the 100s at wedding time. Large round tables with chairs are for use, plus benches for seating outside. Outside the main building you'll find a pavilion with areas for seating and viewing. Spotted around the venue are round bales of hay, a tractor, wooden benches, large grassy fields and a trail to a pond. The large grassy field was perfect for sunset pictures. There's a dance floor under strings of lights. The background for pictures is amazing! There is also an outside, covered, bar area as well. I helped decorate for the wedding and inside a large storage room were TONS of decorations that we were free to use if we wanted; lanterns, imitation flowers, signs, chalkboards, watering cans, burlap, lace, crates, table cloths, vases, it was like Hobby Lobby exploded in there! We did bring our own décor, but this place had so much more to help us accentuate and perfect this wedding day. I think the only downside to the venue was the amount of wasps that were around. We sprayed the area several times the day prior, and morning of, the wedding so by the time the guests arrived it was a lot more under control and not an issue really. I was not in charge of booking, nor had any contact with the owner, but it was obvious that this place was loved and had a lot of thought go into it. This venue would be awesome for any wedding... simple or fancy. It also would be ideal for any other large gathering such as family reunions or company picnics. Lots of parking, lots of grassy area, plenty of indoor and outdoor room for seating and tables. This could not have been any more perfect for our much loved bride and groom!!
