After being with my friends for less than an hour I ran into my parents again and my mom had bought a purse from a man who's brand name was Modi. She told me how nice Mauro was, what a deal she got (I couldn't believe what she paid for such a beautiful bag), and that I should go check it out. If I had the money and the time, I could easily have bought five bags from him, but being pressed for time (and money) I left with a beautiful wallet. He hand makes everything and is one of the most genuinely nice men you could ever meet. If I am ever back in Assisi I will definitely be visiting his shop again.

Now I know why I didn't purchase any leather in Florence, Italy. I was waiting to stumble across…read moreMauro and his beautiful one of kind pieces of leather. What sold me on buying a leather duffle bag was a sewing machine sitting right in the middle of the shop that was old and showed much evidence of being used. We were in a rush and couldn't hang out more to look around but it all looked wonderful. If and when we return of Italy we are definitely making a stop here. I hope he sets up a website sometime soon.
