If you find yourself in Naga Bicol, treat yourself to a stop at Red Platter. I can almost certainly say you won't be sorry. Known locally for their fusion twists on Bicolano delights this place is sure to keep you coming back for more.
The service is very warm and friendly, and although they don't stop by during the meal, they are very attentive, I never had to ask for a refill of water. Much above par I'd say! Good job!
On to the delights of the day!!
The Bicolano Pizaa: was wonderful! Simple yet elegant. This dish was packed full of flavor, a true delight for the palette. Half of the pizza is shrimp and the other half pork, not overly dressed as you can see in the photos and with the flavor of laing! Yes that's right, laing with some heat to it as well. At first I was very skeptical, yet being a house specialty, you have to give it a try. Super duper yummy! A must have.
Bicolano cordon bleu: another twist on chicken cordon bleu, they use laing as well for the stuffing instead of ham and cheese. I thought it was quite good, although I couldn't get past the pizza, that was one of the most awesome treats I've had in a very long time (the pizza).
Bicol express: what can I say, were in Bicol! Besides being scrumptious, I can only say, it was hot... Hot! Chili hot! Great for chili lovers for sure, I loved it, yet I found myself drinking a pitcher of water while eating it.
Overall a great experience. Simply wonderful. Thanks for the absolutely memorable meal, I won't ever forget that pizza!
EDIT: So I bought some Pili Butter Cookies and Cream Cheese Brownies... Yeah yeah... So I intended to bring these home and share but the craving took over while on the drive home. I mean 1 cookie couldn't hurt right? or 2? maybe 5! The pili cookies were off the chain! This was in fact my first time having these, I imagine these aren't the end all be all of pili butter cookies so I'll be keeping my eyes open. The cream cheese brownies were pretty good too, super soft and moist, just like a brownie should be! I heart this place!
Stay hungry my friends.
