Came to red lobster today at around 5 pm. Food was good but customer service was horrible! I didnt get the employees name but she was light-dark skinned and a little chubby. She was extremely rude! She kept giving attitude all throughout. First thing, my bf decided to ask another waitress that was passing by if he can change the plate to his accomodation. The waitress explained to him how to tell our waitress we wanted it so it can be ok. When the waitress got there we told her how he wanted i and she said "oh nope cant do that" with a loud rude tone of voice. I told her "well another one of the waitress said we can" and she said well some of the waitresses are new and dont know much" like ok who says that? She was not helpful at all! After, we got our deserts to go and one to eat at the restaurant. The portiom she gave us our desert to go was incredibly small compared to the one she served us im the reataurant. Seems like she did all this on purpose. She made my family and i feel very uncomfortable, so much that i and will avoid this location. My family is never the one to complain because we are also considerate, and dont know if the person is having a bad day but this is just unacceptable, even if im tired i dont act this way. If you cant handle customer seevice then dont do It!!!! Bottom line is, yes i know red lobster is well known and will probably not be noticeable if one less client stops going but if you continue to hire employees like this, it will affect this location tremendously. Our server was nothing but the best. Duane S has definitely set the bar up for servers in there. He noticed that we were sitting at the table for a long time, he approached us and asked us if we have been helped. My husband told him no, and Duane S. took over from there. He was very pleasant and presentable. He was very happy to go through the menu with us and had lots of patience. My husbands asks a lot of of question and Duane had patience to answer every single question. Which I appreciate because a lot of the times servers get frustrated with him. I ordered endless shrimp and my husband ordered a strip and lobster. Delicious! I was glad I had the opportunity to try every single flavor of shrimp in the endless shrimp selection, my favorite was the Nashville. I loved the Nashville one so much that I wanted to take some home, however Duane informed me that I couldn't take some to go because it was a in store promotion. Terribly salty! Ha ha! Seasalt? From the bread to calamari, to salmon and even the steamed broccoli--it's riddled with salt!

Hadn't been to Red Lobster for awhile, but I remembered that I did enjoy their Lobster Tails. BIG MISTAKE !!! Had the $33.99 special with two tails and Lobster and Shrimp Linguine. It was explained to me that the large tail was Rock Lobster, which was larger but not as high quality as the smaller tail - Maine Lobster. Large tail lacked any flavor and was tough and chewy. The small tail was edible but lacked taste also. I would have sent it back but I didn't realize the large tail was so bad until I got it home. The linguine was tasty but drenched in butter(?), margarine (?, flavored (oil ). the calorie count for the meal was 1490. Lobster tails have about 90 calories each, so the linguine and dressing was about 1290. Ouch!!! Not a heart healthy meal! The server was very nice and got a nice tip, so the total was about $40.00 Again ouch! I am off Red Lobster for life. read more

I ordered a fruity fru fru drink and asked for Sky vodka instead of rum, they gave me Grey Goose (which is fine, but did not tell me) and charged me $4.95 on top of the drink itself- did not get that. Visited the restaurant last night with my son, grandmother and cousin. Ordered the Mudslide and it was delicious! For appetizer I recommend the calamari and veggies. As an entree I enjoyed the wild Alaskan salmon grilled to perfection. Great service by Janet. Overall an enjoyable experience. Will be back soon! read more

A must stop for seafood lovers. When I am on a business trip travelling from San Francisco to San Diego I never forget to stop by this reataurant and partake on their scrumptious seafood entrees. I hang out at the bar and get served by a welcoming staff. The price is just right and you are guaranteed to walk away with a full stomach. The new salad dressing called champagne is a delight. Plenty of parking courteous staff and just the right space to enjoy a delightful meal. read more

Honestly I never write bad reviews but I felt this one was necessary for such high prices. First of all, they only had one server at 9pm on a Saturday serving the whole restaurant and she was super laid back leaning on the side of the wall while she was taking orders not even acting like she wanted to be there. Super annoying when you're trying to have a nice dinner and you're server looks like she doesn't even want to be there. I ordered a sirloin steak and asked for it medium well, they gave it to me burnt like not even well done just burnt. It was super dry and tasted horrible, the lobster was the only thing that was good but ended up paying 92 dollars for some burnt steak and mashed potatoes and some lobster. Never again! read more

Took my mom out to eat for Mother's Day and we both loved it. Our server, Joey, was polite and super helpful. When he saw our drinks getting low he refilled them without us having to ask, he made sure we knew our food was coming soon, asked us how we were liking our meal and was just and overall great server. We ordered the Shrimp Nachos as our appetizer. I was a bit skeptical at first, but ended up loving the appetizer. My mother ordered the Wood Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops which she loved. I ordered the Salmon New Orleans and was very pleased with it, it wasn't dry--as salmon has a tendency of getting--and it was topped with shrimp and a delicious sauce. Had such a great time tonight. The service was really good for a change. Our server is extremely pleasant and helpful as to what is real good on the dessert menu. We enjoyed the lobster pizza and for dessert had the "chocolate wave" and "warm apple crostada" Fred by far the best server at this place! We go to red lobster a few times a year, and always make a point to go at least once during unlimited shrimp. So we were on a little vacation and decided to make this our unlimited shrimp visit. Since we are from out of town we had never been to this location. We went at 6pm on a Tuesday. We were seated right away by a courteous hostess. We were seated in the back with other patrons. It was nice a quiet for about the first half hour then the music got turned up, which was a little loud for us. My husband had to come sit next to me instead of across from me because he couldn't hear me. Our server was nice and pretty attentive given that by now it's starting to get busier. We got our orders and refills on shrimp fairly quickly. Over all it was a good experience all the way around. I loved that our server wrote God bless on our receipt. I wish more businesses let their employees express their beliefs no matter what their beliefs are. If it had been another religion I would of been just as happy, because to me its a good feeling knowing someone truly wishes me well to their God. Thanks! read more

went here for dinner last night with two friends, server was smiling but you could tell she was not paying attention to us, friends salad arrived with a fly in it, we had to flag down someone else to find our server , they did offer to replace salad but she did not want another salad after that, food was good but not once during the meal did anyone refil our drinks, and then she came and dropped off our bull without even offering desert, when I asked for desert she seemed irritated and went to get it without asking my friends if the y would like one too. for a bill that ended up about $50. per person we could have gone to the wharf for better service. read more

I went to red lobster for takeout today, to try and bring my 97 year old mother something to tempt her failing appetite. I made a mistake, and ordered popcorn shrimp, when I mean to order her favorite, coconut shrimp. When I realized it, Jonathan at the counter said it will only take us a minute, let me get you some coconut shrimp, ran back, cooked it right up, and handed it to me, with his wishes that my mother enjoy and feel better! You made my day, Jonathan, that was so kind. It was my mistake, you did not need to do that. Great customer service! AND, in my worried state about my mom, I left my cell phone at the restaurant. It took me three hours to realize it, but when I returned to Red Lobster, Jonathan had it safely saved for me---catastrophe averted! I am now a big fan of RED LOBSTER Salinas, and Jonathan! Went to the restaurant tonight to celebrate my sister's and my birthday. Was very disappointed they were out of desert for the 4 course meal. So they could not offer this meal they were also out of steak. We didn't get silverware until we asked for it. We had balloons and gifts on the table we wore birthday necklaces and hats and not once did our server acknowledge our birthday. We were not even offered if we wanted to buy desert. Our server was the worst she was not friendly at all didn't smile. If you don't like your job then find another one!!! I didn't get a receipt so I don't even know her name. Since I live so close to Monterey I don't normally eat at a red lobster, seems silly. But I decided to give it a try. I was surprised by the cleanliness of the place and by the great customer service I received. I tried a great raspberry tea there as well. But, the food was so deeply entrenched in oil, grease, and fat that I couldn't eat it. Had to take it home and bake it in order to get all that off. My food was literally wading in it. I don't have any plans on going here again but it's only because of the food and how much they charge you for it. I just don't see paying that much for grease. read more

Standard Red Lobster, nothing special here,but I am rating a phone experience when calling about reservations, which it says here on YELP, they take, but they do NOT. Actually pretty rude about it, I just asked the kid that answered, he said they don't but that I could talk to a manager. I was fine with the policy, but he acted like maybe an exception could be made, so I was like sure, I will talk with the manager. Connie gets on the phone and proceeds to explain in a very condescending monotone non caring voice, that, "yeah we know its graduation, but still its first come first serve....." blah blah blah. Our first time there. I had the feast. It was ok but not great. There wasn't too much flavor but I ate it all. The biscuits were great. The salads were fairly pathetic. Just bagged head lettuce probably from FoodMaxx next door. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive. The cranberry Boston iced tea was very good, also. For a Saturday at lunchtime it was fairly empty which is surprising. I assume BJs is taking away from their customer base. If it weren't for the gift card we had we probably would have gone elsewhere. But no harm. We had an enjoyable time. Beware, there are really no vegetarian options if that applies to you. read more

I usually don't care for Red Lobster, but my family likes it so I went. We had the "choose 2" appetizer sampler and got the calamari and veggies and the clam strips. MMM deep fried fish! I was kinda confused on why they gave us marinara sauce to dip instead of cocktail, but whatever. I had the seafood stuffed sole which was good, and the others had the Captain's Platter and the Blackened Catfish. All looked good and everyone was pleased. I must say Red Lobster has really turned it up in the past few years. The Red Lobster here was always good...but not great. BJs came in and it seemed like Red Lobster did their remodel to stay up. The food tastes fresher, the drinks taste better and the wait staff has really taken an interest in their customers. I always get the NY Strip and Rock Lobster Tail and my fiance goes for the Seaside Shrimp Trio. Had a gift card so I took my mom, dad and sister there two Saturdays ago for dinner. Place was busy. Was told it would be a fifteen minute wait. Didn't pay attention to the wait time, but no big deal. In short, all was good except for my sister's drink, which didn't really have any alcohol in it and the calamari and broccoli which were overly fried! I've only been to this location once and a San Jose location once many years ago. My San Jose location experience was the best of the two! Won't be going back to this location. Typical chain restaurant, predictable and consistent in both fare and service. It'll never be confused for a fine dining establishment, but it will also never appear on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives".
