I had to wait a few minutes for my menu, which is OK, meaning it was prepared on the spot. However, even this menu was not warm! Staff was friendly.

Rum is small, but en-suite and has most of what you need. We had a good night sleep and a very decent breakfast the day after. Good value for money and a great place to relax!

They have a few hot items on the menu and a few sandwiches in the display case you can get as well. I got the chicken salad and it was delicious and very generous portion. My husband got the soup and thought it was very good and rich. They have lots of little dessert cakes and bakery items to chose from as well. It only takes about 10 or so minutes for our order to come out after ordering from the counter. This definitely has more of a lunch vibe than dinner and would be a good spot if you are nearby.

The evening police presence at the door seemed to imply that it may get rowdy on some nights, but I had a great time and found my fellow patrons to be quite plesent. Driving from Gothenburg to Stockholm (or vice versa), you pass by perhaps Sweden's prettiest lake -…read moreLake Vättern. It's a gorgeously blue lake rimmed by hills. Gyllene Uttern (Golden otter) is a lovely hotel and café along the eastern shore and a perfect rest spot with a scenic vista to enjoy a Swedish fika (Jause in Austrian, coffee break in English). The café here serves up various teas and coffees along with your favorite Swedish sweets (think Kanelbullar). Of course there are more substantial dishes as well and the Räksmörgås (shrimp sandwich) is excellent. On a sunny day enjoy your treats on the open air terrace overlooking Lake Vattern. If it is too cool, don't worry. There are large picture windows in the café looking towards the lake. A stop at Gyllene Uttern leaves you completely refreshed and sufficiently refueled to continue on to Stockholm!

There's a full blown ala crate lunch restaurant and a cafe. We both had the pulled pork sandwich (served grilled with cheese and veggies) which was a very good light lunch alternative when wanting to move on with your travels. Nothing amazing but a very decent road stop.

The choice…read moreof mezze is extensive and the presentation on the plate exceptional as you can see from the photo. Generally the food was very good but I deducted a star as it suffered from the usual canteen problems of standing ready for some time, e g. the tabouleh was a bit soggy. I had the medium sized meal for one and it was very big, the small is probably sufficient, the large insane (the staff warned me about it). The locale itself is without charm but as a takeaway really excellent. I love Lebanese food but this place really was a positive surprise.
