    radical bowl

holy cow. has to be some of the freshest tuna and salmon i've ever had. customer service was fast and friendly. definitely will come back here!!

In Seattle for work and decided to get sushi. I love mom & pop shops and this place HIT THE SPOT. There was a line which to me is a good thing; they got orders in/out so quick. I probably only waited 3-5 min. I got the Samurai bowl and yall this bowl is girthy af. The salad they have underneath the bowl is delicious, sweet, savory and citrusy dressing that pairs well with the fresh cuts of fish. I wish I walked down to the pier to enjoy it but the phoenix girl in me couldn't handle the cold lol. I will definitely be coming back every time I come to Seattle (which is often lol). Support your local business!!!

I went all out and tried the Samurai bowl-- and WOW it was so delicious and filling! It was filled with a generous amount of seafood, including several kinds of tuna, salmon, octopus, and white fish, as well as rice, steamed veggies, avocado, and tamago. Everything was fresh and tasty. Such a nice simple delicious meal to have during my quick visit. Service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. It's not the most aesthetic place, so I find it to be more of a takeout spot, but I appreciate that they have plenty of seating to dine in. These bowls don't look huge, but I probably could have made 2 meals out of mine. Since I didn't have access to a fridge for leftovers, I ate it all in one sitting and then crawled my way out of the restaurant.

Red Bowls is a solid lunch spot for anyone who works in Downtown. You will most certainly see a long line during lunch hour, but the service is quick here. There are some indoor seatings here, but most people order to-go. I always get the Alaskan Bowl which comes with salmon, imitation crab, steamed vegetables, and rice (it used to include avocado). The portion is huge, and one bowl keeps me full for the day. Aside from poke, they also have warm bowls (bibimbap, udon, cooked fish bowls, etc.).

Solid lunch spot! The service was incredibly fast, I was in and out of there in what felt like under 1 minute. I got the Alaskan Bowl which cost $16 after tax. The bowl is a generous portion of food, with salmon, crab, avocado, and lots of greens and some rice. Everything is super well seasoned and tasted fresh. Will definitely be coming back!

Be prepared to give your order while waiting in line. Friendly guy who takes your order wants you to get your food quick! I had the Samurai. Hearty portions. Very delicious. Will return for their hot food choices.

Before going back to California, I asked my boyfriend to grab me a chirashi bowl from here for me. One of our friends recommended this shop in downtown and had to check it out as my boyfriend worked in downtown! It's located where the FedEx and 7-Eleven are located in the Central Building. There's only street parking around which is very difficult to find. They're also only opened during M-F lunch times... so it's relatively hard to find the time to go unless you work in or near downtown or have one of the days off. I got the Samurai Bowl which came with a variety of protein (salmon, tuna, crab, albacore, whitefish, tako, tamago) and vegetables (avocado, daikon, cabbage, broccoli (SUPER WEIRD HONESTLY)). The fishes weren't bad! There wasn't that freshness to them but the cuts were HUGE. The entire bowl itself was too much for me to finish. I didn't really like the whitefish much as it had the most fishy flavor. Ironic thing to say LOL. The only thing that really threw me off was the broccoli in the bowl.... why was there broccoli? And cabbage? I was so confused LOL But aside from that, the entire bowl was delicious! Overall, this shop was a great place to grab lunch from as the prices weren't too bad and the portions were big! Would love to come back to try their other bowls in the future.

    Bulgogi bibimbap bowl

Located in the heart of downtown, just a couple blocks from the courthouse and city hall. This place has some traditional Korean dishes. I opted for a bi bim bap bowl with bulgogi. Called in my order about 10 minutes before I walked to the restaurant. It was there ready for me to pay for and zip right back to the office. This dish was served in a deep bowl with a container of the traditional gochujang used to mix into the dish. They even gave me an over easy egg on top to mix into this bowl of comfort food. I appreciated the healthy serving of bulgogi and vegetable mix. The gochujang sauce was on point from how I'm used to having it. Other places will either water it down or leave a thick paste that doesn't mix well. Overall great authentic bowl that I grew up eating.

Visit this restaurant second time after 4 years, since 2019. Owner of the restaurant is as friendly as before. We ordered Alaskan and Seattle in the noon and dined in. Obviously due to remote work and pandemic, it's less busier than 4 years ago. During our stay, there are 7 or 8 customers coming and taking out. There is no line in the lunch hour but the food quality is as good as before and the size as large as before. Services are super fast and we feel good at this restaurant in the downtown with only 4 tables. We ordered Alaskan Bowl and Seattle. They tasted fresh and good.

    Alaskan Bowl with no rice
    Philip P.

Surprised this was basically the lone surviving small Asian restaurant that survived the pandemic by my office building and happy that it did because it's still a solid place to get lunch at work. Crazy enough, a line still forms outside! Somethings don't change I guess.... Well sort of. The prices have gone up since the past 3 years, but that's expected. The food is still the same. Although when I ordered my usual Alaskan bowl with no rice, it tasted kind of funny. Not sure why, but maybe it's just this one time. Still a very popular place in downtown Seattle for lunch. Price is reasonable I guess. And food is decent. Love the bibimbap and love the raw fish bowls. Wait time can vary. Expect 10-15 minutes, on average, to be in line and have your order taken.

They are only open for lunch, but very fast service and good bang for your buck. They do make you order fast to help get through the lunch rush so I got a little flustered/was shocked, but please with what I got. They had some tables to sit at. Small space for prep and such but may try again Uc downtown for lunch and in a hurry

Finally paid a visit had been on my friend and my list of places to try for awhile she was treating me to lunch for my birthday and we decided to walk from work. We both had the Samurai Bowl. Generous amount of fish. Liked that they use cabbage enjoyed the textural crunch and kept it from having too much rice. Everything was fresh. There is a sesame dressing on the cabbage and broccoli which are under the fish and the rice is on the bottom. Would definitely come back if I'm near maybe try one of the hot bowls in the winter. Service was quick and friendly.

They don't take phone calls or reservations online - very old school. Which I think makes it more desirable. We ended up getting a special room with a "chabudai" style table! I was super excited because I've never experienced it before. What I did find pleasant was that although it was a lower table, there was an opening beneath the table that allowed your legs to hang rather than having to sit Indian style. Tyson was an amazing server. Was attentive, accommodated our allergies and was thoughtful with us having a young child. He was so pleasant and polite! We enjoyed the following: Baked miso glazed eggplant - YUM and melts in your mouth. Black Miso Cod Collar - this was pleasantly surprising and so delicious. Eat bite was tender and flavorful. Simple yet so appetizing. Sushi rolls were both fresh and well prepared. The nigiri was also great and fresh- not fishy. We additionally ordered takoyaki - which I normally don't love but this one was very tasty and I enjoyed the texture. Lastly karage chicken which came with a creamy slaw. Overall it was such a pleasant experience and we look forward to coming back!

Great portions of omelette and protein! Rice is very fluffy and beds the curry perfectly. I tried this to go for the very first time, and it worked really well as well. I would recommend getting the Hamburg for to go, as katsu don't hit the same as eating freshly deep fried. But the Hamburg is also what I order when I eat in. Portions are rather large, so with kids, I split one large size and I add extra protein. We do katsu and hamburg. Very very very delicious! Always recommend. Decent portions of rice lathered in sweet curry with the protein of your choice - not too shabby. A bit pricey in my opinion, but it does scratch that itch. My wife and I ordered both the pork and chicken cutlets with the curry and rice. Presentation of the food was on point, and there's enough for both the rice partnership and the cutlets for dipping purposes. The sweet and warm Japanese curry felt like a welcomed hug on a cold and brisk May afternoon. The biggest complaint was actually the cutlets - despite a nice crunch to it, something felt a little off. Like the cutlets were a bit old or were previously reheated or something. I had to drench each slice with curry to fully enjoy the meal. At the end of the day, two regular-sized curry dishes actually made us quite full and content. We left feeling stuffed and warm - the perfect combination for a chilly spring day. I would say this was a bit pricey for my liking, but what isn't pricey these days in this economy? Solid 4 stars!

The chicken katsu definitely had more meat and a thinner layer of breading as an FYI. I ordered the sushi combo for 38 dollars and got great tasting sushi for that price. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you want somewhere casual with good options and little extra items mixed in with your meals. It's definitely not like Umi, or Shirros but you're also paying like 1/3 to 1/2 the price.
