I had a flat tire on my rental car on 77 in the pouring rain. I am traveling by myself and the owner showed up with his wife and they were so incredibly kind to me! They let me ride in the wrecker with them to the rental car company in the airport and stayed with me until they were sure I had another car and was on my way. read more

The worst road side service in my life--of 60 years of driving''---we called AAA to have a tire on our tow behind camper switched with a spare because we saw a bubble in the sidewall----Red Barn came out---in order to jack up the camper ( most tow trucks have a small portable hydraulic hand jack ) he had me back up on a large 10 inch high piece of wood that had been cut with a 45 degree angle---this saved him time---but by the time you accelerate enough to get up this strongly angled piece of wood--you have to stop within about 12 inch on the top or the back tire goes off the back and the piece of wood gets jammed between the 2 tires--this is what happened---he worked a while pounding and finally got unstuck---then he put on the spare--I asked him to check the air pressure on the spare--it is very important to have them all at 65 psi---he said he didn't have a gauge--he'd "eyeball" it when it was down---luckily I had a gauge--it checked at 52 psi---I asked if he would fill it to 65--he said he couldn't but if I pulled to a service station we could use their air pump---luckily I had a small one we slowly used----when I called the owner to inform him---he said everything was my fault--his service request from AAA just said " change tire " so he's not responsible for being able to check or put air in my spare---he also said he can't afford to put all the stuff on all his trucks---then he hung up on me read more
