I used to use this vet all the time when Dr. Curly worked there. He was so compassionate and had great customer service. I recently took a litter of pups in for vaccinations. I was the only one in the clinic. They asked me to bring all 6 puppies in at once, even though I requested to do 3 at a time so I didn't have to risk putting them on the floor. They assured me they were ready, so I went ahead and brougth them all in. They did not return for 30 minutes; I had to ask the front desk what was going on. The vet finally came in. She was short and thicker built, and looked enraged. I almost left, I should have left. She grabbed the first puppy roughly until I looked at her and she loosened her grip and calmed down. They exam was completed and she left. Upon returning home I noticed they let the ink smudge from the stamp they used on their records, as well as they did not list breed, color, birthday, literally anything on the records. It looked so unprofessional. I called the next day and the tech who answered said to bring the records back in and she would make new ones. When I got there, the tech was getting ready to redo them when the angry vet came forward and said no. She blamed me and said they didn't let the ink dry or write in any of the pups info down because I said I was going to work after the appointment, and she didn't want me to be late. Like what? She also stated she didn't write their color or breed in because they were all the same color. Again, what?? She then got a horrible attitude with me and was raising her voice so I asked her to delete my entire profile and left. Never again. Please avoid this vet. read more

Wait time ! We did walk-in, and we were estimated an hour in a half wait time. We did receive a message informing us our place was coming up in line... only to wait another 30 minutes. 3. Meeting Brockman, was horrible she kept pushing for additional services and when questioned about them she would get visibly agitated. Don't inform if you don't have the composure to do so. The phones at this place don't work so I drove up to try to get my dog seen for vaccinations as I just moved to the area and need to establish a new vet. When I walked in they had signs up that said "we aren't seeing anymore patients today" so I asked if I needed an appointment or what I needed to do to get my dog seen by them The lady at the front was super off putting and rude when she responded and said "we don't do appointments and as you see we aren't taking patients. There's plenty of other places to go to" which was such an odd stance to jump directly to when I was just trying to learn they're process. Not sure if she was just having a bad day or what but I wouldn't recommend anyone go in here to be treated like that. No telling how poorly they treat the animals if that's how they treat people walking in wanting their services. read more

Don't ever take your animals here. They literally killed my cat. They gave my cat surgery and told me he was fine afterwards. No after care instructions, absolutely nothing. I asked if he should keep taking his meds and they said no that he didn't need them. A day later he became sick again and by the end of the night he DIED. I called to get to the bottom of it and the other vet that worked there said he would find out whoever sent me home with zero discharge instructions and why they told me to stop giving him his medication. Not to mention we had just dropped $1,100 because we were under the impression we were taking home a fully healed and healthy cat. On top of it, before his surgery they prescribed him medication and when I went to the pharmacy they said there was insufficient information on the prescription they had given me. But The vet was already closed at this time so there was nothing they could do about it, and my cat had to wait an entire extra day before receiving pills that may have saved his life. When he started to fall ill again I called the the red barn to voice my concern and ask for instructions and the woman who answered the phone "couldn't find his file" even though he had just been there a day before and offered no solutions. All of these things came into play to cause my cat who was not even 2 years old to lose his life. Maybe if they hadn't rushed him out so soon after surgery and given me misinformation on his aftercare, or maybe if they had been able to find his file when I called, or maybe if his prescription had gone through in time, maybe he would still be alive. Take your pet somewhere where they actually recognize the value of your pets life, not this place that takes forever to get into and once you do just treats them like just another number. read more

brought our dog to them for an exam because we thought she had pyometra. before even doing the exam dr brockman starts pushing a $4000-$6000 surgery on her without even knowing if she actually had it yet, getting irritated when we said we'd just like the exam now and if she does in fact have pyo we'd worry about the surgery later. they do the exam and she does in fact have open pyometra, just to tell us they can't/won't do the surgery and we have to bring her somewhere else. the other vet who spoke to us was very kind and answered all our questions with softness and respect for us obviously freaking out unlike brockman who continuously interrupted us when asking questions. unfortunately we didn't get her name. read more

I have brought my pets to this vet clinic since 2004. The last year or two this place has become awful. The vet there a high strung lady, is rude. The way they handle the walk in process is terrible. I get people can't wait in lobbies during covid but they send you to your car and you could sit in your car for an hour or longer. It's the worst set up. Have an online check in that tells you when you're up? I don't know. Take appointments? It's just the worst. So after many years, I found a new vet. Not worth my time. read more

It was extremely hard to find a Veterinary Clinic that took walk ins, but Red Barn was there for me. The hours for business is 8:30 through 12:00 and 1:00 to 5:00 Monday to Friday and Saturday hours 8:30 to 12:00. The receptionist suggested that people usually line up for afternoon visits at 12:30 for the 1:00 opening. Once greeted by the Vet, my Harlow was examined and a diagnosis was issued, along with meds and an injection. So thankful that we received the care and attention we so needed. All the Veterinary Clinics are stretched to their capacity, but thank you Red Barn for your emergency service. read more

Red Barn has been my go to vet clinic for both of my cats for several years now. They do walk-ins, and they treat my cats with lots of love. One of my cats hates coming to the vet (usually because he doesn't have to visit often, and mostly has to get shots when he does) and gets a bit aggressive, but the vet handles him really well and makes sure he gets the treatment he needs. The worst part of the vet visit is usually the wait time, because they tend to be a little busy, but they give great treatment, and they are super friendly. I recommend them especially if you're taking in a stray cat because they do a great job with preventative care. read more

Very much a waste of time. 30 minute wait time even though I was there 15 minutes before opening. And then they call me in for another 30 minute wait time in the lobby. To add on, they charge you for the most simplest questions in the world. I asked why my dog might be losing hair and received a "I think" answer. Aren't they the professionals? Wrong cone was given to my dog after stitches on his paw and the paw pad structures busted and Dr.Allison Marr treated it as an open wound. Had me come 2- 3x a week for bandage change charged me per visit when they were the ones who put the wrong cone size but as any pet parent would do you do what you gotta do to get them better. His wound started to open up and she blamed me for it like the Narcissist she is and told me to keep coming back for bandage changes also didn't give my dog antibiotics. Took my dog somewhere else for a second opinion the same day cause his wound was getting worse and I knew something wasn't rite about it. I took him somewhere else and they told me his foot was dead which is why his wound opened he was chewing at it because it was completely dead and infected and in necrosis and cold to the touch he needed an emergency amputation surgery all because Allison) was wrapping his bandages way too tight and stopped the blood circulation and caused his wound to get necrosis. She could have killed my dog if the infection would have spread the other vets even said there's now way she could have missed that and the foul odor and the obvious symptoms of necrosis with the foot being cold to the touch and his bones and veins showing. She is money hungry she sat there and let my dog suffer tightened his wraps and blamed me for my dogs wound opening up so she can get those 2-3x A week visit cost. Trust your gut when it comes to her please get a second opinion it can cost you your dogs life. read more

Definitely was quite a wait but worth it! The veterinarian knew exactly what was going on! They were short staffed for the week with one vet being on vacation and still handled the situation well! Thankful that no appointment is necessary because you can't get into any other vet within 3 weeks and emergency offices are so pricey! read more

They were very knowledgeable and very kind to my pet when doing some testing. Very happy I found Red Barn when searching for a vet.

I brought my dog here to get neutered. My regular vet is on the slightly expensive side so I opted to get the surgery done elsewhere. The procedure went great, and he was healthy. About a week after he started developing sores so I brought him back in, they gave him so antibiotics. Those antibiotics made him nauseous. So after another week I went back and they gave him a supplemental anti-nausea prescription. After a third week, he was doing worse so I took him to our regular vet and they said the sores were completely normal for healing from that procedure and he's likely getting sick from all the medication he's on. We stopped giving him the medication and he bounced back within 24 hours and healed completely normally. All in to say they weren't actually assessing my dog and had me pay an additional $200 on medications that weren't necessary, and made my dog sick. read more

We have been taking our new puppy to Red Barn since October 2020. We have gone there for all vaccinations, neutering, and a recent bout of stomach troubles. I have always been happy with the care and think they are handling COVID restrictions well. There can be a wait for walk-in, but I'm happy to wait 30 minutes or an hour vs waiting days or weeks for appts at other busy vet offices. The staff is great and very caring. I got there 15 mins after they opened, on a weekday and there already was a 2 hour long wait. After 2 hours they called and said I could come in and bring my dog in just for a vaccine with a tech or wait an extra hour to see the doctor. I have a new puppy, this was my 2nd visit, apparently I was lucky on the 1st visit. I went this morning, and I understand it was late, at 11:00. They told me they weren't taking any other appointments for the morning. I asked if they had a list I could put my name on, they said no, I'd just have to come back. When I returned at 1:05, they informed me my wait was 11/2 hr. when I said I would return in the morning, he said it was typically like this. I have been going to red barn veterinary clinic for approximately 16 years, I have not had a bad experience yet, I hate the part where your dog gets too old to function anymore and you have to put them to sleep but they do it graciously. Dr. Curly is knowledgeable and to the point doesn't mince words and let you know exactly what he thinks you need to do. They go as far is clipping toenails on my basset hound who hates his nails clipped. I took my last basset hound to another place on 76 in Kalamazoo, they told me he had cancer and put me to put him to sleep, turned out it was probably just a fatty cyst. It was closer to home so we tried it, will never use them again. I hope this finds Dr. Curly and Dr. neid Doing well in my newest dog is already a patient. read more

Wouldn't help me without seeing my dog for the same problem they had supposedly cured when sent home last. My dog, the very next day, developed the same ear infection in the other ear. Now months later its back and they want me to drive 60 miles so they can charge for an office visit and cytology to prescribe what already been prescribed in the recent past. I'd steer clear of hear as all they are concerned with is money. These Vet's have a racket going and they won't let you upset the moneycart. I'm done with them! You would be best advised to stay away as well. read more

I took my cat here for end of life care and wish I had found it sooner. I will bring any animal I have in the future here as well. They don't make you feel bad about the decisions you make (like another place that happens to rhyme with bat clinic..) Which can be pretty important when it gets to the end. They never made us feel like a burden though it's hard to imagine our more-than-once-a-week-visits weren't after awhile. They also don't try and overcharge you. Great place. Great vet. read more

My wait time was minimal on my 3 time there and when I had called to let them know that I was coming to have my dog put down, they were so compassionate and kind.
