Simply raise the prices threefold and tell people that all New Zealand beach houses look like this and you have yourself a store. In reality, New Zealand baches are full of musty, outdated and badly matched furniture from decades ago. The Beach is the inside of an interior design magazine like House and Garden. Most of the wicker baskets and beach chairs are not going to survive in a closed up, damp beach house. The best thing to do in this shop is take note of the designs and colours you like and replicate it via your nearest Salvation Army furniture, some sand paper and a lick of paint.

The furniture is all wood, often what would be referred to as possessing rustic charm, while some is oriental in style, brightly coloured in blues and yellows. These are stand out pieces and in particular the draws and cabinets are amazing. They also offer some interesting storage options, shelves that look like ladders, ladders made from wood that serve no purpose but to hang from a wall and large boxes and baskets made from white washed cane. The Beach offers something really different, if you want you home to look Vogue Living worthy then this would be the place to come.

The staff were very eager to please, but also keen on having a very loud conversation with each other. I suspect it was stock take day, because many things were still being placed and in plastic wrapping. What Victor's Choice has is a very booming Trademe business, and a few items you'll fall in love with. You do need to hunt for them though, so perhaps online business is the way to go. There was some french design furniture I really liked, but most of it wasn't my style. It's very modern and clinical for the most part. Some nice leather couches though, if you're on the hunt for those. Just don't go in store if you feel a bit claustrophobic - go on Trademe instead.

I ordered a mattress and know they have to be left 24-48 hrs before using to allow them to off-gas. I actually left this one 72 hrs, but now, a few weeks later, it is still off-gassing SO badly, it is not only affectiing MY health but also my young pup. (continual off-gassing confirmed by an industrial chemist). I wrote a nice email to them asking for refund - but the cost for pickup would be cost of mattress! I refuse to on-sell it as I don't want anyone else exposed to these crap toxic compounds these cheap importers use. This is NOT a 'change of mind' but rather a product fault which is covered under the CGA - they need to read & understand this. Of course, I will never purchase anything from them again - should have read these reviews first. Bt we will see what the CGA think. Don't waste yor money people - buy elsewhere!
