Like the Times Square of Linz! This is the place! This wide plaza is right down from…read moreNibelungenbrücke Bridge, and offers cool views of the city's oldest, most ornate buildings.
When I went, they were throwing the Christmas Market- with a big ol' Christmas tree in the center, a live band playing each night rocking Prince and country tunes. This Christmas Market had some of the best foods I'd had out of all the Christmas Markets I went to. They offered these rye breads, covered in cheese melted from giant wheels under blowtorches. Delicious. Plus, they had honey beer, and lots of local sausage varieties. Incredible.
The square has a little garden, where they obviously took pride in their cabbages and flowers they had going, even in the dead of winter. It shows such town pride!
Along the square were lots of little stores, restaurants and bars. The tram goes right through the center of it all, so it's easy to get to.
