Unfortunately we didn't understand that they would not be providing the wheelchair. They advertise "medical " transport. The driver showed up in a minivan. If my mom would have had her own wheelchair she would not have been able to ride securely in the van. She had great difficulty being lifted into the van. Not safe for an 86 year old woman recovering from hip replacement surgery. We essentially paid for a very $$$$$ expensive Uber ride. The driver was a nice gentleman and he delivered mom safely. We had to pay for this service privately from our mom's fixed income because it's not covered by insurance. I spoke with case manager today from rehabilitation facility where my mom was transferred from, he confirmed that he in fact can confirmed with Everyday Health that this would be a wheelchair van transport and he was assured it would be. He and his staff were as shocked as we were when the driver showed up in a minivan. If I would have known this would be the service we would receive for my 86 year old mom post total hip replacement, I would have done it myself.

I had no idea what to do or who to call. I took a chance and called. By the grace of God, Gabriel answered. I was on the verge of tears and he was so helpful that words cannot express my gratitude. He had other calls coming in and he was managing those while always coming back to me to provide a solution. He went so over and beyond to ensure this patient was returned safely to his nursing home. He shuffled the schedule and successfully managed a situation with a driver stuck at a railroad track blocked by a non-moving train!!! OMG!!! He is a miracle worker that never gave up no matter what obstacles came up as well as keeping me posted on where the driver was and estimated time to arrive. The driver was also a sweetheart and was so nice to the elderly rider. The front line (meaning the caregivers on site) are fantastic !!…read more The back office, meaning the ones actually scheduling the caregivers, are not responsive and require multiple emails and/or texts to get them to confirm. This does not work well when the family member responsible for the resident tries to schedule service in order to travel. It does not matter how good the caregivers are, if the family member cannot get confirmation of service, they either have to risk not getting service or cancel their travel. My loved one is too important for me to take that risk. I fired Family Tree after my third time having communication challenges.
