This is a Tesco Extra store in the south western part of Szczecin. It's probably best to get there…read moreby car, but you can also walk from the next bus stop (Bialowieska, lines 61 or 81 from Szczecin Glówny station) or tram stop. Bus 703 will run directly to Tesco from central Szczecin (Plac Rodla) to the shop but only once an hour. The selection is huge and includes fresh fruit and veg, canned produce, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, wine and beer, vodka, fresh fish, meat and cheese, many household and hygiene items, and even electronics, books and toys. Self checkouts are in operation where you can pay with zloty in cash or by card but you can also go to a traditional cashier. UK Clubcards will not be accepted in Poland (and vice versa) even if they look the same, the device will reject them as "unknown item". There are also a few other stores in the same building such as a hair dresser, a tobacco store and a post office where foreign money can also be exchanged for Polish zloty. A Euronet ATM is available for cash withdrawals (as always with ATMs in Poland and foreign cards, be careful not to select their exchange mechanism, but have your card billed in zloty and the conversion carried out by your bank which will always be cheaper). There's also a Tesco Grill that offers comparatively cheap meals. Not the best quality but very cheap indeed, I had a schnitzel with fries and drink for about 7 zloty last year.

Wow, so Galeria Kaskada is the main mall of Szczecin, Poland. It may also be the city's only mall…read more But that's not a problem because this place is almost like a city unto itself with lots of interesting things to do. There is a plethora of stores that never left me bored in the two and a half hours that I was here. I first spent money on a cappuccino. It cost 10,95 złotys and came from Tchibo, a store that appeared to sell coffee and lingerie within a few feet of each other. Then, I came across a clothing store where I saw a shirt that said "on my way to Seattle" for fifty złotys. Being actually from Seattle, I just had to nab this cool shirt. The bookstore is what really grabbed my attention. Seeing everything here in Polish was particularly fascinating, especially the movies and video games. It was interesting to see what selection they had in Poland. Curiously enough, their video games are more expensive. 279,99 złotys is a heavy price to pay for a new video game. At the bottom level of this mall, they have a grocery store with all the items you'd expect to find. They did display a sign that said no photography, but the place wasn't exactly a tourist attraction. It's really telling when a place can be appealing to foreigners and locals alike. I certainly haven't gotten the same vibe from every mall I've visited in the United States.

Nice place with lots of shops, international brands, with foodcourt and cafes. Sometimes very…read morecrowdy. Unfortunately no more Sunday shopping.
