Update...The tire was picked up, fixed, and returned Saturday morning and we were able to use the equipment by 11:00 am, only loosing a few hours of work time. The valve stem was sheared and the inner-tube needed to be replaced. This is very probably our error and we think it is fair that we pay the repair cost. We, however, believe that $85.00 an hour for him to come out and get the tire, bring it to the repair shop, and return it is exorbitant and we are not happy about paying it. We are also not happy that we were not given a total so we still do not know what the tire is going to cost us. We were told about $40.00 for the tire plus $170.00 for two hours labor, but that the owner would call us later in the week and give us a total. We were also told that we would only be charged for two hours of labor instead of three. Finally, we were told that most of their customers would have brought the tire in themselves and got it repaired. This is not something we are comfortable doing and we would not want the liability of doing so.
We still do not recommend Real Rentals or Bandera Rentals. The tire was fixed Saturday morning instead of making us wait until Monday and we are being discounted one hour of labor. However, we were still dealt with unfairly and discourteously on Friday night, we are still being charged an exorbitant fee for the two hours of labor, and we still have not been told the total cost for the repair. There are other rental businesses in our area and we plan to use them in the future and hope for better customer service. read more
