Great food. The staff was friendly. I was very surprised to find such a treasure in such a small village.

The servers were incredibly amazing, the place was neat and tidy, and the food was the best part! It was the best I had! Back home we had average Indian restaurants but I thought that we had the best, and well Oxford has the best, making our Indian places back home are not as good so now that we had our food, I told them that I would leave the best review ever in the history of that place and well I don't know if it is or not. And did I not mention the area of the restaurant, a neat little pub right next to the place. And here are some recommendations for me for starters? Popadoms, main course? Chicken curry, for dessert? Masala tea (a go to for me) and ice cream (choose vanilla if you are a acceptable person if you have a good appetite like me than you would like to choose Swiss chocolate big hit for me)

I let Jane and Oli do most of the ordering, since they are regulars and not everything translates into American English and English English the same way. We started with papadum and relish tray, and a couple of Kingfishers (on draft). For the table we ordered pillau rice, naan (2 kinds, but can't remember which 2), and saag paneer. I chose the Hozor Ki Pasandwalla Murghi because I wanted to try to pronounce it, and it's one of Oli's favorites. It's thinner sauce with nice heat and a good amount of peppers, onions, and tomatoes. He chose the Chicken Laknavi, and Jane chose the Chicken Pasanda. Everything was nicely spiced - heat but still flavor. Portions were generous - we probably only needed half as much, but we couldn't resist all the flavors. We were treated to a drink afterwards with our bill, and Bailey's was a perfect digestif with the chocolate. On our way out, we were given a 2019 calendar as a holiday present. I'm looking forward to another delicious and friendly meal when I'm back in Oxford!

I found the decor at odds with the quality of the food and service; perhaps because I am used to the range of good Indian restaurants in Vancouver, but Indian cuisine is pretty well established in the UK, no? I had the dinner buffet, or at least the vegetarian half of it. The food was decent but the spicing in the dishes I tried was limited to sweetness. No spicy heat (maybe catering to the UK palate?), and sadly I could not detect much depth of flavour. The service I experienced varied from uncomprehending to dismissive, although the service I observed extended to a group of regulars was quite genial. Maybe they didn't get my Canadian accent, or I wasn't dressed well enough for this "posh" place.

We started with the papadam with chutney assortment. There was plenty of everything in the assortment, and the papadaum was fresh and crispy. When it came time to order, everything sounded so delicious, and I was amused at how things seemed to be spelled slighlty differently than in the US. I decided on Lamb tikka masala, while Jimmy got the Chicken Korai spicy. We also got rice and naan for each of us. The food was delicious. The sauces were rich and flavorful. The meat was tender, not dry. The naan was slightly crunchy on the bottom and fluffy on top, just the way I love it. The portions were generous. We definitely could have been full from half as much food. Service was great, making sure that our water glasses were filled (perhaps they were worried about Jimmy ordering spicy food) and always checking that we had everything we needed.

I was visiting my brother in Oxford and we decided to come here for a family dinner. I'm used to American portions and seating so by comparison to American standards- the portions are rather small and the seating inside is pretty small- but nonetheless it's still a good place to come for dinner. We had a few different items that we all wanted to try, butter chicken, chicken tikka, both plain and garlic naan and some appetizers. The waiter tried helping us with our order to make it what we were expecting and asked about our spice tolerance as well. This was my first time trying 'poppadum' which was a fun appetizer, I highly suggest trying it if you haven't had it before. The food didn't take too long to come and the flavors were spot on!

Not only can you eat well in Kidlington but you never have any problem parking. The food was great and the service was very friendly. There were a few other people eating as well and they were obviously regulars as they were asking after the owner. Our waiter was very apologetic about the length of time it took for our order to appear - we hadn't actually noticed a delay - he said it was because the owner was away for a week so they had one less member of staff. They are obviously used to providing a very speedy service - perhaps because of all the takeaways they do. Whilst we were there one member of staff was continually busy on the phone taking orders. Their takeaways are obviously very popular and they deliver to quite a wide area. None of this interfered with our enjoyment of our meal. It just gave it a nice neighbourhood feel. The food is Bangladshi / Indian.
