This place blew me away. Someone already called it a "hidden gem", which is totally accurate -- not…read moremany reviews yet, but you can believe the five stars! Went on a weeknight and there were a few tables open. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Food was outstanding. The titular momo is worth an order or more; think steamed dumplings. The real stars of the starters were the Aloo Jeera (sautéed potatoes with onion, simple but incredible) and the Chana Chat (delicious chickpeas with just the right firmness, texture, and taste). If you like spice, try the Tea Momo: braided steamed buns which are bready and bland on their own, but the perfect vehicle to soak up the juicy, spicy vegetables that come with it and really pack a punch. The Chicken Curry, on the other hand, was not at all spicy as expected, but still subtly layered with rich and satisfying flavors and some of the best I've ever had. The Thukpa, traditional Tibetan noodle soup, was another tasty choice. A nice break from traditional Portuguese food, and some of the best in the city overall. Also, when the bill came my dad called it "reasonable" -- which is his way of saying it was really cheap. Would be worth twice the cost!

I would definitely recommend the stir fry-- it was very tasty. The momos are a south Asian dumpling that were worth a try. You can choose from chicken, pork, and vegetarian. The prawn curry was a little too salty for my taste. All in all the meal was very affordable, the service was really prompt & I would recommend this restaurant if you want a change in palette!

Well, I found one! Get ready to have your socks blown off! This is the stop you too have been searching for. Located an a quiet side street is the best Nepalese food you might find in Lisbon. Extremely small, limited seating, and extremely kind service will have you ooohing and awwwwing like me. So much so, I ended up ordering way too much food because I wanted to try a ton of items. I ended up with the butter chicken, garlic and cheese naan, and some fried pork buns and the best coffee I have had in a very long time. This is worth a short trip north to get out of the city center. Prepare your stomach to be stuffed with some of the best Nepalese food of your life. Big statement, I know, true statement, you bet.

This quaint restaurant exuded a pleasant vibe and was just the spot I was hoping for! After seeing…read moreseveral "Nepalese" style restaurants on our Lisbon excursion (to my surprise/delight), I was pumped to get some of this food. On our way out of the city, we stumbled across this little gem near the Alameda Metro spot and the Parque Fonte Luminosa! After walking around Lisbon during the early hours of the day I worked up quite the appetite ;-) This authentic spot really satisfied my yearning for Nepalese food and left me wanting to try everything! I descended the few steps into this cute little establishment and was greeted by a very lovely Nepalese native. She spoke English and was able to answer my questions. Because of time constraints, I ordered the food "for take away". The plato do dia was a great option for during and included the entree with rice, a bottled cooler drink (wide selection), and (a strong enough to out hair on your chest) coffee for €6.50. There were four options: a chicken mango dish, a shrimp curry dish, vegetable korma dish, and tandoori chicken. All sounded intriguing but I chose to have the shrimp curry HOT style. Yes, you can adjust your spice preference here which I discovered much to my delight :-D The food, although quoted 12 minutes, came out in half that time. While I waited I selected my beverage from the cooler case and had the small cup of coffee that accompanied the meal--no milk and sugar on the side. After that, I was wired for the day. My meal came out piping hot and I even was able to get a plastic utensil to take (rare in Europe). I positioned the sturdy take out bag in my shoulder bag and when I got to the international bus station it was still contained in the bag which I appreciated (no leakage). When it came time to eat my meal (half an hour later) it was still warm and delicious--full of tender yet not mushy vegetables and succulent shrimp without heads or tails for me to remove (sissy style-the way I expect). The curry was red in color and had an excellent spice profile, it was hot without being overly H-O-T. Portion was a good size but left me wanting more. I would definitely revisit the Nepal Curry House next time I visit Lisbon. If I lived there, I'd be tempted to eat here 3x a week for sure! Thank you, NCH, for exceeding my expectations! :-)

Being Indian, the food was very similar in terms of taste, but portions and servings could've been better. The dishes came in little copper pots that were fairly small, and you have to order the rice separately, and also the naan. Again this is probably an American thing where the curry dishes come with rice, but still worth noting. Not only were the portions small, but they also didn't have many pieces of meat or paneer in them. It was basically like 1 per person. Which is unfortunate because that means there is basically more curry than anything else. Taste wise it was great, and they were very accommodating for the kids spice level as well as brought out a sample dish to ensure it met the adults spice level also which was very much appreciated so it could be enjoyable for all. We ordered the chicken tikka for the kids which they loved, and the chicken karai (it was spicy but good), garlic naan, lamb korma, and the saag paneer. The waiter was nice enough to explain to us the different spice levels and differences between Indian and Nepalese food so we could order accordingly. Great staff, very polite, the place isn't fancy or very big, just a family business. However we finished all the food and would suggest you try it out if you're in the area nearby.

Whenever we return to Lisbon, this will certainly be a restaurant we frequent. Can't wait to return one day. Another great yelp discovery!…read more On our final night we are exhausted , luckily I had researched the area near our hotel beforehand, so this was bookmarked as one of my options. It was fairly quiet when we entered, four people sat in the middle, so the exceedingly polite host beckoned us to sit anywhere. Having perched at the nearest table he left us with some menus and complimentary poppadoms..OKAY YOU THINK WHY INDIAN FOOD IN PORTUGAL but hear me out. To begin this place was interesting with its dark wooden panelling and Buddha shrines. The spicy green dip amongst the generic mango chutney and raita was sublime. The drinks were interesting and well priced. I personally had never tried green wine before so selected a small bottle. The menu had it's generic curries but a lot of different ones too. As stated by a previous reviewer, I would have expected more fish due to the restaurant name but it was still plentiful. To start I ordered the spicy himali soup which was of perfect silky smooth texture and flavoursome. For mains I ordered this prawn dish with spinach, cottage cheese and cashews and my partner a chicken tandoori with curry sauce. Each main came with rice so I ordered a chilli cheese naan which wasn't on the menu but the host declared he would have this made specially. While we waited he placed my wine in a cooler..I have to say the wine was different..reminded me of gooseberry ..very sharp. My main was presented beautifully , and in general the food looked divine. Mine was very rich though and so unfortunately I left the majority. My partner devoured all his !! The specially Made naan was also very yummy and tasted fresh .. In the end , I queried if a 14% off offer was still valid via yelp, he checked and declined but provided me with another bottle of green wine instead!! Overall the host was amazing, he spoke fluent English and was genuine and always trying to please us. The ambiance could have done with some background music..other than that, please give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!!
