Seemed like a great guy, did us a quote, which seemed really reasonable , & in the quote he never charged us for the railings around the deck which my husband pointed out & Lucas said it would be another $2300.00 but he made the error & would just "eat" the difference, but we insisted on paying him the $2300, cuz everybody makes mistakes. He then told my husband he was a " stand up guy" & he wouldn't regret hiring him....Wrong! Lucas & his helper Dave came & put in the posts , & a couple days went by, they came back & were building the fence. Then Lucas disappeared for a couple days & Dave was still here working on the fence & said Lucas was off doing quotes. Dave did a great job on the fence & Lucas showed up & asked for the next installment, which i e-transeferred right then, $6000, & he left. Atc5pm Dave wrapped the days work up. Said he'd be back the next day & bring the wood for the gate & cut off the posts & put caps on & then Monday they could start the Deck. Great, right? That was Sept. 4th. They have never been seen since. LUCAS doesn't answer his phone or texts. Nothing. We have paid for 75% of the bill with less than 50% completed. So, basically he left with $6000, scammed us. We are retired & can't afford to just lose $6000 How do people live with themselves pulling this kind of stuff? So "No, we don't recommend Lucas Scriver from Northlake Contracting. If you are reading this Lucas. Do the right thing & return our money for a job uncompleted. Stealing & Dishonesty is not a good look for a business. Two years ago we got this company to do our hardwood floors and stairs. Many, many , many times…read morethey either did not show up when we were told they were going to be here or they showed up late. Most days they had to leave early due to materials not being available. The project was supposed to take 4-5 days. It ended up taking over 3 WEEKS and I am STILL looking at RED stained risers and BROWN walnut stained stairs!!! The guy who stained the risers to match the stairs kept saying "This is not red enough" and kept adding more red!!! The hardwood next to my master bathroom door is buckling. I was told it was because the ceramics were done wrong after they had installed the hardwood floor....funny thing is the ceramics in the bathroom were done 5 years earlier!!! When I told them that....my comments were met with cold stare and shrug of shoulders. I asked for someone to clean up the mess the stainer left on the wall and ceiling around the stairs. I was told that when I painted it would be covered up...it did not...the stain seeped through...even with Fresh Start! We have contacted them 5 times to come back and fix it...they are ignoring us because there was a $20 discrepency on our bill that we refused to pay. Our total for all the work done was over $16,000 so I can't see how $20 makes that big of a difference!!! I will never have these people back in my home! I've learned a valuable lesson...
