This is a warning to anyone considering a move with any company. This company appeared to have good reviews, but there was one recent bad review. The gist of it was that the complainant did not know that they only offer a refund with 72 hours of the reservation being made. It is clearly on the contract, BUT you don't see that until after signing. So, my initial contact with Razor was with Kim Davis. She was pleasant and over eager to tell me about every super cool detail of the service Razor offers. She even said to check out the review on all moving companies, including Razor. We went over the contents of my home to get me an estimate. The estimate was about $2000 more than I wanted to spend, and she lowered the price by about $1600 to get my business. I verified that I COULD CANCEL AT ANY TIME with a full refund. I even had my wife come upstairs and put her on speaker phone and confirm to both of us that it was fully refundable at any time. She only requested that we cancel at least two days before the scheduled move, which is completely understandable. So, I signed the agreement and it popped up with the contract. The contract said it required cancellation within 72 hours or no refund. So, I called back immediately. I couldn't reach Kim, but the other person said she could answer my questions, so I told her Kim had promised me that I could cancel at any time and I wanted it in writing. Kim emailed me later that day with the following: Steve #@$&*&, This email is to confirm that if you cancel, that the deposit is 100% refundable that you paid today. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me anytime! Thank you and stay safe :) Sincerely, Kim Davis 754-241-2819 IMPORTANT TIP: telling them two queen beds will not include the box springs. Two queen beds means two mattresses and two frames. If you have a box spring, you have to tell them OR you might be in for a big surprise when the movers come. So, today, when we went over the original list for accuracy, I found out the box springs weren't in the original estimate (as well as a few other things I forgot about), so the price increased almost $2000. After talking it over with my wife, we decided to move ourselves and called Razor to cancel our move. They said our deposit was not refundable. So I told her about my discussion and email from Kim. She asked me to send it to her, which I did. After placing me on hold, she asked if I still wanted to cancel my move. I told her I did want to cancel the move. She then told me "upper management said the deposit is not refundable." read more

Razor Van Lines - Movers Near Me

I was completely misled by this company. DO NOT use them. I have not been able to get up with my agent all day. They assured me that the truck was going to be getting across the country as fast as possible. 3 days later.... it's still in storage? WHAT? I have planned my entire move with their window given and now being in touch with the ACTUAL company doing my move.... apparently it's going to take up to 21 days. Also, they misquoted me. My move was $1,000 more than quoted. Ridiculous. I will never ever use Razor Van Lines again. P.S. they do not actually run the service, they hire out. Beware and be prepared to be misled. I will piggy back on other reviews. Tom promised me date that was not ever possible. Absolutely unbelievable. I want my deposit back. Never ever use this service. read more

WOW! I was totally lied to throughout the entire process of my move. I cried because of how big of an idiot I felt like being swindled in my late 30's. I can't express everything that went wrong it would be a super long list. But one thing....Paul, if your reading this, you are a pussy. read more

Total scam. These guys are brokers who--despite countless reassurances that they are NOT a third party--disappear off the face of the planet after you book with them. We were given a complete sham of a quote and told 8pm the night before our cross country move that another company was managing the move. We spent more than double what Razor quoted us and four days layer still have no idea where our belongings are or when we'll receive it. Unbelievable business that takes advantage of people in extremely challenging situations--especially shameful in the context of COVID. UPDATE: our stuff arrived almost completely crushed two weeks after it was supposed to. We lost over $2k worth of furniture. read more

I'll start with: LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. They are true. A bunch of people did not get together and leave 1 star reviews for their health. An absolute 100% scam. If you're reading all the other one star reviews BELIEVE THEM! I made the mistake of letting them convince me the reviews were false but they are not! Exactly what many of the reviews state happened to me! They underquote you to get you to sign a binding contract so they can take a nonrefundable deposit. They give you a bunch of phony discounts to make it look like you're saving so much money but it's all fake. I told the salesman Thomas this was my concern because I was about to cancel the experience altogether before authorizing the $600 deposit. He said not only am I bound but they are too and the number WILL NOT change. They ask for a bank account number because they think you won't be able to dispute it. Then they try to run it as a paper check (my bank told me this). Which also shows just how outdated and crappy their processes are. But I have navy fed so they were able to cancel the check. That shit just doesn't fly anymore in this digital age. He assured me the reviews were just people who didn't read the contract or tried to SCAM THEM by adding objects last minute. So I did my deposit. A few weeks later I get a call to do the quality assurance check, he asks me about all my furniture, and i realized a few small things like a little 30 inch tv, he told me to overestimate my boxes so i did, and there's a chair. Literally things that could just be stacked on top of each other. Or i could just put in my car. Tell me how this raised my quote from 1700 to 4k? And they wanted to ask me for another 1k for the deposit TODAY. Claiming "it's usually 2k but I added your veterans discount and mine." Literally a veteran trying to scam another veteran. But he was a marine so what could you expect? So I got on the phone with the supervisor who proceeded to talk over me and try to make me feel stupid. I told him LOOK, you can either refund me and we cut ties, or I can make it difficult and get my money back and also leave reviews on every site and also contact the BBB and attorney generals. Then when I talked over him he got an attitude about it. "You signed a contract you signed a contract you're not getting your money back." which is what every scamming company says. okay BET. Right after I had my bank cancel the check and it took all of five minutes, the funds came back immediately. Hopefully, like most businesses, they get charged a returned check fee or something. What really got me was when he tried to explain the bed. I told them I had a king bed from the jump. The salesman put it in as a mattress, but the quote specifically said "1 - bed, king (with mattress)" So any sane person knows this means a king sized bed WITH A MATTRESS. This man really tried to gaslight me and tell me no, this just means a mattress. He kept saying "look at the quantity" as if that meant something. Yes, dumbass, to a normal sane person it means ONE KING BED WITH A MATTRESS. TLDR; scammers, gas lighters, unprofessional. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They not only referred my move to a carrier who wasn't certified as an interstate mover with the DOT (breaching contract), but they also attempt to dodge responsibility for any and all mistakes. It took 83 DAYS for the carrier to deliver my items for a 13 hour drive... Absolutely insane. TV and many other items were stolen. Read this review and others. Buyer beware. read more

Broken items, crushed boxes, bent items, MISSING items, "lost"?. One price quoted, changed at pickup. Said we packed incorrectly and the pick up people had to pack/wrap properly... for additional money. We waited patiently for our shipment to arrive only to have family heirlooms broken, furniture broken, boxes clearly marked FRAGILE were crushed. They kept/lost several items. Oh yeah, and they charged us MORE AGAIN when they arrived because they had to walk a little further than 10 feet to the garage. We are beyond disgusted at the way our possessions were treated. We are furious that we actually had to pay at least 35% more than the original quoted price for the privilege of having our belongings ruined. And when questioned about making a claim, we were told the damage was our fault. read more

How are these people not in prison? I wish I would have read these reviews before I agreed to use their services. I went on one of the web sites that said you will get 10 quotes. Razor Van Lines called back first. I thought the price they gave me sounded good. As I look at other reviews reviews it's the same story I went through. You get a price, the day before the move it goes up. The day of the move it goes up, the day they arrive it goes up again. When the stuff arrives, some items are missing some are damaged. Our stuff looks just like the person who posted pictures in an earlier review. Of course, I'm told by the driver they are not responsible. I, like many others, have had great moving experiences. This was my first long distance move though from Michigan to Florida. Please please please do not use this company!!!!!!!!! read more

Believe the reviews. Pay the extra for other big direct companies. Didn't show up on pick up date after I confirmed earlier in the week. Sales rep disappeared so called customer service. Spoke to manager and her exact words were, we were told this morning they didn't have drivers to pick up, when asked why didn't we receive a call as we are waiting and have the freight doc blocked off we were told, "we had no information". Weird, no one is coming is information. When asked if we'd get updates at end of day, was told when we know you know. So pretty much we can go "...". Razor Van Lines - I've called and emailed endless times and they won't refund my almost $500 deposit. The order was cancelled within the cancellation window - Movers Near Me

Please read the reviews!!!! Krystal Castro Thomas Guy Richard "whatever" All of these people listed should be completely ashamed of what they do for a living. The fires in the bowels of hell are too good for them. I can tell you what happened to me in regards to a long distance move, but what's the point? All the reviews you are reading have already stated the same thing that happened to me. I was scammed into doing a deposit of almost $1,400 and never got anyone to move my goods. From what I am reading from other reviews, I lucked out when I kept asking when the movers were to arrive and they told me "I sent them away." It looks like others possessions were held for further ransom. I have never in my life seen such scum of the earth. I am very unsure how they even sleep at night knowing all they do is prey on people that are in need of help. read more

This is United American Moving under another name which currently has 95+ complaints with the BBB (Razor has 33+). Horrible move with them and their subcontractor. Estimate was only 50% accurate when the movers actually arrived, despite measuring and listing every single item with United/Razor in advance. Lots of hidden charges we only discovered the day of the move when we had no other options. They changed the company name in the middle of our move without notifying us, so when we tried to contact them, numbers were disconnected, emails bounced back. We tried working directly with the subcontractor (Brooklyn Moving) to find out where our stuff was/when it would be delivered 11 days after our move-in date. Getting nowhere, we reached out to United/Razor and asked them to help rectify the situation either by pressuring the subcontractor for answers on the delivery date or to get a partial refund. We proceeded to be berated and talked over during a 30-minute phone call with a "customer service" rep. - She said if we asked questions, the moving company would become hostile, not answer our calls, deliver our stuff "when they feel like it" - She accused us of threatening her and her company for saying we would be making a complaint to the BBB and FWCSA for hidden charges, fees more than double the estimate and delivery timeframe not stated in our contract - She told us to, "Go ahead and leave a complaint, there's a million of them" We received our stuff a month after they packed it up through yet another subcontractor who arrived without movers, so we had to unload ourselves despite paying for the service. Avoid at all costs and vet your brokers -- and their movers -- well. read more

If I could give a ZERO star rating, I would!!! This has been the worst experience I have ever had moving (and I work for the government so I have had many experiences). PLEASE read this whole review so you don't have the same situation happen to you!! At first everything was going good... I had a 30 day closing time frame, so reached out (through Angie's List) and Ryan from Razor called me almost immediately. He was very friendly and informative and was expressing how his company was one of the best. Unfortunately I fell for it. Communication was good up until 2 days before my move. The Thursday before my scheduled pickup I got a call, verifying the stuff I had to be picked up and made some adjustments (which almost doubled the price). I was told I would receive a call no later than the day before my "first" scheduled date (they give a 2 day window for the packing). The day before my "moving day" I still hadn't gotten a call. I sent emails but never heard anything back. On the Monday morning I called Ryan's number but he didn't return my call (and subsequent calls to his voice mail were stopped because his box was full - or he was blocking me). I then called the 888 number, after 50 minutes in the "queue" I finally spoke to someone and they said..."we have two days blocked for you so you will get a call later today." OK, so mid day I got a call from the "driver" saying he was running behind and needed a couple extra days for the pickup (he said he was still in CO on another job). I told him I didn't have a couple more days, I scheduled the move to coincide with my closing. He said "I will call my supervisor and they will get back to you". NOTHING...no call. By late afternoon I still hadn't heard anything so I called the 888 number. After 80 minutes in the queue, I spoke with Victoria, she was pleasant and said she might have a backup option and would call me back in the morning. Next morning...crickets...nothing. So I called again to the 888 number (after trying Ryan again and still full voicemail). After 45 minutes I spoke to another woman (I was so frustrated I didn't get her name). She said "in paragraph 14, it states that we aren't responsible for delays". She also stated "it isn't like we have trucks right here in our parking lot." I was basically told that the almost $3000 that I have pre-paid for this service was non-refundable because they are not responsible for the delays. I ended up having to rent a U-Haul, purchase a bunch of boxes and myself and my two 70+ y/o friends packed my condo and loaded it into the truck, so I could meet my obligation of being out of my home for the closing deadline. I did get a call from Victoria today (only because I sent a scathing email requesting a refund) and she basically said sorry, the delay was not our fault and we were willing to "reschedule" your packing/move but you chose not to accept a different date. Of course I didn't...I follow through with my obligations! How a company stays in business with this type of service I do not understand. Wait...I do...if they keep $2000-$3000 from every customer that they fail to provide a service for...that's a VERY nice business plan. DO NOT USE these folks!!!!! read more

Do NOT trust with your home!! This company is completely unprofessional and takes no responsibility for their actions. I hired them for a cross country move from NYC to Minnesota. First off, the move costed over 2x as much as the original quote. Second, they subcontracted me to another moving company. This company damaged quite a bit of my property during the move: broken dishes, furniture, pictures, etc. I reached out to the company representative to let him know this subcontracted company was awful and completely destroyed the majority of my stuff. They took no responsibility. In fact, they never responded to my complaint at all. Completely unprofessional, irresponsible and untrustworthy. DO NOT HIRE! read more

I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before I gave these thieves a $1200 deposit, but I was in a hurry. (The one good review had to be from the owner's mother, because this "company" is a total and complete scam.) My cross-country move had been planned out pretty well. I just didn't realize I had three pods worth of stuff in my little apartment, so when the two pods filled up on Friday morning and I still had stuff to move, I frantically called every company I could find to see who could come get the last of my belongings before I left town in my car the following Monday. Thomas from Razor Van Lines was sure that there was space on a truck the next day... as long as I got them the deposit asap. I did. The contract said Saturday OR Sunday, but he had talked to the movers and they said they could get to me on Saturday, so... After waiting around all day, I called. Michelle from Razor Van Lines told me it would be Saturday OR Sunday like my contract said... OR Monday if they got busy. I didn't hear anything on Sunday, so I called Monday morning to see if I could get a time window. Michelle said it would be between 3 and 5pm. I waited around all day Monday and called again. (5pm in California is 8pm in Florida, so their closing time of 7pm EST is particularly inconvenient if you don't know you have an issue until the movers don't show at 5pm!) ...but Michelle answered and told me Tuesday between 3 and 5pm. I spoke to Michelle again on Wednesday morning, and she said she spoke with the carrier who was finishing up a job, and that they would be to me "this afternoon." When I called Wednesday afternoon, Michelle said that it would either be "this afternoon or tomorrow morning." When I pressed her for an answer, she passed me off to Kyle who told me that my move would be completed on Friday or Saturday, at which point I expressed my dissatisfaction with a few choice words. Kyle put me on hold for a while before he disconnected my call. At this point, I wouldn't trust them if they told me the sky was blue. I charged my deposit, so I'm hoping that Chase will get the money back from this fraudulent-assed company. (SIDE NOTE: Did they just get bad in June 2020? ...'cause these reviews...) read more

I suspect that Razor is out of business or rather they have changed names. There is a long list of related entities with the same ownership and management team. Look it up for yourself on corporationwiki or similar site. They are not movers, they are brokers. They do not own trucks. Hire a reputable, national moving company. The cheap quote you will get is not real and your stuff may never arrive. read more

So, this is a third party company/broker and not a moving company. This company owns no trucks nor have they driven/moved anyone. Instead of giving a deposit to brokers to help find a moving company, I could do that myself and that's the point of getting quotes. The reviews look very falsified on google and there are MANY recent bad reviews too. Not to mention the ONE star (we all know that means NO STAR) on yelp. I am so happy that I will not be moving with this company and suggest you keep looking......In addition, I'll be leaving a review on yelp as well and reaching out to the department of transportation. And FYI Andrew, Daniel, Michelle. told me the deposit is $1000 then offered me $300 off just for saying I knew someone in my family was in the military but I didn't have to show any proof, what real company does that? Then harassed me to pay it then because if I called back they wouldn't give me the deal. The man told me I couldn't hang up the phone to call my mother to discuss it with her first and he had me call on the other line. I should have hung up then but it doesn't matter cuz they didn't get shit from me and I know I have them feeling stupid! Then they try to have a clause where once they get your money you can't get it back no matter what but that's illegal practices according to the department of transportation for this them to hold your deposit or tell you it's nonrefundable especially if no services were rendered. They are thirsty and greedy! Scammers. Losers that need to find real careers because scamming people that are moving it's a real career. People are looking to move and need to work with a company that is going to personable and professional. Then I read a comment where another women talked about how they told her the deposit was $1000 but offered to lower the deposit to $800. They tell this to everyone, that's there game, so thirsty for that little change. The real SCAM is lowballing your telling you your move is $2000 after you gave $1000 deposit (the deposit goes to the broker) so you think a mover is moving you for $1000? No, there going to tell you, you owe extra money/fees and hold your belongings until they get that money. Disgusting! And they WILL hang up on you. They hung up on me and I read another review about how they hung up a women because she seem indecisive. Smh. This company thought they were going to get over me but did not! When your calling to inquire they picking up In a split second. You wanna cancel, you can't reach them all of sudden. Scammers! They didn't get a penny from me and This company will most likely be shut down soon. (: read more

Booked approximately 1week in advance schedule pickup 07.15 - 07.16 on 07.14 received a call from trucking company stating they would pickup between 1200 / 1500 hrs on 07.16, on 07.16 received call from broker razor van lines approximately 1000 stating the truck had "technical difficulties " (NO SHOW) and will not arrive as scheduled and stated truck to arrive Friday 07.17 between 1100 and 1500 at this time we requested service failure due commitment to arrive 07.16 Thursday, at this time phone stated no way do we get a REFUND and to see #14 on estimate and I noticed that reading other reviews razor van lines seems to bank on #14 and #22 states that management can AUTHORIZE A REFUND. When I called back after rep hung up on and requested to speak with management the said I will absolutely not receive a REFUND. Reading the contract it is setup in a way that no matter what the customer is not in titled to 1 refund 2 pickup 3 delivery 4 schedule. The people answering the phone will not let speak to the company rep that was readily available before receiving MY MONEY. BACK IN THE DAY THE CUSTOMER RECEIVED QUALITY SERVICE AND RESPECT..... NOWADAYS THE Businesses in all facets seem to get away with misleading tactics to separate you from your Hard Earned Money with no discipline what so ever. My Daughter is relocating due working in the Medical Arena and we are subject to parting with most of the funds we had setup to relocate, we are faced with leaving our belongings behind and cut our losses due to PAYING FOR SOMETHING JUST TO RECEIVE A HARD WAY TO GO...... I don't see how people look themselves in the mirror knowing they gained a profit using unethical means. razor van lines also states in the contract to reach out to customer service before going public with an issue. When Inquiring about this matter , I was not offered to speak on it just told again I am not getting a Refund. Will be researching the ethics of broker companies and what can be done about Customers being bullied for personal gain Please note this is my opinion and seeking facts on my experience in this matter. I don't think I saw 1 good experience received by a customer, which shows merit in my eye. js read more

Do not use this company!! I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! A sales rep, Tom promised me a move that would happen on a specific date and would be delivered 1 day after pickup. 24 hours before, someone was supposed to call me and confirm, I didn't hear anything, so I called this company. I spoke with Shelby, very very very rude. So nasty, talks over you constantly, a true Karen. She then explained to me that Tom should have never promised me a particular date because they have a two day window, but he put me on hold, to act like he was confirming a truck. He told me these exact words " I found a truck for you, and they will be there on Wednesday" I said okay, but can you confirm that it will be there on Thursday? He then said well technically we have to give a two-day window for drop off, but you're only going 300 miles, they will be able to get your items to you on Thursday." He tells me this after I explained to him a previous company screwed me over and that he could guarantee the move, because he had a truck in my area and that he's "sooo sorry of what happened to me previously and he was sure I would have a better experience with them" WRONG!!! Tom lied to me just to get a deposit and even offered a ACH, BIG MISTAKE. I called to confirm and I was told the pick up and delivery was not guaranteed and that Tom should have never promised me anything. Shelby went so far as to hang up in my face when I asked to speak to her supervisor and asked her to stop talking over me. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. STAY AWAY, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

This place is a SCAM! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They are a SCAM. I made this mistake and have been in constant regret for it. Moving is already stressful but they made it 1000x more difficult. Not only did they NOT SHOW but then they WOULDN'T REFUND US. They'll take your money and that's it. My advice is to use another service or go to U-Haul. We did that -- went to U-Haul. It was fast, easy and just as inexpensive but without the billion headaches and problems. After I booked my move with Razor Van Lines I had to work so f'ing hard to get any information from them about it and I am still unsure about most of the details. When I finally got on the phone with them for a 10th time and told them "F this, cancel my move" their "Manager" got angry and aggressive with me and tried to "tell me how it is". Ummm.... First, I'm the one moving. Second, I was told a bunch of shit that didn't happen. And now, third, they wanted me to believe them because the "manager" was now saying "things would work out". Nope. Don't believe them. And I wouldn't trust these people with anything, ever. The "manager" then went on to try and get us to "OK" them picking things up later in the day (it's 4pm now) saying the movers would be by at 6pm. They were supposed to be here yesterday at 9am. Then we we're told the movers would be over in the afternoon. Then the next morning. Then the next afternoon... And so on... And so on... Bunch of BS. So, because I had to get on the phone 10 times and ask and ask and ask for information I ended up wasting a ton of time moving and was away more stressed out about these creeps than anything else. This place gets a F. This place is a SCAM AVOID this place to save yourself time, money and stress. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!! read more

I googled Angie's List, because I wanted a moving company and I know that Angie's List has a great reputation. Angie's List asked me to sign in and I don't have an account. Then other movers came up on my computer screen and I mistakenly thought these were recommended by Angie's List. I saw Razor Van Lines and called them. The sales rep went by the name of Robert Smith. I have reason to believe now that he changes his name for every new caller. He was very friendly and gave me a really great price. Telling me that the deposit is $706 requiring cash or e-check. Then upon arrival to load, my charge would be $500. Then when they drop things off, there would be another charge of $500. For a total of $1700 to transport about 2000 lbs. or less from Rudolph, Ohio to Springville, Utah. I realize now that Razor Van Lines is a third party company and they are just a broker. They can't dictate what the trucker will charge for pickup and delivery. They just took my deposit and didn't deliver anything. My pickup was suppose to be June 25, 2020 from noon to 6:00 p.m. My family and I waited for the six hours. Two of us had to drive an hour and 45 minutes to the warehouse location owned by another family member and an hour and 45 minutes back. At 5:59 p.m. on the first day, we received an email saying that our pickup would be the next day. So again, we drove the hour and 45 minutes to the warehouse and waited for six hours and no truck came. We tried to call but everytime we got to the top of the list after waiting for a long time, we would get a lady coming on and asking for the job number. Then she would say she will check on it and then we'd be cut off. A call came in from someone that we thought would be the trucker, but then it was a number that didn't take return calls. No one ever called us. Razor Van Lines does not know the value of personal integrity. My bank can't help me get the money back, because the deposit was paid with an e-check instead of a credit card. We need to tell everyone to stay away from Razor Van Lines. They may not be around for long. read more

PREDATORY CONTRACT PRACTICES, UNETHICAL MOVER, DO NOT USE THEM. I booked a move 3 weeks in advanced with them through Budget Van Lines an online broker who subcontracted the job to Razor Van Lines. Unfortunately I signed a binding contract with them over email following a brief phone conversation. During the conversation, the agent led me to believe the contract included professional packing and moving services with the order. I submitted a $1700 deposit to book one bedroom move with a total cost of $4700 which I thought included packing. Retrospectively, the interaction appeared professional enough, however the services offered in the conversation failed to match those described in the contract. I reviewed the agreement further and found that professional packing was not included. $4700 for a short distance move with self packing amounts to a gross overcharge. No with a great deal of concern, I researched the company and found that in fact they function as a brokerage subcontracting through Budget. This is not an actual moving company. I reviewed their BBB file and they maintain a C rating, due to their questionable business practices. Several online reviews describe multiple situations in which the agency partakes in questionable business practices including hostage, overcharging as in my case, hidden charges, and unethical business practices. I attempted to cancel my order within the prescribed time frame and the company stated the grace period had expired and they would not refund my deposit. They refused to hold any further discussions with me regarding this matter. I was not able to reach customer service or the cancellation department. This describes the company's overall strategy: 1. Offer moving services at cost 2. Up sell at contracting 3. Obtain a contract signature and deposit at all costs 4. Up-charge as much as possible during the process 5. Refuse to refund costs for services not provided This may be legal however it is predatory and highly unethical. I did not even move with this company and I lost $1700. I cant imaging what an actual move with them would be like. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES. read more

I eventually found a cancellation email in my contract and they refunded me 90% of the amount as there was a 10% cancellation fee. They did not incur any fees. The sales rep said I had 3 days to cancel he never mentioned a 10% processing fee. This is completely unacceptable. Read everything thoroughly! Do not try to esign quickly to get the best rate! They are completely unprofessional. read more

A moving company name only. They have no trucks because they are middleman that connects you with a moving company that is just as shady. Skip these folks and go directly to a well-known moving company that has its own trucks. They will under estimate the work and you get stuck with a higher bill when the real movers arrive. Sadly, we learned our lesson when it was too late and we are thousands of dollars poorer because we did not do our homework. read more

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS ALERT! Do not even think about using them. I paid a $600 deposit for moving in June 2020, which I cancelled within 24 hours and received a cancellation email for. A few weeks later my card was charged for the CANCELLED move. Since June 2020 I have spoken to their reps via phone and emails almost 10 times, each time with a different excuse as to why I have not received a refund. Today they had the audacity to lie to me saying that, I "refused to receive a refund" that I have been pursuing for THREE MONTHS. read more

Complete scam. They will ask for a deposit via EFT and tell you that credit payment has a hefty fee in order to get you into a situation you cannot dispute. It's not the time to be this fraudulent when someone is trying to move. I want my $1200 deposit back Razor. read more

This is a long post and somewhat of an investigative review about how Razor and many other brokers scam consumers. It exceeds the character limit so the balance of the review is in photos attached. It is an awareness piece, and I was tipped off to how this works by reading some one star reviews. I must preface this by saying I never used Razor Van Lines and feel fortunate I dodged that bullet, here's why; Something I've learned is that when you go to those websites where you submit your information to have moving companies bid on your move, that is where most scam moving BROKERS hang out. They are fed leads from these websites and that is usually how they darken your door. One such company I received a call from was Razor Van Lines. THE LIE: Right out of the gate, the individual I spoke to opened with a lie. John told me "we are one of the largest military movers in the country". THE FACT: This a is a completely false statement. Being a member of the DOD, I checked the list of approved movers and brokers and Razor Van lines IS NOT an approved carrier. The very first sentence out of Johns mouth to me was a complete lie! The very first red flag for me was that their quote and estimated cubic footage for the move was significantly lower than others (about half) as were their storage rates. I would later learn after some research this is most likely the beginning of a "hostage load" and while my possessions weren't held hostage, there are plenty of reviews on here that did have this happen. Quick summary, the BROKER (Razor) significantly under estimates your load making the rates sound like a steal. When the actual moving company shows up they say the estimate is completely wrong, they take your items and they don't give them back until you pay them. This is a common tow company scam too. The "deposit" that the broker will take up front is their "commission" and good luck getting that back. The balance due afterwards is between you and the moving company they brokered it out to and the broker (RAZOR) is free and clear with your deposit. You can read more about "hostage loads" in this article https://www.sun-sentinel.com/business/fl-bz-how-to-protect-yourself-against-moving-company-schemes-20180814-story.html As we talked for quite a lengthy period of time, I started to notice some holes in Johns story, for example; THE LIE: They say if you use an e-check you won't have to worry about being charged 5-10% more by your credit card company. I inquired about this fee and was told its an "essential business surcharge" as a result of the COVID crisis. John stated RAZOR DOES NOT charge this but the credit card company does. When I poked a little more, he put me on hold for 5 seconds, came back and said the surcharge will be waived if I wanted to use a credit card. Note that he said the CREDIT CARD COMPANY charges this, but he talked to his manager and waived it? Hmmm....sounds suspicious. THE FACT: After I got off the phone with him (and DID NOT put down a deposit) I called the credit card company and they said they'd never heard of an "Essential business surcharge". This has been proven a lie and it's very obvious that they try to dissuade you from using a credit card as I'm sure it's a headache for them to deal with disputes. I would NEVER give these people cash, because if you do, it's as good as gone. THE LIE: John stated that they have partnered with T-Mobile, Sprint, ATT and Verizon to offer further discounts. THE FACT: Being a T-Mobile customer, I looked into this further and have not been able to identify any such partnership. I believe they name drop large company names to make them sound more legit. I cannot say with 100% certainty that this partnership does not exist, but I will alert T-Mobile corporate communications of this claim so they can confirm or deny this. THE LIE: I asked John if the moving truck would be a third party. He said that while they do broker some moves, they also have their own fleet of trucks and he actually GUARANTEED that the truck moving my stuff would be one of theirs. THE FACT: This was the biggest lie of them all and here is proof why....in the quote they send you it states the following: "5. AS A PROPERLY LICENSED INTERSTATE MOVING COORDINATOR/SHIPPER AGENT/BROKER, RAZOR VAN LINES IS NOT A MOTOR CARRIER AND WILL NOT TRANSPORT AN INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMER/SHIPPER HOUSEHOLD GOODS, BUT WILL COORDINATE AND ARRANGE FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF HOUSEHOLD GOODS BY ANY FMCSA AUTHORIZED MOTOR CARRIER" So while John GUARANTEED that their truck would be moving it, their contract specifically states they WILL NOT. More lies. Want more proof? You can go to the DOT website and see what fleet size a moving company has; for example if you put North American Van Lines in, you'll see they have thousands of trucks. Guess how many Razor has? ZERO. https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/hhg/SearchDetails.asp?ads=&id=30357190&id2=32251886&f=search%3D3% read more

Razor Van Lines - Movers Near Me

See all

Steer clear of this company- we were scammed by them. They're the Fyre Festival of moving companies. And not even a van line, just a very dishonest broker. Many of the other reviews here echo our experience. We got a quote from Ryan at Razor Van Lines in early June for a move from TX to MA. He seemed incredibly friendly and knowledgeable on the phone. My wife and I went from room to room in our house carefully listing and measuring all of our items to him over the phone as he put together an estimate. He quoted us a phenomenal deal saying they had a truck that they needed to get from San Antonio to Boston, and our move aligned perfectly. He gave my wife a generous veterans discount as well. As far as well could tell, Razor Van Lines seemed like a legitimate company, and we paid them a deposit. We contacted them again in early August for the "quality assurance check" and final estimate about a week before the move. After several days of waiting on hold for hours at a time and promises of getting a call back, we finally got a call back from Richard. He seemed friendly at first, but soon the red flags appeared. Again, I went room to room to check our items, and he kept mentioning things we "forgot" to mention in our initial estimate. He totally gaslighted me when I claimed that we did mention these. There is no way we forgot to list our washer/dryer, mattresses, dressers, bookshelves, and multiple chairs (i.e. the largest items in our house) in our initial list. As I continued to measure items, he would say things like "Wow, that is oversized" or "Oh that is definitely not standard" for items that were fairly normal sized. Ultimately, Razor deliberately left some of our largest items in the initial quote, and deliberately inflated the size and number of items for the final quote which was well over double the cost (only after another generous veterans discount). It was also clear after I started asking questions that there was no truck, or even a moving company scheduled yet. After that phone call it was clear they weren't being honest and we couldn't afford the final cost anyway. We quickly found a large number of BBB and FMCSA complaints online about no-shows or holding items hostage (most from the previous month), and we also found in the fine print of the contract that they make no guarantees of even showing up. I called to cancel the next day and they told me and I couldn't cancel over the phone, and had to email a specific email in the fine print in the contract. I did that with no response. A couple days I called again to confirm cancellation and I was berated for sending to the email they told me to send it to, because they "don't check that email often". I was promised they would get back to me to confirm and "start the cancellation process." But I never heard anything. I never heard back to be scheduled either. It is quite likely even if we wanted to proceed with the move they wouldn't have showed up. In the end, we weren't able to get our deposit back (over $2000) and we had to scramble with U-Hauls at the last minute to move. The folks at Razor Van Lines are scam artists. They put on an act over the phone to gain your confidence. It's particularly disturbing that they use the promise of very nice discounts to target veterans with this scam. read more

Avoid at all costs. They will lie, potentially not show up, and then increase your price if they do show up. They sub contract the most shady possible movers who in my case tried to strong arm me into paying an extra $1800 in order to have my possessions delivered on time. read more

Wow! The absolute worse! Complete money theft, highway robbery. DO NOT USE RAZOR. They will take a deposit, underbid, disappear, youll have to pay 3x more, and you'll never get ahold of them again. If you enjoy complete ripoffs then use RAZOR. We have complaints with just about every company that regulates movers and intend to protect our rights to the fullest extent of the law. It may take time but Razor will not get away with it! read more

I had to create a yelp account because of how horrible of an experience I had with this company. This company doesn't have its own fleet of vehicles and employees that does the actual moving. They hire/contract other companies like Movesmart & Storage to do the physical move. Razor Van Lines does not care about giving you an accurate quote because all they care about is collecting the initial deposit. Once the movers arrive, they'll give you a new quote. They didn't arrive to pick my boxes on the day I scheduled and didn't communicate that to me! How do I plan a move when they don't arrive on the day I need it to be picked up and gives you a range of days like 0-7 business days when it'll arrive to destination is 0-500 miles away? Only give you a day ahead notice? I had to call everyday past 7 business days so I can figure out when my stuff is going to arrive? Even if they are late, it only costs them $5 for every BUSINESS days so they don't care about arriving on time. They already got your stuff. If you call, you'll be on phone for at least 30 minutes. Going back to Razor Vans, they also don't care after if it arrives late because they give themselves 21 business days before they have to do anything. Please don't make the same mistake as me. read more

Save your health. Save your money. Go somewhere else. They'll call you, sell you on a lower price, tell you the plan, get your deposit and then forget about you. They don't move things. They contract it out. Even though you'll confirm dates with them, and they'll put that in your "estimate," they don't guarantee pick-up or drop-off dates. I'm writing this in our packed-up apartment, where my wife and I have been for two days waiting for someone to show up. Inevitably this will happen to you. And you'll want to speak with someone to sort things out. But you won't reach anyone. Or you will and you wish you would've saved your time. You'll want your hundreds-of-dollars deposit back. But you won't get it. The scene that summarizes our experience is me writing an email to Justin, their representative who set everything up and seemed super on top of things. I said that he told me I could contact him if things went wrong, and they were going wrong. I got an email back a few seconds later saying the email address doesn't exist. I hope someone finds a way to sue this company for everything they've ever taken from me, my wife and these other reviewers. They don't deserve to be in operation. read more

The company is a brokerage company that doesn't present itself as when it takes your money. It under provides and customer service is horrendous. A Razor Van Lines rep named Kim Davis reached out to me on 6/10/20. She was friendly, helpful, gave me tons of discounts to help me move from MD to VT because she said she had sympathy for my current situation (going through a divorce and losing my job). She quoted me a price of $1951.68, and that day I paid a deposit of $960. Kim assured me that my living on the seventh floor next to the elevators would not be a problem on move day and that I wouldn't be charged (I later was). My move was scheduled for 07/12 or 13. I did know when my movers were going to arrive until less than 24 hours before my move, which it was guaranteed I would understand 24 hours in advance. The movers showed up on 7/13, and it was a whole different company. This is when I found out that Razor is just a brokerage firm, not a moving company. The new moving company showed up with their contract, which I signed, thinking it was standard protocol to do. This was my first move with a moving company. I have always Uhauled my belongings. The prices increased, and all the substantial discounts Razor Van provided me in my initial estimate did not transfer to the new contract. Once my items were on the truck, and I went to sign off, the price of my move had doubled. I was astounded as this was not an expense I was expecting to pay, nor at this current moment do I know how I'm going to afford to pay it. I immediately called Razor Van line and, after a 30 minute wait time, got on the phone with a representative, and she told me, it was my fault, I didn't read the contract carefully, that this is just how moving companies work. That she bought two iPhones from a cell phone service, and when she didn't read the contract, she was left to pay thousands of dollars -- lecturing me on her company's poor business practices and then she hung up the telephone on me. After reading tons of reviews on this company (hindsight is 20/20), the customer reviews are astounding and express my same concerns. That this company preys on those of us who are on a budget, rope us in, traps us in a non-refundable deposit, and then feed us to the wolves all in the name of profit. It's shameful, and I do know how the State of FL has not stepped in to ensure this is not continuing to happen. They don't say they're a brokerage firm during the telephone call - They should! They don't tell you that their contract is worthless once their hired hands show up - They should! They take a deposit from you as if they're making a move - They Shouldn't! This company is pitful. I'm a recently divorced educator who educates this country's future. I work hard for the little bit of money I do receive, and it is not fair that businesses like this exist and use the law to protect them from doing shady business dealings! It was damn right, disgusting! read more

DO NOT use this company!! Company is a scam and they will take all your money and not provide the service!! They stole our money.

Razor Vane Lines is a moving broker, which means if you use them, the mover you get will be whoever randomly picks up the job. That's why there are so many bad experiences. As for me, I booked a move and cancelled immediately (less than one hour after) and they would not refund my deposit even though the rep on the line Pete Burks, assured me that my deposit would be refunded in full if I were to change my mind. Razor Van Lines uses really high pressure sales tactics to make you pay the deposit, including straight up lying to the customer. Please, please avoid them. read more
