Fat Daddy's BBQ My wife and I drive past this place all the…read moretime on our way to my mom's house. Usually it's later in the evening when they're already closed, or it's Monday-Wednesday when they're not open when we're heading back home. This time it was around 7:00, we were driving by, and I thought, "Let's stop in and grab some dinner and try something new." The first thing we noticed getting out of the car was the smell outside, which honestly wasn't very pleasant. Across the street there are several chicken barns, so I'm assuming that may have been part of it. When we walked in, we were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. Inside is very nicely decorated. There's a counter with a few seats, several two- and four-top tables, and through a small hallway there are larger tables that I'm guessing become communal seating when it gets busy. Our server, Jaylin, came over quickly to take our drink order. He explained the beer options and mentioned they had homemade lemonade and sweet tea. My wife asked for unsweet tea but they only offer sweet tea, so she ended up getting water. I ordered the sweet tea and they definitely weren't kidding -- it's sweet! For dinner we ordered the three-meat plate with brisket and pit beef, along with collard greens and coleslaw. The food came out looking good, and I actually took a picture, but of course now I can't find it on my phone. The one disappointing thing was the brisket presentation. Instead of sliced brisket, it came out looking more like a pile of shredded beef. The meat itself was tender and flavorful, and some pieces had a nice bark on them. The pit beef was also tender and served warm, although I was expecting more traditional sliced beef. The collard greens were very good. I asked for some cider vinegar for them and was initially told they didn't have any. A few minutes later, a gentleman walked by and asked how everything was. I mentioned the vinegar situation and he immediately said they had gallons of it and brought some over, which I appreciated. The coleslaw just wasn't my style. I prefer shredded cabbage slaw, while theirs was chopped. It wasn't bad -- we still finished it -- just not my personal preference. I noticed another table got cornbread that looked really good, so I ordered a piece. Unfortunately, that was another small disappointment. It looked good on the outside, but once I cut into it, it was very dense and seemed to be mostly cornmeal without any actual corn in it. After taking a bite, it also seemed like it may have been microwaved because the inside had a rubbery texture. Overall, the meats were good and the sides were solid. One thing to note: make sure you read the ENTIRE menu carefully. There is a $5 upcharge for double meat. Yes, it's printed in red, but I completely overlooked it. Personally, I don't think the extra meat was worth the additional charge, and had I noticed it beforehand I probably would have ordered something different. It would have been nice if the server had casually mentioned the upcharge when ordering. Honestly, he probably would have gotten a better tip. They also offer homemade desserts, which I'll definitely try next time. Another table ordered the bread pudding and it looked amazing. One last thing: I understand we were there close to closing time, but while we were still eating, Jaylin started sweeping the rugs at the entrance inside the restaurant and rolling them up. That's probably something that should either be done outside or after the last customers leave. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and definitely look forward to stopping in again whenever we come through while they're open.

Wild Honey BBQ - Tropicana, Atlantic City…read more Food Quality & Taste The ribs did what they were supposed to do--show up and be tender. My St. Louis quarter rack was enjoyable, not fall-off-the-bone dramatic, but definitely tender enough to get the job done. The tater tots and coleslaw were decent--no complaints, no standing ovation either. Just solid sides that played their position. Hubby? He kept it simple with tequila shots--and based on his face, they did exactly what tequila is supposed to do Value for the Price About $50 for ribs and two shots isn't bad for Atlantic City, especially inside Tropicana. It feels like a fair deal for a quick bite and a little sip-sip. Cleanliness I didn't get a full tour since we did takeout, but from what I could see, the place looked clean and well put together. No red flags visually. Customer Service No issues here. The process was smooth, and everything was handled without any confusion or attitude. Wait Time & Convenience Takeout was easy and convenient--perfect for grabbing food and keeping it moving. Plus, being inside Tropicana makes it a great stop if you're already in the area hopping around. Presentation & Atmosphere From what I saw, the vibe looked nice and not overly crowded or chaotic. Definitely feels like a place you could come back to and actually sit down for a chill date night. And let's not ignore the bonus--you can step downstairs and grab a cute photo by the fountain like you planned the whole evening Red Flags or Warnings Now listen...my only issue was with the takeout containers. The boxes my food came in? The adhesive on the sides was coming loose, and I had questions. Where are we storing these boxes? Because the other containers were perfectly fine, so something wasn't adding up. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely worth noting. Just be careful with your bags. Overall: Wild Honey BBQ is a solid, no-stress option--good ribs, easy takeout, and a nice vibe if you decide to dine in next time. It's the kind of spot you can enjoy without overthinking it, especially if you're already at Tropicana. My stamp on this place is... "Something to do with your Boo"

Serve what you would eat! I was told as i was leaving the manger met me outside and apologized and heard me out and insisted on giving me a full refund so that was appreciated i will try again another time please please right your wrongs be great be that restaurant that cares!! *************** Not good!! First of all they were out of cornbread and biscuits and dinner just started second the amout of fat on the ribs is crazy!! My fully loaded whipped out the box mashed potatoes I ask what makes them loaded the waitress says sour cream and cheese sauce no that would make them taste better but it didn't I ask about the fish and chips there fried with shrimp and I have an allergy to shellfish glad I asked because it's not on the menu!! Well I can find food somewhere else tonight!! Big waste of time

Ordered a burger - the best! So tasty and delicious. Fries good too. Also had the Carolina Cuban with no bun and Wowzer! Super tasty. Service was great. Very friendly and kept checking on us. This is a BBQ joint vibe that is quite elevated. Great decor. Will always stop here as it's such a great place. Reasonable prices for the quality and quantity. The food here is remarkably good at a reasonable price. It is not quite southern barbecue, but the food is tasty and enjoyable. Some of their dishes are quite creative, like their mac n cheese skillet with kielbasa and pulled pork. In my opinion, barbecue restaurants should have a room in the back for naps, because that is what you will be doing after you eat here. It does get a bit loud here with the live entertainment, and parking can be hard to find on weekends, but that is understood. Better than an empty lot and walking out on an empty stomach.
