From the first interaction, you can sense John's lighthearted nature, sense of humor, and unwavering passion for what he does! He is so easy-going and instantly makes you feel like you've known him for years. He was so much fun to work with, both at his studio and our wedding venue! I am a bit camera-shy but he is so wonderful with giving direction and guidance to make sure everyone is captured in their best light. He has an innate way of getting to know everyone on a deeper level, and then capturing in the best way through his lens. He made the afternoon so fun, so natural, and every photo he takes is with great intention and focus. He is a true artist and cares so much about what he does! And he's hilarious, time flies when you're with him. By the end of the shoot, after he tells you how many photos he took, you're left with: "You took that many?! How did you do that??" I can't say enough good things about John, and it makes perfect sense that my husband's family has stayed loyal to him throughout the years. He is truly unique and has perfected his craft. His communication is great and his turnaround for photos is extremely quick! I would highly recommend him, your choice in John will not go unrewarded. He is simply the best!

I'm a bit Type A with event planning, especially with this one. The venue recommended Allan Reider and I can see why. A couple weeks before the event, I visited the country club to familiarize myself with the space then called him to save the date. While he was friendly and jokey, he was serious and knowledgeable about the details. I was almost finished developing a video slideshow of my friend's life and wanted the final version shown as much as possible at the event to honor his wishes. Allan recommended showing it on loop in one of the rooms near the entry above a fireplace on a plasma TV and in the main banquet hall on a 7-foot screen via projector. This was exactly what I wanted. I dropped off the slideshow on Blu-ray a week before the event then Allan and his crew tested it on multiple players at their studio. A couple of days before the memorial, I received a family member's request for a song to be played during the eulogy. Allan gave me options and recommended the best bang for the buck. The day of the memorial, Allan called and texted me a couple of hours before the start time to assure me that everything was already set and in place. Come showtime- seamless! I didn't have to worry about anything.

We wanted something low-key, fun and Danny understood and delivered our vision. We had a intimate brunch wedding in a backyard at our favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. Danny was such a natural presence, he captured each and every special and hilarious moment and made our families feel completely at ease. All of our photos are gorgeous, and he took the time to scout locations and backgrounds in Williamsburg to capture the gritty/urban/vintage feel we wanted for our morning-of shoot. Danny also did a complimentary engagement shoot and shot us doing our favorite things like eating ice-cream and completely captured our low-key, fun spirit. This pre-wedding session really helped us feel comfortable taking photos and helped us get to know Danny. Our photos are gorgeous, spontaneous, funky and perfectly captured all of our personalities. We will treasure them forever and we are so grateful that we found Danny--he was an amazing photographer and a super fun wedding guest

When we first met with the Jollysnapper team, Joe and Cynthia, we knew they were perfect for us. Their photojournalistic style was exactly what we were searching for, their friendly personalities made them awesome to work with and their photos are sharp, lively, and artistic. Our wedding photos blew us away and we received so many compliments. We put in a lot of effort to have a glamorous celebration for our special day and my husband and I are so happy that we had photographers who captured astonishing photos. The hundreds of pictures they delivered to us had a good balance of candid, artsy, and formal photos. Based on the photos we received, it appears that our guests had an amazing time. Besides the lovely pictures of my husband and I, just about every guest had some great photos. They also spent extra time capturing the emotions of our parents who we did not expect to be as emotional as they were. Those teary eyed photos in particular have been framed and are in my parents living room. The Jollysnapper is certainly worth considering for your wedding if you want to be confident that you will get awesome wedding photos.

Jolly Snapper Photo Studio deserves more than 5 stars…read more I wanted to have some maternity photos, the type with dramatic lighting that I would see in magazines, and a friend recommended Joe. I am glad I went with him because the results were simply amazing! His photos are definitely among the very best images that I have! We initially set up the shoot in his Astoria studio. He explained to me that this allowed him to have full control over the lighting and backgrounds- which created the dramactic effect on the photos. We also took some pictures outdoors in a nearby park per Joe's suggestions. The photos he took allowed him to use varied and interesting backgrounds. I like having my pictures taken and from experience, it takes some real skill to make me feel relaxed, especially during a photo shoot inside a studio. Given that Joe is a very humorous person, it was fairly easy and quick for me to start feeling relaxed in front of the camera.
