I should preface my review with the note that my daughter and I had just come from Riga, Latvia. The restaurant prices there are roughly a third of what they seem to be here. So I had a bit of sticker shock. I understand this restaurant is a cooking school. The food was not bad, but the service was painfully awkward, painfully slow, and painfully inept. my appetizer, a salad, arrived at the same time as my daughter's entree. After we had both finished, the waiter came to me and asked if he could tell the kitchen to start cooking my hamburger. I said yes, and in the end my daughter sat and watched while I ate the hamburger. No one seems to have told the server that the usual way to do things is to serve the appetizers first, even if it's only one, and then bring the main meals at the same time. Anyway, as I say, the food was not bad, but I'm not sure that it was worth the price (unless by Helsinki standards that was a standard price), and the service needs to be significantly better. Just on that last point, the wilted rose, which appeared to be at least a week old, was typical of the flowers that were on the tables. Really, I'm not sure that an abandoned dried-out flower is the best introduction to a restaurant. read more
