So we decided to order it and other pizzas, however when we opened the vegan pizza we saw that it was covered in greasy cheese which I was immediately alarmed by. We called them to confirm the if the cheese was indeed vegan and they said that it was not vegan. Which clearly indicates that they are not educated enough to know a vegan from a vegetarian. They then blamed their mistake on us. They were super rude and didn't even acknowledge the fact that they ruined someone's night. The girl who answered me was so mean she literally said that "so what do you want, a refund". The pizza costed 10€ and I'm lucky that my family ate the pizza. I'm never going to order from there!

We stopped in for drinks upon arrival and a meal. Than again for breakfast the next morning. The breakfast buffet costs 21 Euro a person. Pricy but options are substantial. I chose two toppings, shrimps and two thick slices of chevre. The dressings were perfect, pesto and vinaigrette. There was also ceasar dressing option. Only minus was that they didn't have gluten-free bread, but I didn't need it anyway. The salad box was big, recyclable and good quality and you could get plastic fork and knife. A perfect lunch salad!

There are also a few small tables outside the restaurant. - Service: The service at Maxill was great. We enjoyed our time getting to know the people working there. They even called a cab for us at the end of our meal. - Food: The menu had a good mix of Scandinavian and other flavors. We started with a fresh tomato and cheese dish. I had a shrimp pasta for my main which was tasty and filling. We shared the creme brulee for dessert and that was definitely the highlight of the meal! - Value: Overall, the value at Maxill was fairly good for Scandinavia, but it was priced like a nicer restaurant.

Not a single tourist in site, everyone speaking Finnish so we knew this was the perfect spot. Had only 30 minutes before lunch ended so we ate quick and snapped as many pictures as I could. Very interesting salads with unique dressings, most them couldn't tell what in the world made them taste so good. Helsinki proved to be awesome and to not copy Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Finland borders Russia on the East side which might be why their foods are so different and yet so delectable. Would be better to visit when the weather is warmer with some sunshine. For sure would return to this place as it was superb!

There are all types of clienteles here and you pay right when you arrive, get your plate, grab your food from the buffet line and seat whereever the table is free. Pretty casual and stress free...and the staff there do run like a well-oiled machine. They clear thr empty plates and clean the tables, and refill the food in tje buffet line as much as they can. The buffet line has a section for vegetarian and regular hot meal food. There's also a separate corner to grab your own tea/coffee as you wish, too. For ~€12 and quality all you can eat lunch...this is a very very good deal! I did try everything from the buffet line and they all tasted fresh! I had 2 full plates and a cup of tea..and didn't feel bloated after eating so much afterwards at all. If I had time to come back to Helsinki again, I would definitely want to have lunch here again. I debated goinf back there again my last day in Helsinki but unfortunately didn't have enough time to go back there...else I would be back there again! Give yourself and your friends a nice casual lunch when you are in Helsinki and you will be happy to stopped by for sure!

When I inquired about a seat outside, the employee suggested I look for a seat under an awning in case it rained. Fortunately, it never did. As I never dined here previously, my waitress explained the menu which had three sections: - Small, which were tapas - Medium, large enough to be a meal by themselves - Large, their largest & priciest entrees I ended up opting for the €65 5-course tasting menu. Consisting of three starters, one main course, and a dessert course. Rather than opting for €45 wine pairing which included three 12 centiliters of regular wine and one 12 centiliter of dessert wine, I just ordered a single glass of wine. Throughout the evening, the courses were timely served without feeling rushed. I never waited too long for the next course; yet had sufficient time to digest the current one. By the end of the third course, I was concerned about being hungry by the end. Once I finished the fourth/main course, I had just enough room for the dessert course.

They have a varied and interesting menu combining small plates and larger ones with seafood, poultry, meat and vegetarian options. Last time we had the five course tasting menu for 49€ and it was a bargain! We used to live in California and there was a 2 star Michelin restaurant close by. The food here was just as good for half the price! We sat at the open kitchen/bar and the staff chatted with us amiably while whipping up gourmet food, plating beautifully, and serving with perfect timing. My only problem is that by writing this review I might help them get as busy as they deserve to be.
