Place use to be cool back in the day when you could walk out in the JUNK yard and get what you needed! Now it sucks! Don't type an online message requesting if they have the parts to a vehicle .They're not going to respond on the computer. Why even have that option? This is a car scrap yard. I've dealt with many, and Rathe's is the rare one that lets you go out in the yard with your own tools, look around, and pull the part yourself, to your own standard of careful. For Pete's sake, this is a rough business, but these guys have been unfailingly trusting, helpful and generous - halfway to a boyscout as they used to be. I've been dealing with them for years, and now bring my older kid along to help - she actually loves coming, cause its kind of a treasure hunt, and has learned a lot about taking care of her own car from start to finish, cheap. The 12 YO boy is pretty jealous, but he'll be allowed in when he's 16. Selection and prices are as good as you could expect, and they will be helpful on the phone if you do your research and don't waste their time. I'm always sure to thank them for their help, because them allowing customers in is a privilege to us. I hope these guys are around for another 30 years at least. read more

$475 for a tow and several days"storage". That's their rate. Don't ever have your car towed by them. These people are just nasty. read more

Been going to their yard for over 20 years. They're one of the few left that still let you in to pick and get your own parts and save cash by your pulling them instead of them plus often you learn about your car/work by taking it out or looking at other cars partly apart nearby. Yes they're old school and aren't going to pamper you or hand you a latte. They also have great prices. I've gotten parts for my VW,s, Honda,s, Chevy's, and Caravan and probably a few cars I've forgotten about. See how the other half lives somebody else commented ? Sorry, these guys are working for a living, I don't know what that reviewer's background is but I can bet he's not deep into greasy knucklebusting hard labor in all kinds of weather. read more

I called today to ask about a part for my car. The guy I spoke to on the phone was less than friendly. Actually straight up rude and disrespectful. When I asked if they had the part I needed he said I can come by and get it myself and that they "don't deal with it". I asked if they had the car I needed the part from and his response was, "we have 2000 cars, how am I suppose to know what parts come in and out?" The website says their mission is, "To provide professional and courteous service and a safe environment for our customers and employees. Our ultimate goal is to serve you and make your experience a pleasant one, and our team will stop at nothing to ensure that you come away more than satisfied." I can honestly say I didn't get any of that and I am much LESS than satisfied or impressed. This is the second time I have called and received a rude response from them. Which is very frustrating considering the website also says "Give us a call at (802) 655-0651 and we'll let you know what we have on our lot." I will take my business elsewhere. read more
