Woohoo! My 200th review. Where are the balloons? Oh well... We drive every year out to have our taxes done by Jack. It isn't from a lack of trying to find an accountant in San Diego. We've tried several. Jack is simply the best we've found. Filing your taxes isn't the hard part. You can most likely just use Turbo Tax or something if you are filing boring taxes. Where Jack is worth his weight in gold is for helping with the long term tax strategies. We have a couple rental properties and currently one residence (soon it will be two). Little things like which properties are paid off, and which properties you can have loans on makes a huge difference. Changes in your life matter too. Jack has helped me navigate which buckets to keep my money in (what is great when you are single might suck when you are married). He also seems to have a calculator fetish; so I don't feel too guilty when we give him a large pile of receipts. read more

Yes ~ I know, I drive all the way to Yucca Valley from San Diego to get my taxes done every year with Jack! Guess what? It is well worth every penny and every ounce of energy to drive down here. If there is 10 stars, I would give it to this business and I cannot thank them enough for the tens and thousands of dollars that Jack saved me on taxes.Below are the reasons why Jack is the best tax accountant that I've met. 1. Outstanding client service: Generally when tax accountant prepares a client's tax during tax season, they are very overwhelmed by the number of clients that rushed through. I tried 4 different tax accountants before I started seeing Jack, they generally don't put in too much thoughts into preparation let along understand you as an individual. Jack takes the time to get to know us, understanding our situation (i.e. recently married, property ownership, rental properties). This really helps him to dial in the best tax strategy and preparation and have offered a lot of additional financial advises during our appointment. 2. Detailed oriented: Jack is very detail oriented and very sharp with numbers. He picked up a lot of financial details and was able to find a lot of tax deduction that we couldn't think of or forgot. Also, he actually calculate your taxes/receipt on the spot. Unlike the previous 4 tax accountants that I've tried, they are lazy and asked me to do all the calculation. (If I want to calculate all the finances, I would use Turbo tax already). But Jack never does that. 3. Strategic planner: Jack help undo the mistake that my previous tax accountants have done (I've lost over $25,000 in rental property and thanks to my previous tax accountant many upgrades to the property and deduction were not claimed). Jack provided practical advice for rental property tax strategy (Jack owns multiple rental properties and property management company as well, so he understands the landlord's pain very well). My husband had to sell his rental property last year for a lost due to tenants destroying his property. Thanks to Jack, he was able to save us over $10,000 in taxes. We were hit heavily 2 years ago with marriage penalty taxes due to our income bracket after marriage. Jack was able to help us strategically planned out our tax situation, and our tax situation were much better now after we dialed in a few things. 4. Trustworthy: Jack is very trustworthy and have a very high moral integrity. I would trust him with all my heart. In three years, Jack saved us over $30,000 in taxes. Awful service. I scheduled an appointment with Thomas for a consultation and took time out of work to attend the appointment. When I showed up for my appointment I was told by the receptionist that Thomas wasn't in and would not be back for the rest of the day. I took vacation time from my full time job to attend this appointment and informed the receptionist of this. The receptionist was completely dismissive and told me I could come back tomorrow or meet with someone else at 4 pm. No apology for inconveniencing me. I informed her it is a professional courtesy to inform clients of cancellations and she again was extremely dismissive. So unprofessional. I will never go back and would not trust this "company" with my money. I had heard bad things from locals about this company and my experience today confirmed their negative reviews. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Rarick. read more

Seriously?! I've been doing this wrong this whole time?! I've done Turbo Tax, I've done H+R block, and I've done a shady person in Banning. This place is where you NEED to get your taxes done! They knew of write offs that H+R block didn't even know of, and ones that Turbo Tax didn't even ask! Make an appointment and ask for Tom (that's who I saw).- I went from owing a bunch, to getting a bunch back-- all legit. read more

You did our 2014 taxes and we got audited from the IRS. Your office wrote a letter to the IRS after me calling and emailing you numerous times. Once that letter was denied, I again called and emailed you numerous times. Finally, I was contacted back and was told to contact the IRS and talk to them myself for something your office prepared. I had no clue how to describe what you prepared on the form and why we dont owe that money. Nothing came from that meeting with the IRS. This year we went to H & R Block and they did a second look. They found that your office claimed the wrong dependent on our 2014 taxes and because of that the IRS removed all dependents. No thanks to your office this issue may be eliminated. read more
