When you try this place their coffee is delicious, it was a little strange checking them out in a gas station and not a traditional storefront but wow! The service was great, the staff were busy running the gas station and preparing our orders. The ambiance is nice, very clean, and good selection of drinks and baked goods. We didn't try anything from their baked goods section but we'll be back. We are strong believers that life is too short to drink bad coffee! This place is way less crowded than Boba Addict next door and the service is superb, it was only my second time here so I was a bit slow on deciding what I wanted but the barista girl was super friendly, smiley, helpful, bubbly, cheerful and patient. I think probably the best service I've ever received in Fresno. I ended up ordering an iced salted caramel creme brûlée coffee and it tastes great. She gave me a free sample of brownie and told me it's really really good !!! , but unfortunately I ended up dropping it on the ground in the parking lot since I'm clumsy:-( I'll try it next time. Eh, it was okay. Went for the second time today, came back with a Iced Chai Oat milk Latte that had a strange kick at the end. Tasted like the milk was going bad. Wouldn't recommend that one. Last time I had a black iced coffee and it tasted off, as if it was from an old brew. I have a friend that really enjoys the Hot Matcha Latte, but I can't say I am excited to try it. I often have my dog with me and they make fuss over her which dogs love and the owners too I have to say . When I first started going you could get a burrito from a food vendor inside . He would come to the window himself and do that deal. Not sure if they still do that . That was convenient but food or no, Rare Earth is a place to try . Don't let the location or Mini Mart image put you off . This is not Mini Mart coffee . Go in or use the drive through and try it . Tip: when exiting the drive through, leave on Alluvial not Willow as the traffic can make it hard to get out on the street . Alluvial has less traffic and you can go either direction . On weekends there is a Red taco trailer in the parking lot worth trying . Great tacos and burros . Maybe they could add basic dog treats for dog visitors . I was blown away by not only how great the coffee was but also how wonderful the service was. I have built relationships with the baristas and look forward to their smiles and energy in the morning everyday. Yes, everyyyyday. Michelle has a great team in Fresno. I don't know what is off about this coffee, but something is. I've gotten coffee here a few times and it was just okay, but with my last purchase (some sort of blended coffee), I actually tossed it. I believe that was the first time in my life I ever got coffee that I couldn't finish. I couldn't even taste coffee. I even wondered if there was something wrong with the water. Love this coffee place! Tried this place a couple days ago and it was amazing! It kind of makes you wonder why anyone would ever settle for watered down Starbucks coffee when this liquid gold exists. Hubby got their featured drink called the "Aloha Mocha" and I got an Iced latte with vanilla and banana syrup. Both drinks were made really well and the coffee they use is excellent quality. Aside from our drinks we also ordered some chocolate macaroons because...why not?! Those were delicious as well and really took care of my sweet tooth. Definitely recommend them (other macaroon flavors available as well). Pros -Fast service -Friendly and helpful staff! My husband asked for some recommendations on what to try and the woman taking our order was knowledgable and very helpful. -Excellent quality coffee and syrups -Staff knows their coffee and they know it well! Cons -Only two locations in Fresno and the closest one to us is still a bit out of the way for us to visit as frequently as we'd like but who am I kidding, that's not going to stop us lol. First, this location is co-located with a gas station. Not a place I'd really want to hang out. Ordered breakfast burritos online via GrubHub. NOPE, no burritos when I arrived. Order was cancelled. Only options were prepackaged things. Coffees were pretty bland for my liking. If you enjoy well made craft coffee, this is not the place for you. An americanized drive thru coffee place that I really like because I could customize my drinks to my liking, served with really good customer service and their prices is really fair for quality coffee and ingredients (under $4 tax included). Credit card, debit card and cash friendly too. Im normally not a fan of americanized coffee because its not how proper coffee is suppose to be made, no offense or anything- I understand americans love their ice blended and what not. What I mean by proper coffee is real latte with the art, bold americano, and properly frothed cappuccino. However, rare earth coffee appeals to me because their coffee is actually great quality coffee- its roasted properly and the coffee beans they use is fresh, therefore the strong aroma and flavor is present in every one of their drinks. Hey don't get me wrong its still not a proper coffee in my books, but for an americanized coffee place, they are doing well. The appeal of this place is the customization: you can have it ice blended or just on rocks, hot or cold, no sugar or less sweet or super sweet, thats you're choice, finally what kind of milk you would want it with, almond, cow or soy. Whip cream or plain. They also have suggested drinks that you can order if you are not sure, and smoothies. I ordered an ice blended bold style coffee with almond milk, very lightly sweetened. The result was a delicious $3.75 cup with the right taste, aroma, perfect sweetness and great consistency. Best of all for under $4 a drink- very fair priced The service is really good here- drink was ready between 3-4 minutes, the female employee was very helpful with my requested drink and also was utterly friendly and even gave me a discount, she went out of her way to be super sweet. I do value this attitude and service in the coffee business, because many coffee places are lacking this, expect for maybe dutch bros, so in comparison their service is just as great as dutch bros. read more
