I recently lost my brother and travelled to Ranger's Cremation and Burial Services to collect his remains. Unfortunately, what should have been a difficult but respectful experience during an incredibly painful time turned into an upsetting and deeply disappointing one.
I arrived with questions and spoke calmly and respectfully. I was completely taken aback by the response from one of the staff members. Rather than addressing my questions professionally, she became confrontational, raised her voice, repeatedly talked over me, and pointed her finger directly in my face. Her behaviour was extremely rude and intimidating.
I was standing there trying to collect my brother's ashes while grieving his loss. Instead of being met with compassion, patience, and understanding, I left the facility in tears. No grieving family member should have to experience that, especially while carrying out something as painful as collecting a loved one's remains.
There was another staff member present who appeared visibly uncomfortable and shocked by what was happening, yet unfortunately, she did not intervene. When I later went to her to receive my brother's ashes, there was no apology or acknowledgement of what had occurred.
I find it incredibly heartbreaking that someone working in a profession that serves grieving families could treat a family member with such a lack of empathy and compassion. At a time when families are already experiencing unimaginable pain, kindness and professionalism should be the bare minimum.
This was an absolutely horrible experience, and one I will never forget. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Ranger's Cremation and Burial Services to others. I sincerely hope management takes this complaint seriously and ensures that no other grieving family has to endure a similar experience. read more
