Our exchange student went here this last year, so everything you're about to read is coming from…read moresomeone who did not actually attend the school. The school seems completely unorganized and chaotic. They attempt to be a school of the 21st century, but they fail miserably. There is little to no printed information given to students about anything. Everything is handled via these dumb iPads the taxpayers wasted their money on, but sometimes they don't work. As parents, we just felt out of the loop, as everything the teachers do happens on these iPads. The school schedule changes from day to day, with classes starting at one time on a Monday or Tuesday, and then starting at a completely different time on any other day. The students are given chunks of free time and are expected to manage that time like they were "in a career setting," but they mostly just wonder the halls and play games and text on these iPads. They have WAY too much free time at this school. They have things like "academic support" and "RAMP." I couldn't tell you the first thing about "RAMP" other than it's sponsored by the U of M and it's some kind of mandatory college prep thing that helps walk your kid through applying for schools and loans. (Which to a foreign exchange student is completely useless.) I can tell you that if it were my child attending that school, I would have some serious problems with the way things seem to work there. I know schools have changed since I graduated in 99, but this place is an absolute mess.

did no give me answers to my spanish test even tho i asked nicely…read morevery rude :( As a former student/parent/community member, I have to say my experience with Lakeville South High School has been disappointing in several areas. While the facilities are modern and the school offers a decent range of extracurriculars, there are ongoing issues that can't be overlooked. First, communication between the administration and families is inconsistent and sometimes dismissive. Concerns raised by students or parents often feel brushed aside, and it's hard to know where to turn for meaningful support. Academic rigor also varies wildly between teachers, with some classes being well-taught and others lacking clear direction or engagement. Bullying and student behavior issues are another concern--despite a stated commitment to a safe environment, follow-through on discipline and accountability often seems weak or inconsistent. This affects not only student morale but also the classroom learning environment. Finally, while some staff are deeply committed and caring, there seems to be a broader culture of going through the motions rather than striving for excellence or innovation. Lakeville South has potential, but without stronger leadership, better communication, and more consistent academic and behavioral standards, it struggles to deliver the quality experience that students and families deserve.

Disclaimer: The review is for the facility itself. No one I know attends this school. 4/5 as this…read moreschool is hard to find and they built it in a residential area. Our family attended an Away Boys Basketball game here. Parking was plentiful as we were far away. They have a practice gym and a game gym and it even has a walking track around it. Newer schools are designed much better. Bathrooms and concessions conveniently located to gym. Tiny complaint: the scoreboard should include player #, fouls and points like Apple Valley High School has. Otherwise a good venue for basketball games. Lakeville South are the Cougars not to be confused with older women dating younger men.
