I was in the area and looking for lunch...I was not aware that Randhurst (Mall) is now Randhurst Village, and what an improvement! So many of my favorite stores located here -- BBW, HomeGoods, Michael's -- and so many restaurants -- Altea, Blackfinn, BWW, Chipotle, 5Guys, Grade A Cafe, Hangry Joe's, Hong Dae Korean Bar & Grill, Mr. Kimchi, and a lot more. You can watch movies, work out, get a massage, and more. There's a Hampton Inn & Suites. This is a bit of a drive for me, but I really enjoyed checking out the space and having a bite to eat. As others have noted, the layout and traffic patterns are a bit of a mess, and I did see that several anchor locations are still empty. Still, compare Randhurst Village to the vanishing Northbrook Court, and you will see how vital for a community to have this kind of space. read more

I have been to Randhurst Village many, many times. I went there often as a child when Randhurst was an indoor mall. It had a wide range of stores and a bomb shelter in the lower lower level (it was built during the cold war after all). It has evolved since then to become an outdoor shopping center. Randhurst Village is home to many great stores and restaurants. My favorites include AMC theaters, Mr. Kimchee, McAlister's Cafe, and Grade A Cafe. I encourage you to come and find a favorite for yourself. While Randhurst Village is a great shopping center, getting around is not easy. The traffic pattern and traffic flow, does not actually flow very well, if at all. From random turns, to traffic circles, to traffic leading directly into parking spaces without any warning is a challenge to say the least. Sad so sad this was my go to mall when I was a yut. They did a beautiful job converting the mall from an enclosed mall to an outdoor door mall similar to Old Orchard, but sadly it seems to be lacking anchor tenants. The parking & traffic circulation is kind of whacked. There were quite a few cars parked but the really bizarre thing is there is almost no signage on the stores. The mall was almost totally devoid of people. This is especially odd as it was a gorgeous spring day Today I dropped off my car by Discount Tire so I could purchase a new set of Michelin, tires so I decided to take a walk to Randhurst to grab a late lunch. Despite the confusion of the lots and drive lanes, this mall has really begun to come back to life. Several new places have come in the past year. Great security I must say. The guards are all professional, polite and informative. They are so much better then so many security groups these days. They have brought the property a complete 180 from how it was. No more want to be gang members from the neighborhood nextdoor, the fire alarms have stopped, obnoxious teens are next to non existent and the vehicle loitering has been drastically reduced from what I can tell. Every time I see them I wave and get an enthusiastic wave in return. I see why the mall chose this company. I do wish the mall would get something in to the old Steak and shake place though. read more

As numerous reviews have stated -- the single most frustrating thing about this shopping center is the traffic and parking layout. It's always a pain to drive within the shopping center (especially when it's busy) and especially in the dark. With that complaint aside -- the nice collection of stores and restaurants here bring a set of premium options to local residents and is well balanced and diverse. Amongst my favorites are: - E+O Food and Drink: Creative and tasty fusion cuisine - AMC Theatres: Very modern, some of the best equipment I've seen in the area - Smokey Bones: A good change of pace from the normal BBQ options - Truco Taqueria: Delicious premium tacos at a reasonable price. - World Market: Eclectic mix of products from around the world - Steak 'N Shake: Perfect binge food after a late night movie - Costco: Premium warehouse with bargain prices Mix in everything else from a Home Depot to a Massage Envy to a Petsmart to a Hampton Inn and a Bed Bath & Beyond and you have a diverse mix of shops to cover every interest and prices ranging from bargain to premium. This is somewhat of a missed opportunity for being something truly special as the space could have lent itself to being an extremely popular center for families and tourists. However, the layout forces shops to be disjointed and difficult to walk between. Sometimes shoppers will dread having to drive from one store to another within the same shopping center just because of the confusing traffic and layout. Based on other reviews, I had no idea this was an indoor mall in the past, but I agree 100% about the crazy parking and the kooky maze layout. Why is everything so spread out? The initial reason I found my way out to Randhurst Village was because of World Market. Let me tell you, I'm devastated World Market closed right by my house in the Highland Park/Northbrook area. The closest World Market locations are Mt. Prospect and Evanston, so I figured I'd have a new experience and go to Mt. Prospect. As a side note, I also stopped into Michael's during this particular visit, but finding both of the stores was crazy, and I had to circle around twice before I figured out where to go. At first glance Randhurst Village reminded me of The Glen Town Center. But the shops are too far apart and not super walkable. Maybe in the summer it would make for some nice exercise, but not when it's cold or when you're in a hurry. I couldn't tell if it the mall was new or dying, because there were a lot of closed shops (Charming Charlie, Lumen Optical, Carson Pirie Scott to name a few). On the plus side, I discovered a new MOD Pizza, and I'm a huge fan of that chain. I hope they do well. To be honest, the only reason I'd come back to this mall would be for World Market (if I don't end up in Evanston). I did get the chance to check out the movie theater, and I left a separate review for that. read more

I grew up with Randhurst Mall. I understand why it was eventually torn down (and I mourn a demolished piece of my childhood -- which had a fantastic food court layout), but I still cannot understand [years later] why this newer shopping center is here. And why these particular stores --- a mix of high-end products, some restaurants, a movie theater, and a couple kids clothing stores that don't make sense woven together? In this particular layout?? And the place is still half empty! Who are they trying to attract? Like everyone else said, the parking lot is terrible: haphazard and most of the lot is a long walk from the actual shops. There's even a useless traffic circle thrown into the mix. And is anyone even staying in that hotel?? I don't know. We'll see how long this lasts. I do love World Market, though. read more

I am a 18 year old girl and I felt threatened by the Randhurst village security. It was 9:40 and there's about 20/30 cars in the same parking lot as I. There are stores still open and the security guy comes up to my window and tells me I need to leave and I said okay have a nice day and he goes don't tell me when to leave. He sits behind me in his car for 3 minutes after that staring at me through the rear view mirror. I decided to get out and go up to him and say there's other people in this parking lot isn't that profiling because I'm a black women and he's a white man and he says get back in your car and I said mhm and as I'm walking away I hear him say very clearly don't make me get out of my car and pretty sure I heard him say bitch at the end. He was extremely aggressive the entire interaction and I hope he gets fired !!! read more

Ttying to get to the outlying stores or any store is a nightmare Whose bright idea was it to put in a Round-A-Bout???

Honestly, this place was a million times better as a dying indoor mall. Instead of having a broad array of good stores the mall was redesigned to show off a small selection of mediocre stores. The restaurants are just as exciting. Everything at Randhurst is on borrowed time. I loved the Charming Charlie's and the Carson's but one is gone and the other is on it's way out. The only thing that will make me come back here is the World Market and Nothing Bundt Cakes. That's about it. Too bad. read more

The old Randhurst was something 90's dreams were made of. This new Randhurst.... the parking is a bad dream, an accident waiting to happen. You will understand when you try to navigate through. Plus the parking garage is far away from everything! There is not really a mall, with the typical mall stores and mall crowds. It's a bunch of random stores and restaurants thrown together within a small area. If you are looking for an "outdoor mall" feel with a bunch of current stores, restaurants, and typical mall fare like cookies and soft pretzels....try Old Orchard! read more

This mall is well on its way to being a ghost town. Its only big store is Carson's - which itself has lost a lot of its former luster. Walking through, you see a lot of vacant stores. The retailers that are there are pretty lackluster. The only store I'm remotely interested in is the Big Toy Express, which has wonderful sturdy toys/furniture for kids. It now has the saddest excuse for a food court. McD's is the only food outlet I recognize, and I won't eat there. Except for the food court, the second level is almost entirely empty. What happened Randhurst?? It has a couple of things going for it: a Bed Bath & Beyond store and a kick-ass Costco. But both are standalone stores that you have to leave the mall to access. They do have a kids play area. But really nothing of interest for adults. We passed one store, Jean Outlet, and just eyeballing their offerings was amusing. If I ever want to dress like a pimp for Halloween, I'll go there (if they are still around by then). read more

Can somebody explain to me why they built an outdoor mall around a hotel? A hotel that isn't by the airport, the highway, or any public transit? I feel like it's early to judge this place since there are still a number of unfilled stores. As it stands, the selection seems a little bizarre. The mix of places trying to draw upscale shoppers (restaurants you wouldn't visit with children, Parmida Home, Phoenix Salon. European Jewelry) don't mesh well with the young and single man type places (Buffalo Wild Wings, Sports Authority) and the kid-oriented places (Pigtails & Crewcuts, Carter's, Children's Place, Menchie's). TJ Maxx and Old Navy seem randomly thrown in, the theater is far away from everything else, and the sole "anchor" store (Carson Pirie Scott) is not centrally located. The Costco doesn't have enough parking, Bed Bath and Beyond is difficult to access from the main area, and oh hey, there's a Jewel. I love this Carter's location, don't get me wrong. I can always find parking, and even Black Friday was easy to do here because there aren't any crowds. I also thought Menchie's was pretty good and like being able to walk around outside as I shop in the summer. I can't see myself Christmas shopping here, though, when Woodfield offers shelter from the freezing wind, ice-free walking surfaces, and more stores. I'd hoped that when they tore down the old Randhurst, they might bring back some of the independent businesses (like Comix Revolution) or have a space for community events (like the art shows they used to have). So far, these things are absent. I also have no clue why there are two cell phone stores but no stores with clothes for grown-ass women (Torrid and Charlotte Russe don't count). I have hope that this awkwardly-arranged, half-empty outdoor mall might someday rival the mall it replaced, which was a mall designed by an award-winning architect and a great food court. For now, I can only give it three stars, and that's being generous. read more

I'm going to keep this short. I'm happy with the new businesses Randhurst Village has brought to the area. The old Randhurst mall was failing. However, the old mall held a good portion of history of this wonderful town. I would have like to seen them salvage part of the old mall or somehow pay tribute to it. I would like to meet the man who designed this parking lot and punch him in the face. Its by far the worst parking lot I have ever seen. Navigating around the cinema is easy enough, but the whole west side of the parking lot is a joke. The new Randhurst is slowly improving as far as shops, restaurants. I like BlackFinn, E&O, want to try others. Carsons remodeled and is a nice store. we are slowly trying other shops. Unfortunately, the roadways and parking lot are the most poorly thought out and planned that I have ever experienced since I started driving a long time ago, at least in my opinion Yes, if you go there a lot, you will figure out how to make it less painful. Oh how I miss the day when Randhurst was a great place to shop! When was that... let's see, thirteen years ago and longer... amazing how stores make the mall, eh? Seriously, Randhurst had potential, but it's in its second decline in my memory, so I have no serious suggestions. I've heard locals say that they think they should turn it into an outlet mall, but I don't know that it'll work. As for what there is to go to... well, Home Depot, Costco, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Steve & Barry's, Borders, Jewel, AMC Theaters, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees, Steak & Shake, Egg Factory, and a few places in the mall (Children's Place, Carson's, Victoria's Secret, Claire's, etc...). It still could be what it was, but they don't have the foot traffic anymore. People got to Applebees (the only restaurant attached to the mall) and leave, they don't go in. The Comic book shop that was there in the 80's is still there and probably has the most destination sales of every place else in the mall. I wish it well, its a great location, the theaters are still nice and we definitely end up shopping there... it's just a matter of getting people to go back IN the mall. read more

The new and improved randhurst is slowly becoming my new favorite shopping/entertainment center! The new TJ Maxx is great..the new theater is sooo much better than what used to be in the old theater.. There is a nice sports authority and Carson's, annnd bed bath and beyond on the same plaza! Oooh and Tmobile.. The layout of the plaza is so cute now! I've driven there just to enjoy the view... Yes things are still empty but I can see it becoming the new hot spot! I haven't had the chance to try out the new restaurants, just the buffalo wild wings.. Will do so when the weather warms up. There is sooo much parking now, and it's conveniently located.. I approve of the beautiful changes this new village is going though! read more

Would have given three stars for very average mall but the parking lot is unnecessarily confusing. Take a wrong turn and your shot into a different traffic stream and can't get back. I recently took my son to a movie and it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to get to the appropriate parking area. If you have a toddler that's 10 minutes I didn't have! We finally got in and enjoyed the movie, but I think to myself WTF!! every time I drive through the parking lot. read more

Randhurst mall was my childhood! I remember getting lunch at the food court, getting an ice cream and riding on the carousel or just watching it go by. I went here very frequently with my parents. My mom shopped around while I wandered around with my dad and did what little kids do. And now, it's dead. I feel really sad whenever I come by this shopping mall. Seriously, it used to be packed a while ago. What went wrong? Randhurst used to have so many stores. It even had an arcade (with a jerky guy at the counter who scared me from ever getting into an arcade ever again). What you'll find today? People below have listed them already and that's pretty much it. There's not much to see in those stores. It's really not worth for any newcomers, and it's just depressing for people who used to frequent this place back then. read more

I really enjoy shopping here and I'm not a huge fan of shopping. The spread out design here makes me happy because there's always tons of parking and there's never a ton of people in the stores. I live less than five minutes away. I can go see a movie in the AMC with their amazing seats, have a drink at the billy goat[I love Gail!!], go grab a dress at Old Navy and get my bulk shopping on at Cost-co all in the same place! The only reason I dock any stars: -I hate that Torrid. I can't simply go browse around without being stalked around the store and asked if I want a dressing room 100000000000 times. They also try to give you advice on clothes, and they dress terribly. No offense, but I don't really want to take advice from you. One girl was even walking around barefoot when I was there. -A drunk crazy person made the parking lot. After going here so many times, I have deciphered which series of crazy turns I need to make to get to the place I want to go to in the shortest amount of time. read more

Let's start off with the bad: Yes, the parking lot is a nightmare. At 8:00 am there is no one in line for Panera drivethru. Why? Because no one can figure out how to get there! You have to make like 5 turns and go through the damn traffic circle just to get your morning coffee. So much time wasted! I kinda like that there is no line though. :) There is a really sharp curve going from Panera to traffic circle as well (to get out), and it's almost impossible to turn there without going over the center line. It's scary as hell, especially first thing in the morning. So just be careful people, drive cautiously. Good: I like TJMaxx, World Market, Petsmart, Home Depot. E+O is a fantastic new restaurant, but pricey enough to only go there for special occasions. Black Finn is pretty good. Chipotle and Five Guys are amazing. I sort of like the 'promenade' or 'village' style by the movie theater, but there isn't enough draw to make me want to go to that part of randhurst. The little shops are strange and expensive looking. read more

I agree with the man who thinks the parking on the west side of Randhurst is a mess. It's confusing and circuitous. But the other critics are off the mark entirely. Complaints about the diverse appeal of different stores is proof only of ignorance -- wow, don't you think they WANT to appeal to different sectors of the population? This mall, like our economy today, is growing slowly, but growing nonetheless. That's healthy growth, as opposed to tons of stores rushing in, then half of them failing within a year. When you drive around the perimeter and walk in the central area looking at all the stores & restaurants, there is a charm to it that is quite appealing. Among all these options I can find gifts for everyone on my list (whether birthday or anniversary, wedding, new baby or Christmas), and at an affordable price; as well as most everything that I want or need. I think there's even a vitamin/healthfood store now. My husband and I shop at Jewel every week. New locations keep opening, expanding the opportunities and choices here. And we must take our hats off to Carson's in a big way. While other original anchors failed, and Penny's and Kohl's deserted us, Carson's has stuck it out, evolving with our town and our economy. They are one of the most active and vibrant places in the mall to this day. Their parking lot is always full and they always have beautiful products & wonderful sales going on. I remember going to this mall in the 80's and early 90's. If you were in highschool, you and all of your cool friends would load up in a car and meet up with your buddies from McGreevies, Photon, and Medusa's. I have the sweetest and fondest memories of Randhurst Mall. It was always packed, the stores were cool, and their newly renovated food court back then was the cat's meow. It was one of the first of it's kind. Today it is worse than a ghost town. Even their Victoria's Secret store blows. Tons of crappy stores open here and there...a toy store that you are not allowed to play in, a weird gift shop for grandmas and religious nuts, and don't even get me started on Carsons. It is dotted throughout with vacant stores. I don't know how any of them stay in business. There is only 3 restaurants that remain open in the food court. The freestanding theater that used to be cool now is also sadly declining. The only reason to go there now is the stores that dot the perimeter of the mall on the outside such as Costco. read more

My wife and I have been to the village many times since it has opened. The driving patterns are unique, and hard to figure out, but that is the only negative I can think of. On the positive side, it has a lot oing for it. It is open and conducive for exploration. It has a very big variety of stores, and it will be interesting to see how it develops over time. I see it as a good meeting place for people which could happen even if there is snow on the ground. I encourage you all to go and explore, and have fun while you do this. This is a better activity than believing the negative statements that have been written about this new venture. Whether we like ir or not, the village is, and it is what it is. I encourage all to come and explore, rather than sit back and judge. read more

Its an outdoor mall but its sure not Old Orchard... The Parking lot is a maze and my best advice is to enter the lot nearest to the store you intend on visiting. I've lived down the road from the place for a while now, and that crack about it taking 5 turns to get into the Panera drive through is not a joke... Still its well worth a visit even with the craziness. Personally I prefer downtown Arlington Heights. read more

The Randhurst mall is a great place to shop. They have all your standard stores. It's never too crowded and there's plenty of shops to shop around at. And when you get exhausted from all the shopping, they have an awesome two-level food court where you can find just about anything you are craving. This is definitely one of my favorite places to shop in Chicago! read more

Randhurst has had a major facelift and is pretty nice now. I really only come here for Costco (and gas) and sometimes Home Depot but have gone to BBB as well. I feel like the restaurants here are only okay - not the best choices. I can't wait until the Chick-fil-A opens and I would love if a Trader Joe's and/or Whole Foods opened here so I don't have to go so far to either of these stores. read more
