I called Rancho Tree Service to get an estimate to remove about a dozen large rose bushes that were growing along the fence line to our rental property, as we were having a new fence installed the following week. He came out like he said he would, and gave us an estimate on the bush removal, and trimming back two hibiscus plants that I wanted to keep, but needed them cut back away from the fence. It sounded like a good price to me, and he said they could come out and do the job Thursday of that week. I sat at the rental all day, waiting for them to show up, but they didn't. About 3:00 I called to see if they were coming. I was told that due to the heat (it was about 105), they had to cut the day short. I understood, because it was a really hot day, but felt they should have called me to let me know they weren't coming. I was also panicking, because I had to get someone ASAP to remove the plants before Wednesday the following week. I asked the secretary when they could come out, because I really had to get it done in time before the fence guys came out. She assured me that they could get it done on Tuesday. I told her that was the day before, and I needed to be SURE they would come out...even if it was another hot day. She said she'd make sure I was the first one for that day. She told me I could call Monday to find out what time they'd be there on Tuesday. She gave me the owner, or foreman's (?) number so I could call him direct to get a time. I was thrilled when they showed up on Tuesday morning. It was a lot of work, and took most of the day, but they got it done, cleaned up all the mess, and were on their way. The secretary called to see if I was satisfied with the job, and I told her I was, and asked if she could email me an invoice for my taxes, showing we paid, which she did. Although we got off to a rocky start, they did get the job done in time, and I felt it was a good price for all the work they did. I would give them another chance if I had anymore work to be done. Short Version: Would NOT recommend this tree service company. The receptionist along with the Owner Jose De La Cruz do not value customers, do not have any regards to keeping a schedule, constantly avoiding phones calls and not calling back like they instructed they would. Extended Version: I had more to write but the limit of characters is not enough to explain completely how unprofessional this company is. Pretty much the owner and the receptionist do not communicate very well because the receptionist would tell me one thing and the owner another and vice versa. This company has no regards to showing up at the time that was scheduled. We had a scheduled time of 8am and no one showed up and then at 11am and again no one showed up and not until I FINALLY got a hold of the owner (would call their work and receptionist said she would call me back and never did and when I would call constantly no one would answer) did he tell me that his crew would be sent out "right now" .......which two hours later his crew finally was sent and the job was completed at 4pm!!!!. During my phone conversation with the owner he informed me that he would call me 30 minutes before the crew is sent out and did I receive a phone call.....NO!!! He blamed the fact that the job that we had hired them to do was such a small profit that they don't schedule a set time for when the work will be completed (even though the receptionist kept giving us a new time that the crew would be sent)....they simply show up when they can that day that was scheduled. IDK why NO ONE told us this in the first place and why the receptionist constantly gave us different times that someone was going to be sent out. The first time I attempted to contacting the owner I received his voicemail and didn't get a call back (receptionist gave me his number) and when I inquired as to why he didn't call me back (when I finally reached him at the office) the owner said that he doesn't carry his phone on him that his crew has his phone. IDK why the receptionist wouldn't know that the number she gave me wasn't going to be on the owner who I was asking to speak with and didn't know that the crew had his phone if that's even true. At one point when I finally reached the owner at the office my boyfriend called the office number (there are two office numbers) asking the receptionist to speak with the owner and she informed him that he wasn't in office when I was speaking to him on the other office line so she flat out lied. To summarize.... THIS COMPANY HAS NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUNNING A BUSINESS PROPERLY. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMAPNY TO ANYONE......EVER!!! I'VE HAD PLENTY OF BAD EXPERIENCES INVOLVING BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT THIS COMPANY TAKES THE CAKE. NO WONDER THEIR PRICES ARE SO LOW.....THE PRICE DOESNT OUT WEIGH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WORK ETHIC. I wish I would of read the reviews before using them. We had such an awful experience with them. Its a shame people do business like this, but we are lucky to have good businesses still in our town. Rancho Tree Service is definitely not a tree service you want to use they gave me a bid for $200 to trim my palm trees the owner Jose Delacruz came to check out the bid because I had to call several times when they never would show up to do the work. Finally Jose came out to look at my trees was disgusted at the low bid but he still had his crew come out they butchered/over trimmed one of my trees so bad that it was leaning about 15°. I asked José the owner to come out to my residence to look at my problem he said he was going to show up on a Friday after work he never showed I called him back the following Tuesday at 11 AM and he proceeded to tell me that the wind caused the damage and I said please come out and look at the tree at that point he started screaming and told me that if I wanted to settle this matter to meet him at the park! José knew I was in considerable amount of pain, on medication and that I was disabled because when he came to my residence to go over the bid I informed him that I had medical issues. But yet he wanted me to meet him at the park to settle an over trimmed palm tree. I told him he was very unprofessional and that I would handle the matter from here I contacted the state licensing board and am in progress of having the matter settled by the state licensing board. read more
