If you are feeling adventurous a ride from Guajome Park to the Adobe with your horse might just be for you! There are some fun trials up the hillsides. There is much less foot and bicycle traffic over there also.

There is a lot of exploring to do at this park besides taking a tour of the Adobe. But I highly recommend spending the $3 for adults - $1 for kids and taking an hour to walk through this historical building. On the weekends there are guiding tours at specified times, but you can always do a self guided tour and go at your own place. They give you a binder and you can take your time through the breezy corridors and absorb the history. We were the only ones there on a Sunday and we had run of the house. I thought this was a better learning experience than the Santa Barbara Mission. There are walking trails behind the Adobe, so come ready to stretch your legs a bit. - Nice bathrooms all things considered.. - Across the street from the North Coast Church.

Very cool historic spot to see if you're in the vista area. Walked around the adobe with my 4 year old and it was fun and a little creepy! Lots of rooms beautifully preserved from the 1850's and everything was very well kept. Nice spot in the front for a picnic and very clean bathrooms!

What wonderful surprise! I had no idea this Adobe House and Park existed until a friend pointed it out to me. The house was built in 1852-53 with later additions and alterations, and is 7,000sq ft. large, with a beautiful courtyard and 28 rooms. Almost all the rooms are open to the public and many have period furnishings and decorations. Admission is only $3 and there is plenty of parking. One of the park rangers gave me a three page guide with a brief description for each room. On the back is a very useful floor plan of the adobe. For photography (which is what I like to do) this place is excellent. I spent over two hours photographing the inside and outside together with twenty members of my photo group. The place is so large that we rarely got into each others shots. I highly recommend this little known jewel.

The adobe is an amazing piece of California's history that needs to be remembered and never forgotten. The San Diego parks department has meticulously restored the hacienda to what it would have looked in its heyday using family belongings and period pieces. Visitor's can explore living quarters, a classroom, kitchens, and a host of other areas. Preserved in such detail that if you listen closely, you may catch the creaking of floorboards of holiday guests, or laughter carried in by a breeze of children playing around the old pepper tree in the outer courtyard.

This county park is the perfect wedding venue for people looking to have a magical wedding without spending a fortune. I paid $1010 from 8am-7:30pm for the Victorian Garden which has a capacity of 250 people. It has a dancefloor and a beautiful arch...the bathrooms are extremely clean and the staff is really nice. The only downside is that they never answer the phone, you always have to leave a message but they will get back to you by the end of the day. Parking is included in the fee and there is plenty of it. Perfect place to have a wedding... :) great memories and beautiful pictures.

We come up here once a year the Saturday after Thanksgiving for the Christmas at the Adobe event that the park rangers and volunteers put on For $5 adults and $3 kids it's a great event. You can tour the rooms, there are beautiful dancers, arts and crafts tables (Gods Eyes, candle dipping, corn husk dolls) for the kids and you can watch a blacksmith, word carvers and lace makers. You can sit in the chapel and see lovely wreaths that the docents make from the local flowers. Caramel apples and popcorn are free as is parking. The gift shop has some nice things and books about the adobe and old San Diego history. We love coming here to kick off our holiday season!

I didn't actually get to go into the facility or deal with any of the staff directly, except for one ranger who was simply sweet and very considerate. During the pandemic, I had my maternity photos taken and my friend and photographer called ahead to make sure it was ok that we walk the grounds. The photos were amazing, this place is absolutely beautiful and very well taken care of. I can't wait to return for baby pics and maybe considerate this spot for a future wedding!!! We're in love with this location and it's only 55 minutes from our home. The ranger was pulling up during one of the poses and literally stopped her cart for us to finish and not kick up dirt and then came to remind us before the parking lot closed at 5. I wish I caught her name. This was a Saturday at 4:30-5 pm and she was a pretty brunette so maybe management can thank her for treating people so kindly! Anyways, LOVED this beautiful venue. I didn't think I'd get photos of my first pregnancy during a pandemic but they happened and I'm so so appreciative.

This is a perfect wedding venue for someone who wants to do it all themselves. It is so inexpensive compared to anything else in the area (without looking cheap) plus includes the tables/chairs and set up. It is very laid back and you can do things other venues wouldn't allow like live music, your own caterer or food, no insurance or bartenders required. We used the chapel for the ceremony and the Victorian Garden for the reception and both were perfect for photos. There is a dance floor and there is plenty of shade everywhere except there. Every one of my guests complimented it saying how beautiful it was and they never knew it existed!

That said, it still feels like a gathering spot for many unhoused individuals. I understand public libraries are meant to be welcoming community spaces, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but it does make me a little hesitant to bring my kids here. Today was an exception because they completed the summer reading challenge and earned free fair tickets. The children's area is a huge positive. It's separated from the main library, feels safe, and the staff working there during our visit were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, because of its location, you'll still occasionally see people walking through from the main library. Parking is another challenge. No matter what time I've visited during the week, finding a spot has always been difficult. The front desk staff came across as less welcoming than I'd hoped, while the children's staff completely made up for it with their excellent customer service. I'm a strong supporter of public libraries and the resources they provide to the community. My rating reflects the value of those services rather than the behavior of other patrons or the customer service experience alone. Despite a few drawbacks, I'm grateful our community has access to a resource like this.

We were immediately greeted when we walked in. I came with my 3-year old and 9 year old. Kids under 12 (I believe) were free. And adults were $10 which made it affordable for all of us to go. The main exhibit, I was told, rotates yearly. In our visit we got to see the surf boards from the Hawaiian Islands. Lots of cool history and reading but the little one was super impatient. I skimmed what I could and continued throughout the exhibits. It was best to see surfboards from original wood to foam. They had a dedicated exhibit regarding the girl who lost her arm during a shark attack while surfing. Her story tells one of perseverance while being able to see the original shark bitten board. The kids probably thought this was most neat. They also had smaller exhibits discussing fins and a body board although it had a different name. I'm not a surfer but lived in Oceanside for a long time and still appreciated this exhibit. The entrance has a small gift shop and my girls left with stuffies and sandals. If you're in Oceanside whether visiting or local, it's worth a stop.

Owners, Kim & George, are very friendly and offer up a huge selection of white and red wines. Parking can be a challenge. If there are no spaces open at the top of the hill, you'll have to park along the side of a steep driveway. The one plus is that they do have a golf cart that will run people up and down the hill, but I don't know if that's always available. The tasting room is average size, but there is a spiral staircase that leads to a large upstairs patio (uncovered) with incredible views. You can certainly enjoy a glass or bottle up there and take in the amazing views...all the way to the ocean! WINES: The Beach House property is 4 acres total, with 2 acres planted with grapes. On our last visit, the tasting menu listed 14 wines (whites, rosé, and reds), and we even tried a couple that weren't on the menu. The wines are well made, and some that we've purchased in the past have laid down well in our cellar. I always state, individuals' palates can be very different than mine, but I'm pretty sure there will be a wine you'll enjoy. I recommend you visit and check them out for yourselves. I think you'll enjoy it. NOTE: They're only open on Saturdays/Sundays.

Such a thoughtful touch and much appreciated! I'm looking forward to coming back to try more wines, and to check out the pizza vendor they had on-site. It looked and smelt amazing! Great wine, stunning views, and a friendly atmosphere, what more could you ask for?
