Oversized sleeping bag for 2, wool blanket and USB lantern that charges my iPhone.

Love this place! Feels great to get REAL camping gear at lower prices! Got an awesome Swiss wool blanket for $25 and a large very cool great military bag for camping gear that was also $25. A sleeping bag, wool socks and a bunch of other great items. Be done done w cheap poorly made junk. I am! Thank you guys for existing!

If you're not sure what to expect at a military surplus store, then Rancho Army-Navy is a good introductory store. Most, if not all, surplus stores carry the following items: Camouflage gear Military uniform accessories Light camping equipment Canteens Ammo Cans Knives Boots What sets Rancho apart from most surplus stores is their attention to camping equipment. However, if you're a prepper, you won't find much here to augment your stockpile. They do carry portable water filtration systems, but the systems are basic. I didn't see any MRE's or other essential bug-out bag items. Don't get gassed...

Always immensely helpful. Especially for Temecula Valley Young Marines. They were generous with donations.

I like to go there, but they make me feel like I'm irritating them if I walk around and look, especially at the Scout stuff.

These guys are great. They've been in town a long time and they have a lot of cool stuff that you won't find at your regular big box stores.

Naturally, the guys at the counter were busy so I looked through the glass display to see if they have the echelon in stock. Sure enough, they have it. I then check their ammo selection so I can tell him exactly what I want. So I pull a number then hop in the ammo line. Shortly after, a lady comes up to the counter and waited a couple minutes. When she realized she needed to be in another line for ammo, she then goes behind me in line. Then when the clerk was ready to take the next person, he just assumes that the lady that was behind me was next or waited the longest. He says to her "you're next, I can help you". So I walked out. I'm not in the mood to try to advocate myself when I'm visibly next in line, and actively watched the lady walk up to the counter. There's other places such as Turner's and Ammo Bros wouldn't just assume and ignore someone standing in front of them. I understand the process itself takes a little bit of time, but skipping a person that's next in line is not what I'm willing to wait for, let alone be ignored. I'd rather go out of my way (Turners and Ammo Bros) if it means I at least get acknowledged that I'm there. Not coming back anytime soon.

I completed the Open Water Certification with Scuba Center Temecula. The entire experience was…read morespectacular. Starting with getting registered by Alex Milan (there are two Alexes). He explained everything clearly. After completing the online classes (which I learned later did a great job of teaching the basics although somewhat boring) which is a PADI requirement (don't blame Scuba Center Temecula), I went on my first dive using SCUBA gear. It was in a swimming pool, so not the most amazing thing, but getting to use the equipment and breathing underwater for the first time was an amazing experience. The pool training was long, but Alex Visselli (our dive instructor) made it fun and interesting. Most of the time, we were able to complete the "tasks" on the first try. When we did not get it perfect, Alex V gave us the sign for redo and we did it again. He would always show us how to do it again before we tried it the second time. He had a lot of patience. Although it was a long day, and only going to a depth of 8 feet, it was probably the greatest day of education I have ever had. The next week was at Lake Perris. We saw a couple of fish, but since the day was really more about training in calm open water, that was just a bonus. Once again, Alex V explained everything we were going to do before we went in the water. Then, in the water, we practiced all of the skills we would need for the open water ocean dive, and a lot of skills we will hopefully never need. Removing the weights and putting them back in was incredibly difficult for me, but I was able to do it much better in the lake. Finally, we took the boat to Avalon and walked over to the Casino Dive Park (the equipment was taken by taxi). We did a couple more skill exercises and then explored. At this point Alex V became more of a tour guide than an instructor, although we still had issues here and there which Alex V helped us with. After getting out and having the air cylinders refilled, we went back in the water for pure exploration. Alex V pointed out different fish. The highlight of the second dive was seeing a giant black sea bass. It truly lived up to its name. Alex V was an excellent instructor. He was patient and explained everything clearly, always asking if we had any additional questions. He made sure we had fun, while also making sure we had learned everything and could do it properly. His vast diving experience was a huge asset.
