Cool place! We went here to see Uriah Heep a few months ago..unfortunately we had to stand outside for a LONG time past the starting time -- but it was due to the band having technical issues, and running late. I think that some people were going in briefly to use the restroom, so that was cool. Speaking of the ladies' room...it was nice, clean, and plenty of stalls considering the small venue. I never had to wait in line. A big plus--ChuckAlek beer (a local Ramona favorite) is served here, at reasonable prices. Looking forward to going there again...just nothing on the calendar that interests me right now. Actually, Uriah Heep didn't interest me either but I'm a nice wife. :) read more

We went to Romana Mainstage for a performance today. I like the venue in general. But as a customer service industry veteran, I have to say I was appalled at their customer service. I payed over $15 per drink, would have been happy to do so if our bar tender would have been courteous. I'm gluten free, and ordered a Tito's and soda which I should have taken back, it wasn't Tito's ( I know my shit) and the soda water tasted like mold. My son who had been performing for three hours asked for some tap water and they said NO. I had spent over $100 on 5 drinks and some French fries and they said "THEY DO NOT PROVIDE WATER FOR FREE. " Hmmmm. Seems like a facility serving alcohol should provide TAP water for free!!! I'm checking into the legality of this. And reporting to the FDA. It's too bad. My son and his band had the opportunity to perform here on December 4th of 2016. Every seat in the house is a good seat with great visibility of the stage. Restrooms were very clean and there is a bar at the entrance. Five stars ! read more

All promo photos for this venue show multiple tables with seating (photos attached) and even though the promo for Queen Nation ticket info stated in small writing, "Limited seating for this performance,"... there were maybe 20 seats at most! No tables. We came 90 minutes early to get seats, but of course none were available. Doors opened 15 minutes late and then opening act (I won't comment on their performance, as music is subjective) didn't start for another hour, and then Queen Nation (Best cover band on the face the earth!) didn't come on until 9:15. Obviously the waits are so they can sell food and drink, but the lines and wait times for food and drink were approximately 30 minutes, as well. My friend stated she paid $30 for an extremely weak margarita, (which I'm hoping was a mistake, but I heard many other attendees around me moaning and groaning about prices of drinks, as well). Additionally, they brought her an incorrect entree, just shrugged their shoulders and walked away without ever addressing the error. Although I have always said I will travel anywhere to see Queen Nation, I will definitely have to pass on this place. I have seen this band at least 15 times at multiple venues throughout Southern California and they were all far superior to Ramona Main Stage. Ramona Mainstage is a smaller performing arts facility near San Diego. These mostly standing room, general admission theaters are becoming increasingly popular with acts that have niche followings and cannot fill larger venues. This specific facility was an old single-screen "Movie Palace" that first opened in 1947. The setting is intimate and you can get within a few feet of the performers if you choose to do so. People line up at the entrance and are admitted in sequence, first come, first served. As I understand the seating arrangements change from event to event. The place appears to hold about 500 people, and in our particular case there were only about 50 seats available. So be prepared to be standing up for the entire event. Comfortable shoes help! As the floor is not ramped, you could have problems seeing the performers if you have tall people standing in front of you. There is some reserved booth seating on the two sides of the theater but we thought that they were too expensive (depending on the concert, they could cost over 10x the general admission price) and opted to go GA. There is a full bar and a barbecue joint inside the venue, as well as The Main Course steakhouse next door (same ownership). We ate at The Main Course before the event and did not have a chance to sample the barbecue offerings inside the venue. The drink prices seemed reasonable and on par with similar venues. Free parking is available on the streets and there are also some parking facilities around. Overall we had a positive experience but hope that the management can improve the seating arrangement in the future. read more

This place is the biggest scam!!! Stay away!! My fiance and I went to this venue for the #MoonshineBandits concert and while we were there we had a few drinks at their bar. We were so excited since this was a show to replace the one due to Covid. Went to an amazing performance, closed out our tab for the night of about $120. My fiance part time bar tends, so she showed the bar tender some love with a nice $25 tip when we closed out her credit card. We retreated to our Air-b&b thinking we had a great time. All to find out the next morning when checking her online statement that she had been over charged $250!!!Look at the numbers this is not a coincidence!! We've tried to contact the venue numerous times via phone (which their mailbox is always full), via email (which they will not respond but they will quickly about purchase)! This is totally un American and unjust! I will be sitting outside every show to get her money back if needs be for reasons of principle!! Received free tix to see Tab Benoit, and Chase Walker Band., Good sound, but there some glitches with opening band. Once you arrive, it's super casual, and very small inside. Alcoho and junk food served at bar, but be prepared to wait in long line before show starts. The 3 act show started at 8:00. When we arrived at 7:20, it was standing room only. There are about 7-8 booths that can be reserved, so call way ahead if your plans take you here. There is only one hotel near this venue, and it booked up early. Take a thrash car, as the neighborhood we ended up parking in seemed to feel a bit scary without sidewalks or lights. Google maps took us through central Escondido, then through 12 miles of winding dark back roads. On the way back, we made a left at 17th, which was a direct route to the 15. read more

I loved the Venue, Sebastian Bach show. service at the bar was fast and easy, I paid $30 for Two 32 oz beers, so like more then 2 1/2 beers (if you are going by a12 oz can) what I would expect to pay at a venue. the venue is like 90% Standing only, that's fine for me. the only problem I had is there are signs that say no video, I pulled out my phone and started to record some songs because 99% of the people there where recording and security came up to me only and said no video, I said REALLY he said "yeah, you can get kicked out for that" another security guard came up to the one that told me something and said to him "dude I am not telling any more people to stop recording when everyone is doing it" LOL I was like RIGHT! I am pretty sure that is like a control issue from the owner that everyone talks about on the recent post I have been reading on here. but we had no other issues and had a great time. Finally Went to this venue last night for my first time. Nice clean place with great sound & good atmosphere. Saw Steve Poltz. He was great & very entertaining as usual. Before the show, The beer line was 25 mins long with one cashier. All of the beer taps were pouring heavy foam. The two people behind the counter were all stressed out and acting as if people wanting beer was really troubling them. I asked for a stone ripper & they gave me an arrogant bastard. Main Stage has tribute bands that we have enjoyed a couple of times and last night in particular. Doctor Wu! Liverpool front man Tony Egan and an amazing backup band with notable keyboard player & musical director, Mark Harrison ~ Keyboards / Sitar Sounds, Kurt Walter - Drums, garnd total of 11 musicians/singers with~ Roch Bordenave ~amazing radio voice & Trombones, Gil Ayan ~ Guitar player, Jeff Dellisanti ~ Alto, Tenor & Baritone Saxophones, Frank Villafranca ~ Tenor Saxophone We have enjoyed the music all 3 times we've been here but it's a process to get inside and settled. We arrived early to see Doctor Wu (Steely Dan tribute band) to park on the streets and in the neighborhood and because the small parking lot is shared with the restaurant. Understand that if you don't get in first then you don't get a drink or a seat. We were first in line but you can't go in until 7pm. We could see people already inside with priority access- if you have dinner at their restaurant next door, you get in first. Since we've been here before and know it's a small venue in an old movie theater that has been fixed up and is cool. Don't forget your earplugs! Too loud for my comfort but I concede that's what most people like. Also, try to eat AND drink before you get here. It's good to know the drill before going in because information dissemination is not this venue's strong suit. We've been here 3 times because we've gotten free tickets from friends. We likely wouldn't go if we had to pay. Use the bathroom early because it starts clean but they don't maintain it as the evening wears on and it gets nasty pretty quick. It's almost like every night is their first day of business. Never enough staff for; crowd management, the bar, the clean-up, information, or food runners. They should get volunteer ushers who will get to hear the show as payment! Plan to split up as soon as you enter because there are people already inside when they open the door around 7pm. Apparently, reserved booth or table seating is a random effort by management for different events too. Look for table signs so you don't have to pay or lose your spot after everything else is taken. I read some reviews that mention children at previous events yet, there's a sign in the box office that says 21 and older only. ? IDK 'bout that. Dedicate a person to order drinks at the bar on entering & another to go find an available seat. Best seats are center & up along the rail/bar for an elevated view of the stage. People will be standing and dancing in front of the stage. Typically there's just one bar tender that randomly waits on whoever catches her eye along the 40' bar. She was nice but no urgency to move the line along. She has to open wine bottles, pour drinks, and cashier for each customer. I ordered a merlot, pale ale, and dark draft beer and she started turning bottles to look at the wine label and decided she had to go to the back to get one. I said what red DO you have? Cab? That will do! as I looked at the line growing around the bar and she sauntered around like it was her first day as a server not sure what to do. As she was pouring the beer I knew that there's no table service & she also took the food orders so I ordered one item, a $30 sample platter. 1/4 chicken, a couple pork ribs, 3-4 slices of beef, and the menu says cornbread but that typically doesn't arrive, ever. That threw her off her game. She rang up 2 small beers and forgot the wine we had talked so much about. Wow! Focus! The bill was $62.35. You don't get an itemized bill but since I knew the the food was $30, the 3 drinks were somewhere about $10 each. Food is mediocre bbq and typically cold when it finally arrives about 45 minutes to hour later. *Tip- get a couple entrees' or sandwich for more food about the same price. My friend finished his beer and went back to the bar to get another. He decided to wait until the line got smaller or the show started. He asked a guy with a "security" shirt on standing nearby why there was only one bartender and why we couldn't get in before 7 when people were already inside to get a drink. He said that the restaurant next door (their's too) was "slammed" so they had to cover there. HUH? Also he said that if people come in early that he has to "deal with drunks" if people came in early. HUH? Isn't that how you make money? You can't get a glass of tap water but the bar tender will sell you a bottle of water for $8 or $10 i think. All in all, typical venue experience with whimsical oversight. We did have fun! It was a good crowd and many fans of the famous duo. The band seemed to get better as the night wore on. The lead singer announced he was from Liverpool and had just become an American citizen 3 days before. We cheered for that!! Too bad the ratings aren't in categories so I had to average it out to 3 stars. Standout point should be that it's an intimate venue in Ramona that has become very popular but just needs a little business mentoring...... read more

The artist that play here are fantastic. We always get a booth which is not cheap. The owner made my experience horrible this last time though and we will not be back. We bought a booth again and were told where to sit. Halfway through the show the owner came and kicked us out in a very rude manner. He said the girl had made a mistake and took us to the back. It looks like they remodeled and added more back booths. It was also seemed he had oversold the venue which is why he needed our spot. The chart on the site does not reflect that. Beware of his bait and switch tactics. I would have never paid to sit back there. Also check your credit card as they had charged us three times. I will be disputing this charge as well. read more

I have fam up in Ramona and I can remember way back in the day coming to this place when it was a 2-screen theater...all janky like. I am so stoked that they kept it an entertainment venue and it is pretty awesome inside. I love old-school inspired places...they have a bunch of black & whites of various stars lining the walls, the decor is classy and clean. Like people have said, its roomy. I went here on a Sat for a wedding reception and we had such a good time. I agree that the fact it is all the way up in BFRamona definitely takes it down a few notches but if you can get a few peeps together for a night out on the town and they have a decent act playing, it could be worth it. I will say this though, the prices are a buck or two higher than they should be...If/when I come back, I will definitely be packin my flasks. Thats right, more than one. Other than that, the guys running it seem to be decent enough and I think this place will do alright for itself. Definitely a positive addition to that lil town. read more

I think they say for too long before being delivered, it seemed like there weren't enough people working for the number of people there. New Castle, Fat Tire, hell yeah! $18 for a pitcher of New Castle at a music venue... very reasonable! Plus, the ladies working the bar are totally nice The showplace is great. Very roomy but not barren. Lots of seating for those who wanna drink and it's not overbaringly loud. You can still talk and watch the bands. Unfortunately, this review is not about the location or a performance since the show I wanted to go to was cancelled. I ignored the poor yelp reviews when buying the tickets because most dealt with a bad management experience and I didn't think I would have that issue since I just cared about seeing a show. However, given shows of theirs are cancelled on occasion and the management team may be involved in other issues, it's imperative for other customers to know how awful they will be treated. I was told I would get a refund for the show when it was cancelled. Nearly a month later, after multiple messages and emails that were not responded to (I don't live close so I couldn't stop by the business easily), I still don't have a refund. I called again today and spoke to the manager, Rachel. She proceeded to be rude, yell, and hang up on me because I wanted to get the $10 service fee refunded. She refused to provide the owners information. When I called back the phone hung up and then again went to voicemail. Rachel then called me back, said she would not apologize but has given me the total amount (service fee included) refunded. She then hung up on me again. Just be warned that this business is awful to work with if you do encounter issues and unfortunately, they don't take any customer complaint seriously, nor do they take the time to make things right. I have filed a complaint with the BBB since clearly these reviews mean nothing to any employee at this establishment. It's shameful to think they work in a small town, offer unique shows and have representatives like Rachel treating customers so poorly and, just as a general business, deny refunds and take money from those same customers that keep them in business. read more

Nice venue for a concert. Good views and if you get there early when they open you can get a seat to relax in for the show. Clean bathrooms and reasonable prices for drinks. The padded bench seat at the very back of the room is comfortable but the bass tends to really reverberate there and be over the top. For me it was a bit too much but otherwise good. read more

This is a great venue. Its kind of a drag to have to drive all the way out the Ramona to see a metal show, but the Mainstage makes it all worth while because a show here will usually be 5-6 incredible bands from all corners of the world. My favorite things about this venue are, good sound, good beer, and good people. There's lots of space, and there's a lot of tables and chairs too. The weird feeling of being at a restaurant to see a metal band will pass quickly, and besides Its cool that I have the option to sit with a friend, talk, and drink beer, instead of standing all night. I also like that I can walk to the front of the stage, and be real up close and personal with the musicians of my favorite band while they play. Its awesome when a singer stops in front of you and gives you a hi-5. Additionally I like that the bar is located at a quieter place and this allows for some interesting networking opportunities. The Mainstage also offers the opportunity to meet & greet the band members for a few extra dollars. This is cool, I like to bring my camera and convince bands to take pics with me. Usually the metal shows are supposed to be all ages, but if you are under 21, you need to bring a guardian with you, or else you are SOL. Overall the Ramona Mainstage is doing a great job of supporting metal, and delivering a quality venue where one can have tons of fun, listen to great music, drink Stone beer, and sometimes meet some interesting people. read more

Ramona MainStage is a cute venue. It is small - which means there really isn't a bad seat in the house. If you do pick a table, the seats have no cushion and your bum may get a little uncomfortable. They sell way overpriced wine ($10 a glass) and I think a coffee is $5. So it's kinda like a movie theatre in terms of concessions. I say, bring a big purse and smuggle in stuff if you want it. Haven't actually tried to do this though, so don't blame me if you get caught. lol read more

I went to this barbecue joint about 2 weeks ago and there was nobody there but one other table and it was fantastic service. The food was great and so was our waiter. I just went there tonight and had the worst experience of my life at a restaurant / bar. The owner I believe told us to get the fuck out after we tried to discuss with him how our service was inappropriate. I do believe this establishment could be great but with a different management that treat their customers with respect. I myself have my own business and I would never talk to my customers in that way . I felt very disrespected when the owner told me and my friends to get the fuck out of his establishment. So yes I do write this as a zero if possible will not be ever going back there which is super sad because I looked forward to salsa dancing and more bbq. read more
