We had lunch at Ramiro Cocina last week when we were in Merida for a few days, and I honestly loved it. It's a small, shaded patio restaurant (outdoor seating only, but what gorgeous patio it is)! The menu changes daily and is brought to your table on a chalkboard. They brought us a free starter of a vegetarian taco of cauliflower on a freshly made tortilla. I ordered their dish of two moles with molotes (a plantain dumpling or fritter served in the moles), which I really enjoyed. My husband ordered their quesabirria, which was perhaps the best version of that dish I've ever had, anywhere. We also had some mezcalitas, that they make with different aguas frescas (tamarind, guava, watermelon). It was one of the most delicious meals we had in Merida and Yucatan over our trip. And the gorgeous patio seating and great service didn't hurt! It's a block or two off Paseo de Montejo and opens at noon for the day - well worth a visit. It was a memorable meal! I'd love to repeat it! read more
