It's ten years since I first went to the Sixth Form College. It's a beautiful building which must…read morehave been a grand house when it was first built. It's surrounded by plenty of grassed areas for the extensive sports department. The college offers the full range of AS and A-levels as well as many GNVQs and also some other qualifications. When I was there, there was also an extensive programme of other learning opportunities. I learnt basic Dutch, did a first aid course, learnt about Japan and it's cultures, developed listening skills and many other things as part of this programme. There was always plenty of opportunities to go on field trips and holidays. The college has a very well stocked library with an extensive computer section for research. I think the only think that needed improving when I was there was the common room, which was small and inadequately furnished. Other than that it is a very good college (or was at least!)

The building is actually a beautiful old place, only one floor but very long which is what makes it look quite intimidating to a child. The main central entrance to the school is very grand looking and was only for visitors back when I was there now it is the main entrance for children. The building is a figure of 8 with two lovely grassed areas in the middle which we used to use for science experiments etc.. We were very lucky to have massive playing fields and plenty of hard surface areas to play, a lot of the towns schools are not so lucky. I loved my time at the school, the teachers were all lovely and there was plenty of school clubs for everyone to join. The big hall was brilliant for parties and school plays. I used to love going down in to the basement to the kiln room and craft area.

Stainsacre Hall, Stainsacre near Whitby…read more Nothing special but a good residential outdoor centre, situated south of Whitby, in the North Yorkshire moors. The propery belongs to Middlesborough County Council, and provides a lot of outdoor activities, starting with archery and ending with mountain biking. A modest estate with very much engaged staff, ideal centre to pass a educational stay in quiet peace. Go there and you will charmed too.

It was just a big house in the middle of nowhere. Spent the days doing maths, and the evenings are a blank. We must have eaten but I can't remember what. Had a day at teh beach I think. Tried fixing a lightbulb in the room of a girl a liked but nothing came of it.

This is a great little swimming pool. We've been several times on wet afternoons when we've been on…read moreholiday and it area and found that what this place lacks in size it more than makes up for in activity -- they have some brilliant floats which come out regularly during the school holidays. The changing facilities are good (why can't all swimming pools have decent-sized family changing cubicles?) and the prices quite reasonable. There will be bigger and more exciting swimming pools up and down the country I'm sure, but for what it is this particular swimming pool cannot be faulted. Our two kids (now aged 3 and 5) love it.

The Healing Touch is set in a gorgeous location with the most amazing views of the sea and is the perfect place to get away from it all! Found this place completely by acciendent one day on a trip to scarbrough, we noticed a sign for…read moretheir icecream palour so stop to get icecream. The craft centre itself is based on a victorian street and it really does feel like you have been transported back in time. The street noises playing out including church bells it was quite surreal at first. There are 16 different shops which sell a range of goods including jewellery and candles as well as a bakers. I bought some buns from the bakers and they were lovely and cost 75p each. Also there is an icecream palour and I have a yummy icecream which cost £2. Great place if your after something different to do and looking to buy more unique good rather than off the highstreet.
