So disappointed with this place :/ I was thinking because it had 4.3/4.5 stars I was going to enjoy this place and make it my go to since it's so close to home. Everything we ordered was not what I expected. I had a croissant with egg, cheese and bacon and it tasted old. The bacon was a bit too hard and the bread itself was falling apart.. like any old croissant would. We got my daughter a donut and for the most part, like any toddler wanted to just eat the sugar lol Two bites in and she said she didn't want it anymore. She kept saying "ewwww". I had a bite and can see why she meant to say it was "eww". The topping was not good at all.. had a weird taste and the bread was a bit stale. Feel like I cheated on my go to donut spot but didn't want to drive the extra 5 min since I was in a hurry to get somewhere. Never doing that again. I usually come here for a ham and cheese croissant and a glaze donut. The ham and cheese is not my favorite here. The ham is usually rolled up and centered so you get mostly croissant but I keep ordering it when I go back so there must be something about it I can't pass up. Their glazed donuts are delicious. Usually Krispy Kreme glazed are my favorite but the glazed here have a similar texture just a bit more dense. Much more satisfying than Krispy Kreme. The owner is so nice and polite. There was this place called crown doughnuts in la puente on Valley and Hacienda, they closed down and I have NEVER been able to find a chocolate doughnut like theirs since.. it's been soooo long!!!! I came here to rainbow doughnuts because it's kinda near my home, and there!!! I found the chocolate doughnut!!! It tastes exactly the same as I remember it I almost wanted to cry! I saw this place on the next door app advising to come here and support it. I did and I don't regret it!!! The owner was so nice as well! This has always been a go to spot of mine ever since I tried their donut holes and blueberry donuts. I come at least once a week before school to grab a quick bite and it hasn't let me down. The donut holes are best when they are fresh because they literally melt in your mouth. It is such a great and small local business that more people should recognize. Their service is so friendly and the workers are attentive. The environment of the place is welcoming since there's always elders and parents bringing their children for a donut or two! When I first walked in there was a poster near the entrance showing sympathy for one of their loyal customers who passed away and I thought that was very sweet and thoughtful. This is the definition of a sleeper donut shop. I honestly don't know how this place was so good. The interior leaves a lot to be desired, but man do they hit you with some solid donuts. I'm sure you've heard of donut man, or the donut hole, and those places are good don't get me wrong, but rainbow donuts always has fluffy soft donuts. Same selection as before; so we picked up a dozen of what we had last time and added a dozen of donut holes. We tried to ask a couple of questions to the man behind the counter, but I'm not sure if he understood. My brother was curious at the pricing of a dozen donut holes on our last visit since it wasn't posted anywhere visible, so he asked but didn't plan to order them on this visit. He then told the man he wanted a dozen of the regular sized donuts (not the donut holes) but the guy began packing up the donut holes. My brother just added it to our order since the man already grabbed the dozen. We chose our regular dozen, and I distinctly asked if one of the chocolate frosted ones were filled with custard; i was told they were crème filled. Well, they turn out to be custard when someone took a bite out of them. After everything, we were charged extra for using a debit card. I think the donuts are okay-decent. I ordered half a dozen and wished it got placed in a small box instead of a just a paper bag.. my donuts were smashed inside together so I asked for an extra bag. The woman (she might be the owner) that helped me seemed nice at first but when I asked for that second bag she did not seem happy and literally threw the bag really fast under the glass window and walked away without saying anything. I paid $11.50 ($1 charge for just using my credit card..), I think another thin paper bag would have been fine without the attitude.
