Osage National Golf Resort - Dave the "Golf Nazi" who is mad at the world because he failed at making it to the Pros (I'm guessing).

Very disappointed in the way that this was handled. I would suggest cancelling the tee times that were affected by the weather instead of bumping the ones that were later. No comments on the course but the etiquette of the person that I spoke to was not ideal.

Between these 2 course Nazis we were rushed the whole time by the GPS on the carts, the ranger, and by Tom and Dave the whole time we golfed. We went aloud to have a 5-some so they split us up and paired 2 of our guys with 2 guys that work at the course. We got our carts locked up by their GPS system multiple times and once one of our carts was locked solid for over 10 minutes. Thank goodness some local members came along and called the office and got us unlocked so we could continue playing. Mind you, this got locked up on a cart path. We offered to let the locals play through and they wouldn't. They said they weren't in a hurry and to take our time as it was our first time here. The cart GPS kept telling us to pick up our pace. One of our guys was so mad about being paired up with the course workers he wanted to leave at the end of 9 holes so the other guy wanted to join us at the turn to make us a 4-some. So at the turn we came to the clubhouse and talked to the cart guys and told them what was going on and asked if it would be a problem if we waited. They said no problem, go inside and grab a beverage and a bite to eat and they would get us going after they joined us and make the back 9 a better experience. We went in and grabbed a bite, which was a very overpriced dried out burger and a Powerade (no alcohol was consumed by our group the whole day BTW). As I was eating my dried out burger Nazi Dave came over and told us we needed to get back out there. I explained we were waiting to pick up our 4th guy and he still barked that we needed to get moving. Meanwhile the locals that were behind us came into the clubhouse and were offered a menu by the staff to order from. We go outside and as our guys come up the hill. Before we could even see what was going on Tom comes out on the deck and starts telling us to either get back out there or leave. He had 3 holes with no one on them so if we were going we needed to go now. I tried to explain what was going on and he said he didn't care he had 3 holes that needed to be filled. We proceeded as a 3-some to the next hole and our other 2 decided to continue to play with the course workers as well. We then started playing a best ball format to help speed up our play. We were playing at a fast clip and yet the cart GPS kept telling us we were behind and needed to pick up the pace. On one of the back holes a ranger came by and said "hey, Dave called him and said you are doing a good job with your pace" and yet our cart keeps telling us we were 11 minutes behind pace. Now, here's some fun info, while we are playing we saw 2 5-somes and even a 6-some playing the course! There was also no one behind us for several holes and no one ahead of us either. We kept up our best ball pace and on the 8th hole we finally came up on a 4-some. We had to wait on them to finish their hole only to find out it was our other 2 guys and the course workers that somehow got ahead of us and we caught them. We finished our round and went back to the clubhouse to find our guys had 2 more holes to play still. I went into the clubhouse to the pro shop and waited until no one else was in there to talk to Dave about our experience. I informed him that they have a great course, the cart guys, ranger and bar staff were friendly but because of him and Tom we would never be back to play this course! The two of them made this a miserable experience! There were so many ways this could have been handled and still made it a fun day but they choose to be dicks the whole time. I guess they are just sour on life because they didn't have what it takes to be a professional golfer on tour and they have to take it out on the rest of us and show everyone that they are the big shots around there. Well, Tom and Dave, I will never be back and I'll make it my mission to let everyone I come in contact with know about you and how you treat people. FYI I was sent a comment from someone from the course (Name not given) saying that they were sorry for our experience but their GPS system was not working properly when we were there and that they never allow groups of 5 to play and they monitor the carts to keep the pace of play going. Now obviously they didn't read my review where we saw 2 groups of 5 and a group of 6 playing on the course at different holes throughout the day. Plus the only time we even had anyone close to us is when one of our carts got locked up from their GPS system and a group of local memebers ended up calling the clubhouse to get it unlocked. We then offered to let them play through and they declined! So how can that be our fault when they will not play through? If they knew their GPS system was having issues maybe you should cut people some slack instead of constantly sending messgage to the screen on our carts!!!

Just the whole vibe of the place including the stuffy air inside just kind of put me off from the moment we stepped into the lobby. On the outside it appeared decent at most. The location is really what sold us since it's right next to the lake. The price of the rooms couldn't be beat but after arriving we could clearly see why. The hours for their restaurants and shops were weird. Everything was open for only a specific time. They had one restaurant that was basically only open for breakfast/brunch but closed around 3pm. Then their steak restaurant was open for dinner only. We had originally planned on trying the steak restaurant but after reading the reviews of the subpar food and service we decided to try somewhere else off of the hotel grounds. We arrived early and tried checking in but they're advised us that our rooms were not ready yet and they took down our names to give us a call when they were ready. We didn't mind that, we ended up walking around the hotel to see the resort. Honestly everything was just so outdated and it felt like a complete ghost town. The hotel is huge, I know they have way too many rooms that aren't being occupied. The resort feels like it was popular about two decades ago but now it's just sad. When we finally got to our rooms it was exactly what I expected at that point. Yes, it was larger than any other standard hotel room but that's really where the positives ended. I was honestly scared to walk on the carpet, it felt so old. Everything about the room screamed 70's. It's like they hadn't updated anything since the hotel originally opened. The bathroom was a bit questionable for cleanliness too. But our view from the room was nice! We had a partial view of the lake. The patio furniture consisted of two dirty plastic chairs. The way they have the patios set up is a bit suspicious too. The bars to the rooms next door are very wide so almost anyone can just walk onto your patio. I didn't like that aspect because of safety issues. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in Lake Ozark then The Lodge of Four Seasons is it! Just be expected to be transported to the 70's and stay there until you check out.
