I had the two-course dinner, with a fresh carrot ginger soup and local Staffordshire rump of lamb with parsnip and plum. It was flawlessly prepared and delicious. The wine list is strong. I also had an after dinner drink at the bar and had a truly lovely conversation with a young bartender named Marek. Hoar Cross appears to attract a lot of folks for "girls spa getaways," with lots of women clearly revelling in their enjoyable mini vacations. The mood is light and joyful. Sadly, I did not realize that spa access was part of my package, and was unprepared with swimwear, so I cannot speak of the spa amenities. I'd return here in a heartbeat.

Having had Vibro suite recommended to me by a friend I decided to check out the spa and am very glad I did. They have a fantastic range of treatments and are able to accommodate you if you want a 30 minute lunch time treat or like me an entire afternoon of relaxation. In an attempt to relax I opted for a "Deep Tissue Massage" and a "Bespoke You Facial" both were 1 hour treatments. The welcome was fantastic and I immediately felt at ease and was offered a range of drinks, the initial massage was carried out very well and actually did work to release some of the tension I felt. This was followed by a 10 minute break where I was allowed to sit relax and offered another drink. The Facial consisted of a 15 minute consultation asking about my skin type and normal routine. This was followed by a full 1 hour facial which I think was done very well. Unlike many other spas I wasn't pressured into buying any products or booking a follow up, the staff were fantastic and both treatments were great value for money. I would definitely recommend Vibro Suite.

The rest of the day I spent in the spa area, the pool was a good size, not really big enough for an exercise type swim, but fine for a relaxing one. The jacuzzi, steam room and sauna where all great, and the loungers round the pool were comfy. Before my massage I spent some time on the heated 'sunbeds' in the treatment area, they're very nice! They'll get your muscles nice and relaxed before your massage! I had the bamboo massage which was great. The therapist didn't check with me before hand so I almost ended up having a Swedish. The massage was great, nice and firm, and really relaxing. Therapist was always checking I was ok with the pressure which was good. Had an awesome day, will definitely be back.

The staff are really friendly which is just lovely and makes the atmosphere really personable. I have to say the icing on the cake of this hotel was the breakfast! It left a lot to be desired in terms of cooked English but the continental spread was just amazing. I really enjoyed it. The only downer for me was that being in the City Centre it was quite loud. Would definately stay again though :)
