The company came out quickly to repair a faulty fan under warranty, but the fan that they used to replace my old one with ended up being faulty itself right away. It was extremely loud, so we called the company back and they came back out. They basically told us that this is how it is. This made no sense since our old fan was very quiet. After a few weeks I called again requesting that they just replace it because we couldn't handle the noise and were actually turning the system off at night because it was keeping us up. I called maybe 3-4 times and left messages over a few weeks and never heard back, so I ended up calling another local company who told me the fan had a known issue and is not supposed to be that loud. He replaced it right away but I had to pay another service fee. This whole ordeal cost me $400 in service fees for something that is under warranty. read more

I'd hire them again. Our home has a radon pipe from basement to roof, but it didn't have a fan. Our radon test result came back over the 4 pCi/L limit. I hired Radon Diagnostic Services to install a radon fan in my attic. Fred responded promptly. The fan was installed within about a week. Pricing was reasonable. On retest, our radon level is less than 0.4 pCi/L. Things didn't go 100% smoothly, so I also got to experience their excellent customer support. It was pouring the day they installed the fan. After installation, I discovered a slow leak. I emailed Fred a video of the issue, and he sent someone back the same day to fix it. This company stands by their work. I highly recommend them. read more

Great experience from start to finish. Fred came out promptly to review our basement and give a quote. His price was very fair. All questions were answered. Fred may not always answer his phone during the day (because he is with other clients), but is quick to respond to emails and texts, so no problem with communication. We were able to set an appointment for installation 10 days after getting the bid. The install team, Rob and Ryan, were fantastic -- professional, knowledgeable, precise, and also just two really nice trustworthy guys. They worked efficiently without rushing and cutting any corners. I would definitely hire them again! read more

Great experience. Returned my call within a day, scheduled the appointment within a week and arrived on-time. The repair was complicated due to the age of the system, but came prepared for just about any scenario and got it knocked out. The repair was thoughtful, using proper materials for the outdoor location of the fan and switch. Pricing was reasonable. read more

At first I thought these guys were great. We had a radon problem and they came out, gave us an estimate and told us it wouldn't be a big deal. They came again a month later to "fix" the problem. Unfortunately when we retested for radon, the levels came back even higher. We sent the follow up report to Fred by email on 6/22/2016. No response. We called them the next day and left a message. And for the past few weeks we have been calling every other day. Sometimes we leave messages, sometimes we get a busy signal, we've even tried contacting them from their website. Nothing. A quick google search shows a similar review on BBB. I don't understand how a company like this can stay in business. No one ever answers their phones and they don't return calls. Find someone else. Anyone but these guys. **Update** Finally got a call back. Suspiciously right after I posted this review... he wasn't very apologetic though and didn't seem like it was a big deal he hadn't been answering the phone or returning calls. I'll be looking for a new company to finish this work. read more

We bought a house in 2011 in which Radon Diagnostic had just installed a radon mitigation system. In 2018 we noticed that the system was silent so we called Radon Diagnostic and left a message for Fred. Fred returned our call timely and scheduled a visit. He arrived at the appointed time and said that the problem was simply that the system switch had been turned off (probably by people working on the outside of our house). He flipped the switch on and said that's all it needed and didn't charge us for the visit because it required so little. read more

I'm quite surprised by these reviews, and also surprised that I didn't see them sooner. I've had a very different experience working with Fred and Jeff than the others mentioned here. They've worked on two different properties I've owned, and were reliable and communicative. I came across them having a failed radon pump in my first home - I got their contact info as it was attached to the existing system they installed. I called them for service, they were straightforward in terms of explaining what had happened, shared their price for fixing the issue, and performed the install right away. Fred also recommended some additional work to make the system more durable (replacing exhaust hangers for reduced noise/rattling), without pressuring me into an upsell. I agreed and was happy with the result. In our new home, I discovered in a home inspection that our pump was also not functioning here. Jeff came out to take a look, and discovered that the system was actually powered off! He powered it back on, removed some debris causing noise in the fan, and everything was good to go. Given how simple the fix was, Jeff even waived the fee of a service call, which was very generous of him. In any case, all my experiences with Radon Diagnostic have been good, and they'll be the first firm I contact if I ever experience issues again. read more

Unreliable, No integrity Something seems odd with this company. If your house has radon and want to get it fixed, don't waist your time, find yourself a reputable contractor. I saw Catlin's review here but I dismissed it, and here is My similar experience with Fred: Fred spent over 40 min in my house, we agreed on a price, promised to send me the quote next day. 3 weeks later nothing was sent; texted him, no answer. 3 weeks lated I called Radon Diagnostic number, and Fred answered, he didn't remember the address, but agreed to come to visit my house again. We spent another 40 min, and I agreed to hire him in spite of the fact that he provided a totally different analysis and proposal than his previous one. Fred , then, told me that he will send me a quote next day. a week later, NOTHING. (if this company can't provide a simple 1 page quote to get the gig, how do you think they will handle the work itself !! ) read more
