The stay was decent. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was also clean. There were a few movie channels to watch in the evening and we had no problem getting food delivered to the hotel. The hotel also offered snacks and drinks in the lobby. While the stay was great, there were a few cons. The hotel had a smell to it. I can't entirely explain what that smell was, maybe a musty smell? Our neighbors were loud, but they were enjoying their bachelorette party, so no big deal. The restaurant on sight was closed and there was no breakfast offered. They also charged a $50 per night extra charge which took six days to go back to my card. Overall, I would come back again if it weren't for the $50 extra per night charge. read more

We checked into our hotel room 5/15/26- tried to take a shower no hot water the tub wasn't draining . Informed the front desk of my issue . They said my husband to would have to call and let them know and it was ok to move me and my family to another room , since he made the reservation. I fell asleep tired went down to the desk again after my husband called they said they cannot move us because my husband was being rude on the phone and she was not having him talk to her like that . He called again and she answered and then hung up saying he was being rude again . I informed her he doesn't need to be rude , he is just trying to get his family into a new room. She then proceeded to tell me we're grown woman band she can't help me , because her manager said we can't help anyone who is being rude . I then asked so we can't get another room . She said no , I said with no hot water and a tub not draining . She kept saying she just works there and she's. Not the boss .She said no , I walked away . She obviously brought her problems to work with her and was frustrated about something . As a manger in Customer Service you help the customer until they're happy , and you always error on the side of the customer , never again will we stay here . It took four room changes to find one that was finally clean. This is the first hotel I've ever wanted to just walk out of I was on a time crunch though, and I had an event to go to, the elevator was dirty. Took three dirty rooms. Finally, the fourth room was actually clean and acceptable never ever in my life. Have I been to a dirty hotel multiple floors every single room we went into it's shocking. Stay away, the first room I was in they sent somebody to come change the sheets. They didn't know how to change the sheets. They were asking me questions. We're staying two nights. At first glance: dents and broken buttons in elevators that run slower than molasses. Carpets are dirty, holes patched in walls, doors need repainted. Crevices along the walls need cleaned. Light fixtures with bugs. Poor lighting/ broken in pool area. Dirty overflow valley in pool. Employees outside smoking weed on breaks, makes entrances smell. I just stayed here with a friend for 4 nights. The staff are great, super nice and helpful. Even housekeeping was really friendly. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The view from the cafe is beautiful (the view from our room was the parking lot). However, this hotel is not worth $150/ night. There are two elevators, one was out of service the entire time we were there, and the other broke down twice during our stay. We had to walk up and down 7 flights of stairs! Lots of little things that just made the hotel look bad, like tape and sharpie in the elevator and dirty floors, walls, and doors. Our room door wouldn't shut at all unless we swiped our card, which was a pain when leaving. I heard other doors on our floor slamming repeatedly, so I assume they had the same problem. The WiFi was super spotty and would be unavailable randomly. The clocks in the room all had a different time on them (this was easy to fix ourselves, but I expect better). The towels were super scratchy and low quality. We did the breakfast buffet once around 10:30 (it's open until 11am). Everything was very dry and looked like it had been out for hours. I assume if you go earlier it's good, but I think if people are still coming to eat, we should still get fresh food since it's open until 11am. I got the waffle that I could make myself which was good, but my friend is celiac and had to get the eggs, which were super gross. We had a really fun time, went around Grand Rapids, pretty good location. But. The showerhead and the faucet only work at the same time, room 619. There is a bag over the smoke detector in the room. Overall, we had a great time and the hotel felt like a nice safe stay. read more

I've stayed in this hotel twice. The first time was more than 10 years ago for one night. I don't recall much from that stay, other than I don't have any negative memories. My most recent stay just this past weekend. Things got off to a bad start when I arrived. I arrived just past midnight local time after about a three hour drive. The front door was locked, as would be expected. However, no one was at the front desk and no was responding to the intercom. Next, I tried calling the hotel's direct phone number, but no one answered. At this point, it's been about twenty minutes. I then called the general customer service line who also attempted to contact the hotel's front desk. After another five to ten minutes, the front desk clerk finally showed up to let me. She claimed she was in the bathroom and that my call to hotel should have been forwarded to her cell phone, but, for some reason, was not. However, in the meantime I was still on the phone with the national customer service, and she told them she did answer her phone and we didn't respond. I didn't appreciate being told a different story. Other negatives include an overwhelming smell of Indian food in the first floor hallway. There is an Indian restaurant in the hotel, but I don't understand how the smells got to to other side of the first floor. Also, one evening, I was working out in the fitness room (by the pool), and at around 11:00 pm a maintenance man shut off the lights to pool and fitness room without saying anything to me or warning me even though I was in his plain sight. Other negatives included water dripping from the ceiling of the first floor hallway, and pealing on the outside of my shower/tub. There were some positives. First, the size of room was adequate and it was clean. I had enough space at the provide desk to do my work. Second, it had decent amenities. There is the aforementioned pool and fitness room (actually three small rooms). The fitness room I had sufficient equipment and space for my needs. Third, the room was stocked with basic extras you would expect . There was coffee/tea and the typical toiletries. Fifth, their was a nice sized TV, but the reception was spotty and the beds were comfortable. Sixth, they offered room service on demand, which is more than most hotels do today. I feel that the location was a push. It's right if the highway, so it's at least its easy to find and get to, but it's far from downtown Grand Rapids and the surrounding area lacks restaurants and amenities. It's a warehouse and industrial area. In sum, my stay here wasn't awful, but there seems to be better hotels in Grand Rapids. read more

Booked my room through Hotels.com and stayed here from a Thursday-Saturday in mid-July. From the outside, the hotel looks dated and you can tell it has gone through ownership/affiliation changes. We were later told it was once a Choice hotel, a Holiday Inn and others. There was construction equipment out front and workers were working and I assumed it was part of the updating. There really is no neighborhood to speak off and it is located right off the interstate with convenient routes to all parts of town. We walked into the lobby which appears remodeled and updated. Attached is a pool, conference center and Indian restaurant/lounge which is not part of the hotel. Check-in process was easy. Hotel is being remodeled slowly and only one elevator was available for use. Our room faced the river which was a good choice I made at booking. If you do not request/select a river view, you get the highway all night. Our room was large and had a King bed, sofa w/ bed, mini-fridge, safe and microwave. There were no dressers but hangers are provided so we made it work. The bathroom is large and the vanity is in the bathroom so if someone is showering you have to wait unless you want a fogged mirror. The bathroom was clean, however, the shower itself has cracking paint and needs updated. If you want breakfast, it is available for a separate fee at the Indian restaurant that does have American breakfast. We grabbed a beer at the lounge that cost $6. We sat outside in the very large deck/patio. There are multiple gas fire pits but we could not get any of them to work. We did not go into the pool, however, multiple people were using it. Overall, our experience was not great but it was not necessarily bad. We paid about $200/night in what is probably a $130-150/night hotel. The location was convenient for what we wanted to do. Maybe if they get a full update done it may be worth $200+/night. Would I stay there again? If there were no other options closer to downtown for the same price?-maybe. I would not go out of my way to stay here but it was convenient and we were not in the hotel very often. On a different note- the hotel is officially non-smoking but our hallway, and a good portion of the city, always smelled like pot smoke. Michigan is cannabis friendly and it is easy to tell that. Just be aware of that if it is something that will bother you. read more

The lobby was nice and front desk workers were nice. It was a little unsettling to walk in and see a homeless man and his dog just chilling in the lobby. I asked the attendant if that was normal and allowed and she said Yes, he's just a nice homeless man who comes in to get a coffee and get out of the elements for a bit. The location of the building is a little sketchy, but the proximity to everything is great. We were in town for a volleyball tournament at GVSU and the state track meet in Rockford. 15ish minutes from both. Now for the hotel... PROS: decent lobby, friendly staff, nice room, quiet walls (didn't hear anyone other than those in the hallway), free parking. CONS: the hallway is scary (dark, low ceiling, super dated), our shower wouldn't drain properly so we showered in inches of water, there was a random light that would flash during the night that lit up the whole room. OVERALL: would I stay here again? Yeah. It's convenient and the beds are ok. Would I be excited about it? Absolutely not. read more

The initial room I was booked in had a lot of hair in the bed and the table next to the bed hadn't been cleaned. The room that they moved me to had a pair of fake eyelashes stuck to the bathroom door frame and there was MOLD in the refrigerator!! I have reached out to the general manager, Suresh Patel, and never heard back from him. DO NOT STAY HERE! I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!! (If I could give them a zero I would.) This hotel was recommended to me because it was close to my friend's wedding view so I booked it. Big mistake. I arrived at the hotel to find a decent looking lobby and a friendly member of the staff (that is where the positives end). I checked in and was given my hotel key. Arriving in my room I noticed an automatic smell of mold and smoke. Worried about my bridesmaid's dress smelling of this I decided to go and ask if I could change rooms. When I went downstairs the women at the front desk seemed surprised by my issue, but was gracious and switched me to another room immediately. Once again I went up stairs and what I saw completely terrified me and made me question the cleanliness of this hotel beyond my prior issues. Upon entering I automatically noticed stains on the wall. Once I turned on the lights I noticed that it seemed to be blood or some other red stained fluid. I then noticed another strain on the opposite walk that looked similar. I decided I should check the bed. I found numerous stains. These were all obviously (see photos below- not the best I admit,but I was freaked out). After seeing all of this, I decided that I couldn't stay here and would find another hotel and wanted a refund. I went downstairs to ask the women if this was a possibility. She informed me no because I had booked with Priceline. I reached out to Priceline and it was clear from my conversation that in fact the company, the Radisson, or the general manager in this case could actually grant me a refund. They were unwilling to do so, but I was able to negotiate with them to pay for the night and get refunded for the remainder of my nights after I said I had pictures and ensured the girl at the front desk included specific details to her GM. This is the worst experience I have had in a hotel and I do not plan to ever go back to a Radisson Hotel. I have never had to ask for another room or seen a room as bad as this especially when I paid $130 a night. Despite this bad situation I ended up at a decent hotel in GR. So we all know covid has changed everything, but some things, like customer service & cleanliness should still be in place. 1.) Waited 10 minutes in the lobby to check in but no one was at the front desk. "Hello. Hello" No answer, so I had to go outside and call into the office to get a clerk to come to the front desk and check me in. 2.) I was informed "masks will be worn at ALL times" yet a fellow guest walked by without a mask, the desk clerked looked right at him but said nothing to him. I guess that rule only applies to me. 3.) As we walked down the hallway to our room, garbage cans were overflowing and used tissues were on the floor. 4.) Room smelled "funky" like someone had been burning a candle. 5.) At check out I looked at my receipt and the there was an additional $25 dollar charge on the bill. I asked, "what's that?" We charge a $25 damage fee until we have a chance to clean your room and make sure you didn't tear anything up." I have NEVER had a hotel do that. The kicker being, they wouldn't have said a word about the "add on" if I hadn't questioned it. Serious? It looks cool on the outside and the river view was nice. With that said, I'm just going to dive right in. Our entire bathroom reeked of vomit. It was absolutely disgusting! The floor of the bathroom was nasty, like there was a film over it. I felt like I was stepping in someone's puke that got cleaned up with a cheap paper towel. I made sure to lay a bath towel down. We requested clean towels each day so what's the problem? Oh, the problem was they didn't do it. Speaking of bath towels, my spouse was getting in the shower the first day and the complimentary toiletries were used. We requested new ones and they brought up an entire bag full.... Okay? Thanks. Also, everything was sticky. The walls, the windowsill, the elevator door.... Everything. I don't even want to know. Blahhhhhh. The breakfast was SICK!!!!!! There is absolutely no reason to pay any money for this slop. We paid $14 per person for watery powdered eggs, rubber sausage patties, and a mediocre cereal buffet. It would be fine if it were a free complimentary breakfast, but $14????? A complete waste! Even the coffee in the room was annoying. One regular coffee??? Come on. I'm lucky I'm the only coffee drinker in my family. The Starbucks downstairs is a bonus, I guess. I am honestly really disappointed. When we arrived, it looked like such a cool place and the Indian restaurant smelled divine! However, we were too scared to spend the money to eat there... The beds are comfortable and the staff was so nice, but the overall cleanliness and the amount of money they charge is ridiculous. I've never been treated so poorly. I clearly went in to purchase a room for a friend coming in town . I want to pay for room and Tax... and have my friend handle incidentals, common in my Line of work . The lady has trouble running the card for $113 dollars , come to find out she has gone outside if what I asked , and was attempting to run my card for $160 , nine different times , then asks me do you have sufficient funds. 1. That is not your business to ask , it's not declining as I proceed to show her I have $3000 in my account .... I ask for a manager since this lady had no idea what she was doing.... Place was a DUMP!!! Pictures online are deceiving. The first room we were placed in had blood on the sheets. They gave us a new room and the place looked like it hadn't been clean in months. There was dried urine all over the toilet as well as cigarette ashes all over the place. There were markings of food all over the bathroom door. The blinds were broken. There was a huge stain down the side of the couch. Their was was dripping all over the bathroom from the ceiling. The tub didn't drain when you showered. Stayed there with my boyfriend for the last night he was in town from out of state, and my almost two year old. Lobby smells like ramen noodle flavor packets which was whatever, figured an employee made themselves dinner. Everything seemed okay until about midnight, we were relaxing in bed and a very large bed bug scurried across the blanket right in front of us. We woke up my toddler from a very comfy deep sleep, put the live bug in a clear bag and brought it to the front desk. They offered a room switch after telling us they were already dealing with past reviews about bugs and cleanliness. I had to request a room on a different floor. We then asked if there was a way to wash all of our belongings as we have already been in the room for about 6 hours and our belongings were out in the open. The employee brought us to the guest laundry which was coin operated. My boyfriend told her that it is absolutely ridiculous that we have to pay to wash the clothes to make sure THEY didn't give us bedbugs. I work with small children and I have a toddler, I cannot bring home bugs. Once we were in our new room, we noticed how filthy it was. Crushed food smushed into the carpet, surfaces did not look wiped either. My toddler found pieces of old crackers which he managed to sneak a bite of as we were looking for bugs. We immediately ripped off all of the sheets and covers and went down to the bare mattress, which was cleaner than every sheet and cover we took off. We decided we will be using the bare bones of the bed after we meticulously inspected every inch of the beds and entire room. It took us almost 2 hours. We started laundry- which we did end up having to pay for ourselves- which we didn't finish until 5am. We also pushed the fabric furniture out into the hallway because we were unable to inspect them for bugs. They didn't offer us any freshly washed bedding when they knew we stripped the beds. My toddler used sweaters and a hoodie on an uncovered hotel mattress to get his one hour of sleep before we had to leave for the train station. Upon check out, we of course asked for a full refund which was refused. The employee then told me in the time he's worked there he's never experienced this- which must be untrue as the employee hours before told me they were dealing with other bed bug reviews from previous guests. It's now 3pm and we have not received even our $50 deposit back. I have stayed in $30 hotel rooms in the past and have never experienced something this vile. In my opinion, a full refund after bringing you a live bed bug sealed in a bag from your establishment should be automatic and should NOT be a debate. The staff should have offered their washer and dryer to wash my toddlers items to ensure we do not bring their problem with uncleanliness home. If we find any in our home, they will be receiving a bill. Sadly we did not snap a photo of the bug as we immediately caught it, got my baby out of that bed and brought it to their attention. The employee at the desk however did record a video of the bug to show her manager. An apology is NOT enough. This was an awful way to spend the last night with my boyfriend who lives 6 hours away. read more

The walls in the bathroom were rotted out, ceiling above shower was peeling off, broken shower curtain rod , bloody boogers on the bedroom wall, something sticky all over the dresser. Never had the greatest stays but put up with it to stay in Grand Rapids but after this last time I am done with the property, Radisson and the city of Grand Rapids. $170 for this room is an absolute jack move and then they say I smoked in the room after the fact when I NEVER SMOKED IN THAT ROOM. Trying to charge me $150. Then called me a liar when I flat out said I never smoked in there. Funny how they never called me, just tried to change my card. I'll be disputing all charges. First thing I noticed when I walked in the door, was the damp smell of mildew. I waited about 10 full minutes, while the only clerk on duty checked in two guests that were ahead of me. Lots of forms and paperwork and they add a $50 charge to your card, even though there is no housekeeping provided during covid. Was staying for two nights with my son, who is 13 and has mild asthma. He noted a strange odor in the hallway, and the elevator had a stale smell, but we held out hope for the room... but it also had a musty odor. We did not stay. This hotel does not feel clean and fresh. Not recommend if you have sensitive sinuses or allergies! I left with a headache, after spending less than 50 minutes waiting in the lobby. read more

Do not stay at this hotel. We were in line behind someone who needed batteries for their remote. The man said that it could wait until after he helped us, the only other people in the lobby. Trevor, the only staff member on duty, said no it's fine, and took ten minutes to go look for the batteries. Most customers weren't wearing masks and the rooms were gross. I booked this place since I was out on business and I was brought here. From the moment I walked in I assumed I walked into the perfect hotel and maybe I thought there was maybe a casino in it too. Positives: The lobby is very clean and the staff is above all friendly. The woman who waitresses at the restaurant at the hotel is one of the nicest and friendliest employees I've ever met. The rooms look very modern and attractive, especially with such a great view out the window. The bartender lady is also really sweet and helped us find us food in the area. The place offered a free shuttle but we didn't use it. They have a really big pool with a hot tub on top of that,fitness rooms! Negative: The biggest thing that was a negative was that when I was swimming and trying to get out of the pool, the step to the ladder was broken and I almost sliced my foot open. You go to swim to the other ladder, it's very unstable.At both the bar and restaurant, the menu options are really small.In our hotel room, there was a few issues: 1) The TV picture quality was awful.Plus the remote didn't respond well. 2) There was this disgusting horrible stain on the box spring that I noticed.3)The shower head is low, i'm not a tall guy but my head kept hitting the shower head, if you are over 6'5" , you might literally need to squat a bit to get your hair wet. 4) The heater keeps sparking after a while and if I didn't turn it off, I think I might of caused a fire. Overall, decent places, still has it's positives and negatives. She called my room on check out day and said she would be calling the police if i did not leave in 5 mins. I got another call that was more aggressive and I was made to feel like a criminal. My friend who was staying in a separate room had a diabetic emergency in the early hours of the morning and needed to purchase a snack from the snack bar and was DENIED because it was before the "snack bar opened" He was then told to go to CVS to get a snack. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable. The hotel put my friends life on the line over this absurd rule of "snack bar hours" I left the hotel feeling like I had committed a serious crime. Upon arriving to my room I noticed the AC did not work. I called the front desk to report it was not working and that I would like another room. I was informed by the female working the AC to the entire building was out due to the storm and that it should be fixed tomorrow. After checking the room for bugs and cleanliness I noticed hair all over the floors and ceiling. The floors felt sticky which could have been caused by the lack of AC. The bathroom door was dirty with visible grossness on it. Then I pulled the towels out to shower The first one was damp. The next 3 had yellow stains all over them. I go down to the front desk to request 4 more. 2 of those had hair and stains on them. The next day, still no AC. I leave for work all day and upon returning back to the hotel around 8pm I notice other rooms have AC on. So I go to the front desk and request a credit because I was not provided AC. I am informed that the female working the night prior lied and was just being lazy. So I am offered to move rooms. I agree to move at first and then a few moments later I elect to stay since the first room was such a disaster that the next room could be worse. So I let the guy at the desk know I will just stay. At that point he became extremely confrontational and rude. He would not give me his name or the females name from the night prior and said he was ready to check me out and did just that. I spend over 100 nights a year in a hotel for work and this is by far the worst customer experience I have ever received. Everything there was dirty even the pool had a dirt ring around it. The walls and doors had numerous patch jobs. Security cameras were every few feet's so I assume this is a very unsafe hotel with a lot of issues. read more

IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO I WOULD!!!! I have never, ever seen a hotel and especially a RADISSON Hotel that look like that dump. An antenna went off when I saw the hotel after getting off at the exit and was caught at the light. While waiting at the light, looking at the hotel, I tried to think quickly about the description the hotel gave, this can't be a Radisson Hotel, my heart fell to my stomach and I became VERY concerned. The parking lot had paper, cigarette butts, not inviting or welcoming ... When I walked into the lobby to check in, there was a man at the desk, He was kind but the lobby was alarming and had a unpleasant smell that I really can't explain. He informed me that they had upgraded me to a King with the view of the river. When I received my keys, walked down the hall to get on the elevator. The hallway was dark, there was only one elevator that was filthy, arrived on the floor and there was a terrible smell that hit me when the door opened, hallway dark, smelly, very gloomy and when I got to the door to the room and it was so nasty. I walked in the room and the smell was nauseating, in the bedroom/sitting area it stopped me in my tracks for a minute because I couldn't believe my eyes, there was a metal/aluminum tray by the sofa, the drawers had big chunks out of them, everything was out dated, the floors were so nasty, there was no way I would think to sleep in the bed or sit on the sofa. I looked out the window to peek at the river view, the view was of the air condition system which there was so much black and dirt it was concerning about how the air/heat system most likely wasn't safe, the balcony outside the window was sooooooo nasty and disgusting. The closet... wouldn't or couldn't think to put my luggage or clothing. The bathroom was something that I have never seen before, there was something dark brown in the bottom of the toilet bowl, there was about 2-3 inches of brown/tan mold or something at the bottom of the wall, mold around the tub, brown around the bottom of the toilet, the shower head had rust and so much dust, stains in the tub, the door inside and outside of the bathroom was nasty, the sink and the smell. I went back down to the desk and expressed that I could not stay at that location. Expressed I had video taped the room to insure there would not be a problem with me cancelling the room. I was not rude and he was understanding. I called Radisson's Customer Care while I was in the room, expressed I was going to video taped the room before I turn the keys in, expressed my concerns regarding staying at that location. Also, I am traveling out of town by myself and a female. I hope that the hotel would not give me a problem with cancelling and not penalized me for cancelling. I am concerned that most hotel have a policy regarding cancelling room after 24 hours before check in. They walked me through this horrific experience, assisted me on finding another room at another Radisson location in Grand Rapids (Country Inn & Suites). The Customer Care team was awesome!!!! I thank them very much. I have never seen in my life (over 50 years) hotel accommodations like this locations and I have travelled a lot to domestic and international locations. I hope someone from The Radisson Headquarter send someone (physically) to this location A.S.A.P.!!!!!!! If anyone is in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area, I would recommend Country Inn and Suites which is under the Radisson umbrella. It is located 2 minutes from the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park and close to so many things. I thank God for always having a hedge of protection around me and continue to have mercy and grace on me. read more

Terrible experience. Check in line took 45 minutes to get through. My room was dirty, counters covered with something gooey. Asked for a new room, instead they said they'd send maintenance to clean it. No one ever came to clean it or check on me. Disgusting experience. I'll never stay with any Radisson again. I paid $400 for one night for the same quality of a Holiday Inn or Hampton. The room wasn't HORRIBLE by any means but definitely not worth $400. The shower hardly worked, the bed was hard, and horrible view. I'll be sure to tell everyone I speak to that they'd have the same "stay experience" at a Hampton, and not to spend the money with you. This hotel closed it's previous yelp location down, but rest assured it is the same quality hotel. We stayed here last minute after checking out Founder's Brewery because it was only 10 minutes drive away. The room was $120 for one night. We tried not to prejudge the hotel by the garish purple paintjob. We were wrong not to. We came in quite late past midnight and very tired. The concierge was MISSING and we had to ring the bell for 10 MINUTES until he eventually shuffled over from a hallway. After waiting no apology was made. The concierge moved as slow as molasses entering our information and was very curt and unfriendly. By the time we paid for our room and received a key two more parties of people showed up and were waiting impatiently behind us. We asked where the pool was and were told it is closed for reconstruction. My friend went to get a glass of water from their lemon-infused system and found the lemons were ROTTING and BLACKENED. The next morning the lemons had not been changed and we assume they have been seeping into the water source for months. When we first made our way to our room we discovered upon opening the door that it was UNDER CONSTRUCTION. The lighting was off and the room was full of planks of wood and debris so that we couldn't even get inside. What a joke. We went back down to the concierge who simply told us "the system messed up". Supposedly we were then comped a "better room". The second room we went to was on a higher floor and overlooked the very industrial river. The "better room" is one of their "updated" suites. WHAT A JOKE. This room REEKED of paint! The smell gave me a migraine. We would have moved a third time but my poor friend was so tired they passed out on the lumpy bed. The shower water in the morning was harsh and hard to control the temperature. The concierge woman in the morning was much more friendly but the damage had been done. I would never recommend this place. Hands down the nicest people I have ever met in my life. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They recently added a restaurant called River Rock that's attached to the hotel and it's awesome! The bartenders are super cool and the waitresses are so kind. The chef is unbelievable!! We had breakfast and he brought out an item that will be featured on the new menu... bacon wrapped smoked duck burrito.....OUTSTANDING! The entire hotel was recently renovated and is absolutely beautiful. It sits right on the river and has an awesome view, especially from the restaurant. Everything is very clean and well kept. It was $129 a night which isn't bad when you see how perfect it is. It's about 3 minutes away from downtown Grand Rapids and close to all the cool breweries! read more

Room was fine, walls are paper thin. Staff was friendly. Only 1 regular coffee packet in the room, that was a bummer. There was a qtip on the floor under our sink, gross. I would likely stay again if necessary but definitely won't be eating there. River Rock Dining we checked in late and was able to get a Starbucks coffee... The only redeeming quality. My husband and I went back for breakfast, we were met with having to pay up front $17 per person for a buffet filled with things that were barely edible. I had scrambled eggs, they looked fine, taste rancid they had a sickly sweetness to them. The bacon was soggy, stuck together and sitting in grease. Had what appeared to be a danish... I am not sure what it actually was. Even the fruit was bad, not ripe and hard. The prepackaged individual yogurts were fine. Don't waste your money. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This place straight up catfished us, this is not the hotel in the pics. Electrical issues immediately, staff said don't turn the lights on. Bathroom floor had some type of grease on it that made standing impossible, I nearly fell every time I went in. Elevator got stuck, had to carry luggage up 6 flights of stairs. Entire building smelled terrible. Sheets had blood on them, BLOOD!! Then we noticed the bedbugs, omg. Had to leave at 4am, parking lot was full of drug dealers and hookers. The pictures online must have been taken a few years ago because this place isn't as nice as it looks. I mean it's modern and it's not terrible. It's just a little more run down then I thought. Staff is pretty nice, pool and hot tub are great. Shower not so great.. view is decent for riverfront. This place could have gotten 4 stars but I discovered weed in my towels when I grabbed one to wash my hands. Otherwise pretty nice. EDIT: Came back to change my rating after realizing all the other issues. Also we called the front desk asking for new towels and they said they would bring some but never did. This was a hard one. Rooms were clean, friendly staff and good location. The River Rock restaurant was a joke. No BTN so I couldn't watch the football game. No Crown Royal and various beers. They didnt serve food until 5 (manager did cook us a sampler, which was nice). The breakfast buffet closes at 11, which sucks if you wanna sleep till checkout then eat. I didnt purchase it for that reason, but i did peak at it and appeared to be continental with 2 hot choices...All TV's were garbage with standard def and fuzzy...no ice in the machine on our floor and the coffee was out. They offered a free shuttle, but it wasnt running at the times we needed it. So that was a giant waste. This place appears to have great potential, but they really need to focus on improving the restaurant (dont run out of popular liqour/beer) and upgrade the tvs. read more
