Don't be fooled by the hyperbole a quick Google search for this place will throw up. I went quite…read moresignificantly out of my way to go to this spot because I read it was "world renowned". When I walked in the owner asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. Any jazz? No. Any soul and funk? No. Any reggae? No. Any Hip hop? No. So I ask what they do have, and the guy tells me they specialise in '60s and '70s rock and pop. I thought to myself that this hardly constitutes a specialism by my definition of the word but, being English and thus not wanting to seem rude, I start looking through some crates anyway, only to discover that every single item in the shop is a re-issue. So here is a shop that "specialises" in a type of popular music of which there exists an abundance, but all they sell is reissues?!? Seems pretty spurious to me. Unless this is what you're after, this place is not worth the diversion.

Small record store across from Pet Sounds and An Ideal for Living with a weird vibe. There are…read moresigns on the records that say "it is not possible to listen to used records," but it IS possible, you just have to allow it, like a good record store. You don't really listen to an unused record. So the place has an uptight feel, and that's not what music is about, so shop elsewhere.
