There was a time, not so long ago, when this was the only station I bothered listening to. They…read morehad a great morning show for the drive to work, played good stuff, and had a rotation that was hours deep rather than just 15 or 20 songs on a loop, and the DJs knew enough to shut the hell up and just push play. But that was then. One of the morning guys moved to Seattle years ago, and the other inexplicably disappeared & turned up at another station a while back. It's been all downhill since. The morning show is now Bob & Tom, who I think are only funny when they have a guest who is actually funny. Most of the time, they're idiots who laugh too hard at their own stupid jokes. There's no point in listening at all between 6 and 10AM. The mid-day guys have both been around a while, and aren't bad. I cannot tolerate the girl in the evening, her voice grates on me, she's constantly making stupid puns and altering her voice, and she seems to think she has to use the exact same phrases every time she comes on the air. Plus, I don't want to listen to her, just play some damn music! The best feature this station has is the 80's hour with a DJ named, appropriately enough, The Mullet. When they play music, this station rocks. But if you listen for more than 5 minutes, you'll find that they constantly advertise that they play less commercials than the other stations. They must just sell fewer, longer commercials, because when they go to break, you might as well find something else to listen to....they won't be back for a while. Unfortunately, this is the only hard rock stick in town, so if that's your kind of music, you're stuck with their shitty programming. For me, the changes they've made have given me the excuse to start using the other pre-sets on my radio.

I'm tired of the same old music, though. How many times can someone listen to Buck Cherry calling names, then apologizing. There are so many great bands out there and I wish 97 Rock would get on board with KOL.

Absolutely smitten with the fact that they are giving local Tri -Tech kids the on-air experience as radio D.J.s! Who does that?! Jeff Jacobs, that's who. Hats off to you, sir.
