I travelled with Radio Cabs from Newton Station to Ewen Fields Stadium and back for Manchester City Elite Devlopement Squad's game against Schalke 04.
I used this taxi firm after finding them on Google, I first called them when I was planning my journey and the staff on the phone seemed polite, who give me a quote of £3.
When I first range the taxi, they taken 7 minutes and the taxi driver seemed polite and got me as close as I can to the stadium, as I was running late for the game and missing the first few minutes. This cost £3.10
On my return, the taxi driver was not so nice and friendly, he didn't stand out on the friendly side however he was really unhelpful, after I said I needed to go back to Newton station we really struggled to explain where it was, while the meter went up, I eventually explained it was Newton for Hyde station and then he told me they was 4 entrances to it, I can not believe that because it was such a small station. As I am not from Hyde, The station looked in the middle of no where and I was thankful to see Manchester Piccadily on the information board but no matter which side he would of taken me, They would of been a bridge to get to the other side. I really didn't like how he couldnt radio through to ask or know this basic fact about the local area. Due to what went on this journey cost £3.90.
The taxi firm staff on the phone did seem very nice and polite and they do have a professional website with some good information and a place to book a taxi however due to the terrible, nerveracking return leg of my journey I can not give more than 3 stars and I do feel that is slightly generous as I would of preferred to give 2 and a half stars. read more
