Owning an Alfa Romeo is more about emotion than rationality. It literally makes no financial sense…read moreto own an Alfa Romeo; well at least one made (stuck together?) before about 2004. If you are an Alfa owner you just accept that the price of ownership is much more than the windscreen price you paid when you fell in love in the first place. So if you are bitten by the Alfa bug, you need to make friends with people like the chaps at Alfa Aid. Unlike your average motor shop, they won't look at you, point and laugh when you drag your reluctant pride and joy for a service, MOT or a bit of TLC. They understand that you couldn't help buying the car; that once you had the test drive, felt the handling and heard the engine note you were smitten. In fact it's reassuring to hear that they have the Alfa bug much worse than you do. So I have just picked up my 147 following pretty major automotive heart surgery. The guys up there, Adrian and Lee were pretty good prior to me booking the car in they gave me a quote that was 40% less than the local main dealer and they stuck to it. Having said that they also helpfully suggested a few others bits to be done at the same time (while the engine was out!) and made sure I was sitting down when they broke the news about the cost. But now I picked up the car the results are just brilliant quite literally it feels like driving a new car. Yes it was stupid amount to spend on my beloved italian box of mis-connected nuts and bolts but I have now resigned myself to spending the approximate total retail value of my car at least once a year. But hey, this is probably 2 months payments on a new car and a many many times the fun! So in summary, if you have an Alfa Romeo built before 2004, live within 15 miles or so of Maidenhead you really should speak to Alfa Aid before going anywhere else. You will save a little money but learn a lot more about your Alfa especially how to get at least a few more precious months on the road together

The reason I keep going back is that they just seem honest, tell me what needs doing and have never played that game where one price is given and then rises without good reason. I also go here as I get chance to realise I do need to buy an Alfa SZ before I die (they always have a handful in the garage as they seem to specialise in the harder cars.

Very disappointing experience - not the professional diagnostic promised…read more I booked my car in with VolcanMotors for what was clearly advertised and verbally confirmed as a professional and detailed diagnostic. When I made the booking, the owner assured me they would carry out proper due diligence and identify the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of that expectation. After a few hours, I was told the "diagnostic" had been done using a diagnostic machine only, with no meaningful additional investigation. There was no visual inspection, no deeper fault-finding, and no attempt to properly validate the issue. They simply repeated the same fault code information I was already aware of. Based on this very superficial check, they quickly recommended a major and expensive repair -- without demonstrating any thorough analysis to justify it. When I asked reasonable questions to understand their process and reasoning, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude rather than a professional explanation. What's most disappointing is not just the lack of diagnosis, but the lack of honesty and professionalism. If the garage does not have the expertise, time, or willingness to properly diagnose a vehicle, it would be far more professional to say so upfront rather than provide a costly recommendation based on a basic scan. I trusted them to treat both the job and me as a customer with professionalism and respect. Instead, I received neither. I would not return to this garage and would not trust their diagnostic conclusions.

This could possibly be the best car repair center. Very friendly and helpful. And very reasonably…read morepriced.
