When…read morewe first arrived, dance music was playing rather than sports, the staff could not figure out how to resolve that for awhile, but they did eventually get the game sound on. The Sandbar advertises over 30 beers on tap, but the selection was not inspiring, all are available at any decent distributor. Another issue is no free refills on soda, they pack the cup with ice and charge $2 for every one, never been to a place that does that. Finally, the drinks are pretty pricey there, the final straw that caused us to leave. Not sure what the break down was, but it was about $15 a round for 3 draft beers (one micro, two not) and a diet Pepsi.

Their dry cajun and Jamaican Jerk are fantastic. It's definitely a "beach bar" away from the beach with great service, laid back music, and plenty of outdoor space to sit.

I would try the ahi tuna tacos next time. You can split a sandwich here for extra $2. If you see the low score reviews - they are just being hard to be hard - this place is great.

Room 33 is STILL amazing! Five years after my original…read morereview, we made our way back to Erie and Room 33 -- this time to celebrate Melissa's birthday. We've actually tried to return a couple times since that first visit, but apparently other people have discovered the place too. Both times we showed up without reservations and struck out. Lesson finally learned: MAKE. THE. RESERVATION. This time we did, and Room 33 reminded us exactly why we loved it in the first place. We both ordered Sonny's Short Rib, served over mashed potatoes with roasted carrots. Absolutely delicious -- tender, rich and packed with flavor. Although I gotta give the 2021 version the edge in the looks department. And you can't celebrate a birthday without dessert. Melissa went with the peanut butter pie, while yours truly handled the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Both were worthy of the occasion. Different band than our first visit, but the same great energy. Live music, cocktails, that cool speakeasy atmosphere and a room full of people having a genuinely good time -- Room 33 just knows how to create a night out. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially when they have a band performing. My go-to dish is the short rib dish. The mashed potatoes are amazing and the short ribs are packed with flavor. On this particular visit, they were a bit skimpy on the au jus sauce (it's normally got a healthy laddle of pan sauce on the bowl) but that's okay. I did splurge for my birthday and get a slice of the peanut butter pie. It was super rich and exactly what peanut butter lovers want in a peanut butter pie.
