This is a competitor amongst two other gas stations within a block. Located on the North side of I 10 and the East side of 146. The prices at this and most are usually at the top three when you are seeking the lowest possible gas prices. Main competitors would be Fuel Stop and Murphy's. Parking lot is usually well kept, no weary people hanging around telling you that they are from out of town, their car is down the road stuck with no gas and their 4 kids are stranded there waiting for some gas to make it to blah blah blah... Brightly lit, you will feel a little more secure here than the kind of dark Chevon down the block. The restrooms during my 4:30 a.m. stop are usually well kept......I guess till the traffic rush comes in. read more

I travel between Beaumont and Houston frequently and this is the only place I'll ever get gas. The restrooms are hit-or-miss, but everything is fairly clean. Gas is cheap. read more

So approximately 1:15pm today, I was getting gas at the Raceway off Garth road, right next to the mall. But I will never use ANY Raceway after todays experience. After filling up the truck, I go to leave but the engine doesn't start because somehow the battery died. So I call my dad in which he replies he'll be there to jump it in about 20 minutes. As I go inside the gas station, the "owner" asks "what's going on with your truck?!" Me: "oh the battery just died all of a sudden, but my dad's on his way, he's just down the street" Owner: "Well you have to move it now, its bad for business!!" (Several things immediately cross my mind.) 1. I just gave his business $54.86 within a couple of minutes after filling my tank. 2. More than half this guys pumps are open. 3. Gas is on a pretty good decline right now and everyone is jumping for joy so business has to be pretty damn good (its making news for Christ's sake!). 4. It's a Thursday and a lot of people are at work (not getting gas). 5. Raceway usually has the better price and almost everyone I know gets gas from there pretty often. Me: "Half your pumps are open, 5 more minutes can't be that bad for business and plus my truck doesn't start so I can't move it". Owner: " I DON'T CARE!! PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND PUSH IT OR I CALL THE TOW TRUCK!!" (As professionalism goes out the window at this point, and not to mention I was on my way to the gym so the pre-workout was kicking in) Me: "OK A**HOLE! I'LL GO PUSH IT AND WILL NOT! BE BACK TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN!" As I'm walking out to my truck to move it for this POS, he follows me gobbling like a turkey. Owner: "OH YOU GONNA USE THAT FOUL LANGUAGE TO ME!? I BEEN ON THIS PLANET FOR 62 YEARS!" ME:" IDGAF! GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME" As I'm pushing the truck away from the pumps, this guy is rambling on and on while pulling out his phone, in which I'm assuming he's calling the tow company. And then he starts taking pictures of my license plates. He walks inside, comes back out and tells me he just called the tow truck. I tell him well good luck cause this truck won't be getting towed today. As he goes back in, I try to start the truck and it works! Laughing at this point, I just drive off shaking my head and had a pretty awesome workout after all of that. And that's why everyone should steer clear of this place.
