I was in this area to play golf. I was pretty hungry and came across this Indian restaurant while I was driving by. Initially I was very hesitant as I saw only a couple of cars parked outside the restaurant in their parking spot. I took a chance. I was greeted by a nice hostess who offered me any open seats to sit. I took a window seat right next to another group. This group was a group of young Hispanic boys. The way they kept doing stuff on their table looked sketchy. I will come back to their story soon. Biryani is one of my favorite dishes. It's flavored rice with any meat you want. I ordered lamb biryani as it was highly recommended by the server. They gave free pappad which was nice. Biryani was very delicious. Lots of amazing flavors and lots of meat. I definitely needed a to go container to take the rest home. Coming back to the 4 guys who were sitting next to me. While I was having my dinner, they received the check. Two of the boys walked out while the other two said they will pay in cash. The server walked away to give them some space. Remaining two quickly put some cash and walked out and I could see they jumped in the car and rushed away. When server came back and checked the payment, they had left only $20, but their bill was about $100. I did see them order a lot of stuff. I think they all had their entree and a couple of starters. I felt bad for the server. One advice is to collect the cash payment directly at the register to avoid such scenarios.

About a 4.5: Raaga offers a great daily lunch buffet, offering Indian and Nepali eats. They offer an extensive menu, which includes various apps, soups, tandoori specialties, seafood/chicken/lamb/vegetarian entrees, biryani, house dishes, sides, desserts, and drinks. Honestly, my prior experiences with Raaga had always been just okay - I never disliked the place, but I never really fully enjoyed the food, either. It seems as if either the management, or, specifically, the kitchen staff has changed, since the food they offer now is SO MUCH BETTER! The hubs and I came here for lunch to partake in their AYCE lunch buffet - the dishes included: +salad and dressings +potato balls +basmati rice +veg biryani +mix veg curry +yellow dal +palak paneer +mattar mushroom +chicken tikka kabab +butter chicken +and, kheer for dessert The dishes were actually quite delicious! My favorites were the potato balls, the mattar mushroom, the chicken tikka kabab, and the butter chicken - all were so thick, creamy, and so flavorful! The hot naan that comes out was so buttery - it was soft and crispy at the same time, and amazing to scoop up the sauces with. Staff were very kind and friendly; used dishes were taken away promptly, and our water was frequently refilled. Definitely a great option if you're craving for some Indian/Nepali food; the buffet gives you a great variety, and everything was well-prepared and fresh. Plenty of parking in their private lot. +delicious lunch buffet +friendly & kind staff +ample parking in private lot

Unassuming exterior for good Indian cuisine. I loved the baignan bharta (mashed eggplant). The naan was good as well. We tried the mixed tandoori grill but the lamb was extremely tough and chicken was quite dry. The chicken saag was flavorful though. Service was polite and accommodating to us.

One of our family favorite restaurants in Falls Church. Staffs are very friendly, the place is clean and food is soooo good, great balance with curry favor, various spicy levels. Weekday price is $15**, weekend is $19** if I remember correctly, but it's totally worth it since they serve the lamb curry stew during weekend(maybe in different name) that is my favorite dish there.

The ambience/interior decorating and exterior patio could use a refresh, and that is the only reason that I took off one star. The service was friendly, and the food was amazing, succulent, slow cooked deliciousness! I had chicken saag and sweetie pie had curried chicken. The portions were generous, and, in a rare move, we took leftovers home because they were that good. I recommend!

Service is great, but I'm so-so on the food. It's not as authentic as I had hoped. For instance, the chana masala just didn't taste right and the tandoori chicken was kind of dry (which, how do you even do that with tandoori chicken?) But to be fair, the palak chat was amazing, so it wasn't all bad.

I thought everything was so delicious!! I feel like sometimes flavor could be overpowering in some places but this to me was perfect! It did have good amount of cumin flavor but I didn't mind it bc it went all so well. I would highly recommend it!! I had a lot of ppl suggesting me to this place from fb! I don't regret my decision

Overall I thought it was fine. The chicken was made well, and mah tai was good, although my wife said it didn't really taste like one. I think for someone who doesn't know Indian food all that well, it's worth going. But won't be going back.

Their naan bread is one of the best in the area. Try their assortment of naan including the garlic naan which is my personal favorite! The butter chicken was well seasoned and had amazing flavor in every bite. Perfectly paired with rice and add naan bread to dip into for a great experience!

Naan Bread that comes with buffet lunch. Delicious!

Went for the buffet after an absence of about six years or so. We had stopped going because we felt the quality had gone down; however I must say it is back and it's a star. The food was delicious. The servers and chef were friendly. The ambience was nice, peaceful and clean. The tandoori naan was piping hot from the oven and tender, flavorful, nicely charred in spots, and brushed with a lovely touch of GHEE.

I've been to Raaga a few times over the last few years. Today, we stopped in for our staff lunch. I called at about 1230 to inform me we were arriving at 1pm and needed a table for 11 people. The lunch buffet was set up. Which contained salad, vegetable pakora, chicken tiki, rice, and fruit. It was under whelming to me. I enjoyed the chicken.. The service was average. We got water and naan for our table. I think I prefer dinner at this restaurant.

Our grubhub order. Everything was fantastic

I am so happy I finally found a great Indian restaurant! I live in Rosslyn and have been trying out DC restaurants and all were very underwhelming, taste and portion size-wise. I found this place on grubhub and for my first order, got the paneer shashlik, butter chicken, chicken tandoori, garlic naan, and mango lassi. The order came with rice, channa masala, and mint chutney. All were fantastic and portion sizes were good for multiple meals given the cost! I was truly blown away. I ordered from here again to-go last night with a similar order and it was the same excellent quality. Parking and pickup were very easy. My only wish is that they offered chicken tikka masala in addition to butter chicken! Then it would be perfect. My husband and I have decided to make this our go-to Indian food place and we are also looking forward to coming in for their lunch buffet.

Everything I normally get for the lunch buffet: Chicken Biryani, chicken Marsala, spinach, mint sauce with yogurt sauce!!

Good thing we arrived early enough to beat the crowd and get dibs on the food that alone would be worth $20 if eating by itself in a typical Chinese resto - examples include the seafood (which my wife says was surprisingly fresh compared to all other buffets we've had in the past), ribs, roast duck, pho (yes...PHO!) - to name a few. The place itself is quite spacious, modern looking, and clean. Tables were NOT crammed together like some other buffets might be. Restrooms were big and clean. Speaking of cleanliness - plates were clean AND DRY (unlike every other buffet I've been to where the dishwasher seems to be so overwhelmed that plates come out wet...yuck) Staff is amazing! Friendly, took their time, efficient at removing dirty plates, and gentle...not sure what I mean by that, but I feel like it made my dining experience that much better. Food-wise, I'd say was slightly a step above in terms of the non-seafood items. My wife says the seafood was top notch. I really enjoyed the ribs, chicken stick, and beef broccoli - although everything else was quite tasty. My 7 y/o enjoyed the pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets. The taro bun was nice and soft - a definite departure from the stale, hard-on-the-outside buns I was accustomed to at other buffets. Most surprisingly was that they had pho!...which I've never ever seen before at a Chinese buffet. I didn't have a chance to try it, but will certainly do so next time. Parking-wise - there seems to be dedicated parking at the resto level (at least I didn't see any other businesses at that lower level) which can be accessed by driving straight towards the buffet and NOT going to the upper level where the Burlington strip mall is. If lower level parking is full, there would certainly be more parking in upper level....then simply take the stairs down to buffet. I'm excited to go back....and excited for YOU to try it! Definitely one of the best....if not THE BEST Chinese buffet I've ever been to. And having experienced the Chinese buffets in Southern California, that's saying a lot! NOTE: Don't compare a buffet to a traditional Chinese restaurant. In a buffet....it's more about getting your fill. Here, I think you'll find that you not only get your fill, but you'll be satisfied. OH! And my stomach was not upset at all afterwards (apart from being soooo full lol). Bon appetit!

The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained, which immediately sets a great impression. The variety here is incredible -- everything from Chinese favorites and dim sum to sushi, a raw bar, hibachi grill, made-to-order noodle stations, and an impressive dessert selection. There are honestly too many delicious options to list. Some of my personal favorites include the carved brisket roast and the perfectly steamed halibut. I also loved the made-to-order noodle bar, where I customized a pho bowl topped with beef, wontons, and roasted duck. It was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. With so many high-quality options, you truly get both variety and great taste here. This is one buffet that definitely exceeds expectations.

There was so much variety that I wasn't able to try everything. Lobster, clam, crab leg, oyster, scallop, abalone, oxtail, rib, fish, cuttlefish, chicken, galbi, shrimp, sushi, and sashimi to name a few. The abalone was a bit dry, probably from sitting out for a while before being eaten. The pig bun was cute, but I was expecting custard and it was actually a red bean filling. I did not enjoy the colorful dumplings. I'm glad they also had eel sashimi, but it was not refilled before we left after it ran out. This big selection is only for dinner or weekends. If you go for weekday lunch, the variety of food drastically decreases. I loved their chicken soup and Buddha jumps over the wall soup. There was also a nice selection of bubble tea and drinks that are complementary with the meal. You can also add on hotpot. There is also a selection of dessert. There's also ramen, but the quality is not as authentic. I love mango, but unfortunately the mango in the fruit section was not ripe. After we were seated, there was so much to try. A member of the wait staff must bring the hotpot (it's small, but that's okay because the table fills up with plates quickly) and sodas, if ordering. I ordered the mushroom broth flavoring (none of the hotpot's have pork-based favoring). Everything else is available to pick up on your own (Ramen, Buffet items, hot pot items, boba teas, and all of the dessert items). Staff came fairly regularly to pick up empty plates. Bathrooms were okay, no lines when I needed to stop by. I would love to see Umi have handwashing sinks outside of the restrooms though, not sure where they would put them, but that would be amazing! It was busy when we dined for lunch, but it was not ever so busy that I was waiting for food or platters were empty. Umi also offers carry out for food and even boba teas for additional cost. There is an automatic 12% service fee added to each check, regardless of the size of the party. If paying with cash, there is a 3% discount. There is plenty of free outdoor parking all over the shopping complex Umi is in. I tried not to think of this too much, but Umi only uses plastic/disposable plates. All that plastic leeching into my food didn't stop me, but it made me uncomfortable and stressed. The bowls for soup were plastic too. The silverware was metal and the bowls the Ramen was served in was ceramic. I asked if by chance non-plastic materials are available at Dinner and was told that only plastic is ever used. I understand why (the kitchen cannot keep up with washing the plates, I am sure), but I am unsure of when I would want to return because of this unpleasant feeling.

I arrived here from Ronald Regan Washington international airport and used the public transportation system to get here. Thankfully, they were open for dinner and I got seated right away. The restaurant itself was not big but not small either. It could accommodate 50 people at any given time. I arrived here around 5:30 PM on a brisk Wednesday evening. It was nice to be here because of the travel that I had done the day before to get here. With that said, I spent a good amount of time eating my way through the station that they had. I was quite famished because of the air travel and definitely was looking forward to diving in. I ended up having most of the seafood related items first before diving into a second round of the seafood again I ended up with a plate of carbohydrates, mostly pasta and rice before ending the meal with a full stomach and a happy smile on my face. Definitely worth coming here because of the unlimited items that they had. At least it felt unlimited because of the share volume of food that they put out on any given day. I spent about an hour here trying to get full value for my meal which happened to be around $15-$20 with out tax and gratuity. Feeling pretty good when I've dived in. Bloated when I finally said I had enough. It was worth the effort though! If you're in the area and wouldn't love a good Chinese themed inspired buffet, consider coming here to this one in Alexandria, Virginia. I certainly recommend this one for sure. The overall experience here at this Golden Buffet restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia was very good. I overdid it calories wise, but I was on vacation. I sat near the food, which small wonderful and Daphne made me think that I could eat a lot more than I normally can on any given day. At least the price was fixed so that you can indulge beyond what you can for a fixed price. That's what I love about a buffet and the Golden buffet here in Alexandria Virginia is no different. The ambience here was very good and quiet for sure. It was just me and my stomach hurting all the food that I was eating. Once in a while, the server comes to check up on me to see if I had needed any water or anything else to drink during my stay. While the food is mass produced, you can feel that there is pride and love that goes into making such delicious dishes every day. They basically have the traditional Chinese food dishes that most Americans would enjoy, as well as other dishes that local Chinese in the area would enjoy as well. So they have a lot of stuff that can pique the curiosity of both. I eat a bunch of vegetables during my stay but majority of the food that I had was the seafood, considering that's usually the most expensive items on the menu anyway. And so, if you love buffet and Chinese food, consider coming here in the Alexandria area if you're hungry for something that would carry your dinner plans as definitely scratch that Chinese food fix that you've been craving all day long. The Golden buffet restaurant is located in Alexandria Virginia. It is physically located at 7820 Richmond Highway, a few miles from the Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport. I took the metro and a local bus to get here, which was okay. The rush hour in DC is pretty much crazy but I made it work. For the most part though, my experience here at the Golden Buffet Alexandria was good and cozy. As I write this, I'm full to the max and don't really regret it at the moment. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a small parking area for y'all who drive. If you're like me, public transportation is available (DC metro and other public buses) for anyone and everyone who wishes to come and dine here. And of course, there's Uber and Lyft and Empower at your convenience. If you're looking for something that can fill your stomach at a reasonable price, consider coming here for your next meal in the DC / Alexandria area. Oh maybe you could probably skip a meal or so just to make room to get real value for your money. That's what I did when I came. Air travel can do that to anyone. 4.0 stars for the overall experience Support local! B

Chef at the sushi station was glued to his phone, blasting what sounded like a personal playlist so loud you could catch the rhythm from across the buffet. Wasabi was chalky and ginger looked days old. Soy sauce? Evaporating. Buffet choices were super slim, mainly shrimp. Beef and chicken stir fry didn't look worth the plate space. Two kinds of fried wings in total, which didn't help. Another staff had their phone volume maxed out, so the noise never stopped. Salad bar was a sad scene; brown edges and limp leaves, with dressings crusted over like they'd been sitting since breakfast. Forget the dessert section and fruit; nothing looked tempting.
